SHAH ALAM, June 24 (Bernama) -- Aircraft Propeller Service (APS), a global leader in aircraft propeller maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), today opened its new facility Shah Alam, Selangor, marking its first MRO centre in Asia.
Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari welcomed the APS's entry, saying it brings greater specialisation to the maintenance of aircraft propellers used in turboprop aircraft such as those manufactured by ATR, Embraer, and even Airbus.
'This development further strengthens our aerospace ecosystem as nearly 67 per cent of Malaysia's total MRO activities are already based in Selangor. I am confident that with APS now part of our MRO industry, we are on track to achieve our target of capturing 70 per cent of national MRO activities by 2030,' he said during his speech at the official opening of the APS MRO facility here.

Amirudin said APS's decision to select Selangor as its third operating base after Brazil and the United States (US) underscores the growing confidence in the state's strategic geographic location, skilled workforce, transparent regulatory environment, and position as the gateway to ASEAN.
APS is currently the only MRO company in Asia and the Americas licensed to perform original equipment manufacturer (OEM)-proprietary 568F propeller repairs under an agreement with Collins Aerospace, the propeller manufacturer.
With facilities in Malaysia, the US and Brazil, APS is strategically positioned to support key turboprop fleets across multiple regions. As a Collins Aerospace-licensed repair facility, the company has access to technical publications and uses OEM approved materials and processes.
Speaking at the event, APS chief executive officer Daniel Colbert said the new facility represents a strategic investment in workforce development and technical excellence, and also bringing the company closer to its regional customers.
'The region's strategic location was one of the main reasons in selecting Selangor for our third expansion. In addition to excellent infrastructure and skilled workforce, the ease of doing business and transparency working with Invest Selangor, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), and local authorities makes the process smooth,' he said, adding the company has hired 100 local employees.
The new 30,096 square-foot facility involving an investment of than US$1 million (US$1-RM4.27) features a temperature and humidity-controlled factory floor and a three-story administrative office. It will offer full in-house MRO capabilities for ATR 42/72 and Airbus C295 propellers, with plans to introduce further MRO capabilities over time.

Bursa Malaysia Publicly Reprimands MCOM For Failing To Submit Audited Financials

BUSINESS KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd (Bursa Malaysia) has publicly reprimanded MCOM Holdings Bhd for failing to announce its annual audited financial statements (AFS) for the 18-month financial period ended June 30, 2024, by the Oct 31, 2024 deadline. Bursa Malaysia said MCOM was found in breach of LEAP Market listing requirements (LEAP LR) for not issuing the audited financial statements together with the auditors' and directors' reports within the stipulated timeframe. 'As of now, MCOM has yet to announce the AFS 2024,' it said in a stock exchange filing. 'Bursa Malaysia views the breach seriously as timely submission of financial statements is a fundamental obligation of listed companies and of paramount importance in ensuring an orderly and fair market for securities traded on Bursa Malaysia Securities and is necessary to aid informed investment decisions,' it said. The stock exchange regulator noted that MCOM attributed the delay to insufficient and inexperienced accounting staff, high turnover, and the resignation of its external auditors on Oct 29, 2024, over unsettled audit fees. "These reasons do not justify the delay, as all listed companies are required to have the necessary funds and resources, including sufficient and available finance and accounting staff, to prepare their financial statements and ensure compliance with the listing requirements. 'MCOM also failed to demonstrate reasonable efforts, including paying the outstanding audit fees to the external auditors, to enable the commencement of the audit and the issuance of the AFS 2024 by the due date,' it said. Bursa Malaysia said that de-listing procedures have been initiated against MCOM, but it has 'decided to defer the de-listing on the condition that the company announces the AFS 2024 on or before Aug 31, 2025, as represented by MCOM.' The extension also took into account that MCOM had appointed a new auditor on May 21, 2025, it added. -- BERNAMA

Singapore, China and Malaysia dominate the foreign investment market in Indonesia

JAKARTA, Aug 8 (Bernama-ANTARA): Head of Indonesia's Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Hasan Nasbi, identified Singapore and Malaysia as among the five main countries with the largest investments in Indonesia as of August 2025. In a press conference at the PCO Office in Jakarta on Thursday, he stated that the data demonstrates foreign investors' confidence in the national economic prospects under President Prabowo Subianto's administration. "Of the five countries that have invested the most in Indonesia, Singapore is the largest investor, with an investment value of US$8.8 billion," he said reported ANTARA news agency. Also in Indonesia, he added that Hong Kong and China investments also reached more than US$8 billion, while Malaysia's investment was US$1.7 billion, and Japan's investment was US$1.6 billion. The five largest sectors attracting foreign investment included the basic metals industry, transportation and telecommunications, mining, services, and the housing and industrial estates sector. "These investments have been realised. This means they are truly investing here, not just commitments or promises," he stated. The total realised investment value as of August 2025 was recorded at Rp942.9 trillion, or nearly 50 per cent of the annual target of Rp1,900 trillion. He said that the achievement became a strong signal that Indonesia remains a prime global investment destination. - Bernama-ANTARA

Multiple entry visa for Bangladeshi workers starts today in Malaysia

PUTRAJAYA: The Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) facility for Bangladeshi workers officially takes effect today. The Home Ministry confirmed the new measure applies to workers with valid Temporary Employment Visit Passes (PLKS) and Single Entry Visas (SEV). No separate MEV application is required for eligible workers this year. The Immigration Department will handle MEV issuance during PLKS renewals next year. This system aims to improve oversight of foreign worker movements while reducing visa misuse risks. The ministry expects the change to ease congestion at Malaysian embassies abroad. The MEV facility underscores Malaysia's commitment to ethical labour cooperation with Bangladesh. It also aligns with efforts to protect foreign workers' rights under local and international laws. - Bernama
