The school caters for children and young adults aged 2-19 years, with profound and multiple learning disabilities, severe learning difficulties, and/or a diagnosis of autistic spectrum condition.
Higher level teaching assistant Anna Hodkinson said: 'The pupils, staff and governors took part in different physical activities. It was great to see everybody getting involved, laughing and smiling.
'We had sensory circuits- balancing bean bags on our head to go round cones. We had timed circuits- one minute of press ups, spotty dog, star jumps and mountain climbers. To finish the session, we played wheelchair basketball, which brought out some positive competition between us!'

Why Liverpool fans' Federico Chiesa chant has sparked an online war
Liverpool serenaded Italian forward Federico Chiesa with his signature song after the diminutive forward scored the go-ahead goal in the club's opening Premier League match of the 2025/26 campaign against Bournemouth last Friday. Here are the lyrics (to the tune of 'Sway' by Dean Martin): 'We can hear them crying in Turin, Federico, he's here to win., One chat with Arne Slot and he said 'ciao', f--- off Juve, I'm a Kopite now…' While Chiesa admitted he was "really grateful for the song" post-match, it sparked some ire due to its strong anti-Juventus slant. Chiesa played for the Italian giants from 2020 to 2024, scoring 32 goals in 131 appearances. Fans from each side were separated on either end of the stadium. A mixed section near the Liverpool supporters contained only fans purchasing tickets in Belgium. Instead, it was filled with a plethora an Italian expats (and Juventus fans) living abroad. Reds fans breached the section, separated only by a thin fence, prior to kick-off as Juventus attempted to flee. A wall collapsed, causing 39 fans to die and a local state of siege to be called. The match continued despite the captains of both clubs being made aware that fans may have died — the decision was made by a collection of local and other European authorities. Juventus won the contest 1-0. English fans were subsequently banned from European competition for an indefinite period of time. Since then, Liverpool has only played the Italian giants twice: both legs of the 2004/05 Champions League. The club attempted to show solidarity with a tifo preaching friendship, though the gesture generally split the Juventus fanbase. The Chiesa chant, which also adorned Wembley Stadium during the 2025 Community Shield, will likely remain a staple throughout the season if the Italian stays. However, the departures of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz, as well as the death of Diogo Jota, have opened up playing time for Chiesa. 'The fans sang for him so many times last season, and it is very nice for him to give them something in return," Liverpool manager Arne Slot said of his versatile forward. 'That is difficult for me to tell you [why supporters have taken to Chiesa so well], although I am a fan, I am never standing on the Kop and don't come up with these songs. 'The only thing I can come up with is Federico had a great history, was a big player deciding to go from Italy to England, which you don't see that much," he added. 'I don't know, maybe it is also a nice song to sing, but then I probably don't give him the credits he deserves.'

Manchester City have one player who seems determined to succeed
Perhaps Rayan Cherki was the most exciting summer signing that Manchester City made. The French international arrived at the Etihad after a dominant 24/25 season with Lyon. In terms of hype surrounding a player's undoubted talent and potential, Cherki is one of the most tantalising players to arrive at Manchester City. He has every attribute required to develop into one of the world's best players. That is obvious to see. He showed a glimpse of that talent against Wolves at Molineux. Cherki scored Manchester City's fourth goal in their 4-nil win. But what else is beginning to stand out is Cherki's determination to succeed. If his drive can match his talent, he should become a top player in the Premier League and Europe. There will be tougher challenges for Cherki, but in 20 minutes at Molineux, he dazzled. Rayan Cherki replaced Erling Haaland in the 73rd minute of City's opening Premier League fixture of the season. He came on with his team 3-nil up and the game under City's control. But the final 20 minutes of the match allowed Cherki to show his immense technical ability. His array of tricks and flicks caught the eye. He played predominantly as a false nine of sorts, but he drifted all over the pitch to receive possession. The French international scored his first goal in the Premier League with his right-footed strike in the 81st minute. That goal was the perfect snippet of what Cherki adds to Pep Guardiola's side. His movement was sublime. After picking up the ball, his step over left the Wolves defence reeling, and his right-footed strike gave Jose Sà no chance. That's what Cherki will add to this Manchester City side. Immense quality in the final third and the ability to create something out of nothing. There will be bigger challenges for Cherki and his team as the new season develops. But in 20 minutes, the French international put in a tantalising cameo display to begin his Premier League career. Pep Guardiola believes Rayan Cherki is determined to become a special player at City. Watching Rayan Cherki play, there is an arrogance to how he goes about his work. It's as if he knows he is the most talented player on the pitch. But that was known when he signed for Manchester City. What is becoming apparent is that Cherki is determined to fulfil his potential at City. In a new interview with Men In Blazers, Pep Guardiola spoke about what Rayan Cherki has brought to his team. The City manager believes that Cherki is determined to reach the very top as a player. He explained: 'He's an incredibly talented player; his use of the ball with both feet is top. We know him a little bit from Lyon, but now we have to start to know each other, knowing exactly what we want, what we have to do. ' 'I have the feeling that his mindset is he wants to transcend, he wants to become a good player for us, and a good player for the Premier League. Always when we sign a player, that is what I'm looking for; this desire, passion.' 'We need players that want to continue the legacy of the old names, continue to be up there.' There was an exciting glimpse of Rayan Cherki's prodigious talent against Wolves at Molineux. But it wasn't a surprise to see Cherki play well. What is becoming more apparent is that he is determined to become a special player for Manchester City. Listening to Pep Guardiola speak about the French international further highlights this point.

Leandro Trossard agrees new Arsenal contract
Leandro Trossard has agreed a new contract at Arsenal which will grant him a significant pay rise. The 30-year-old has reached an agreement on a contract adjustment, increasing his salary but not extending the deal beyond its previous expiration of 2027. At present, there are no significant developments regarding Trossard potentially leaving the club during this transfer window. Advertisement The Belgium international has been in talks with the club for some time over improved pay, with a view to bringing his salary in line with his valued role in the squad. After a process that has played out across the summer, Trossard and Arsenal have now found an accord. Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton in January 2023 in a £27million deal ($36.1m). During his two-and-a-half seasons at Arsenal, he has established himself as an important and versatile member of Mikel Arteta's squad. He has scored 28 goals and provided 23 assists in 124 games for the north London side, being deployed on either wing as well as up front and in midfield. The forward was an unused substitute in Arsenal's opening game of the Premier League season against Manchester United on Sunday. Gabriel Martinelli started on the left wing with new signing Noni Madueke replacing him in that position in the second half. Trossard sustained a groin injury during his side's pre-season defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong on July 31 and has yet to return to competitive action.
