VIRGINIA BEACH — Summer is right around the corner and so are those iconic sky blue Virginia Beach trolleys.
The VB Wave trolley service returns for the summer season Sunday with an extended route and a new app to pay for fares.
Trolley ridership was up 59% last year as compared with 2023, according to Hampton Roads Transit, which operates the routes. New this year, Route 31, which services campgrounds and the Virginia Aquarium, will extend from Rudee Inlet to Atlantic Avenue and 18th Street.
Also new this season, riders can purchase tickets through the new GoMobile app with a credit card. Mobile ticketing is only available for The VB Wave trolley — not other HRT services.
An adult single trip on VB Wave costs $2; a one-day pass is $4.50, and a three-day pass is $8. Discounted fees are available. Children ride for free while accompanied by a fare-paying adult.
VB Wave also connects to HRT bus lines, including Routes 20 and 960 express service to downtown Norfolk.
The trolleys, augmented by regular HRT buses, serve three routes:
Route 30: Extends from one end of Atlantic Avenue to the other. Stops along the way at shops, restaurants, museums and more with service about every 15 minutes from 8 a.m.-2 a.m. daily through the Neptune Festival, Sept. 26-28.
Route 31 (aquarium/campground): This route is being extended from Rudee Inlet to Atlantic Avenue and 18th Street from campgrounds and tennis courts, fun parks and the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center. Route 31 will operate daily every 20 minutes from 9:30 a.m.-11:10 p.m. through Labor Day and again on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only from Sept. 5 through the Neptune Festival.
Route 35 (Bayfront Shuttle): Services between Parks Avenue/19th Street up Pacific Avenue to Shore Drive/Pleasure House Road. Route 35 services the Oceanfront, First Landing State Park, Edgar Cayce's A.R.E., Fort Story at Atlantic Avenue and 88th Street, North End beaches, Chesapeake Bay beaches and bayfront restaurants on Shore Drive. Operates daily, about every 30 minutes, from 8 a.m.-12:30 a.m. through Labor Day and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only through the Neptune Festival.

The ultimate guide to Taylor Swift graded collectibles: cards, signed albums, and one-of-a-kind memorabilia

Taylor Swift joined her boyfriend's podcast this week to announce her new album, delivering a welcome surprise in what had been a quiet offseason for the couple. Her boyfriend, who, incidentally, plays professional football for the Kansas City Chiefs, co-hosts a popular podcast with his brother. It turns out the break wasn't downtime after all, at least not for Taylor Swift. The new album announcement quickly took over all of the internet. And in today's collecting world, big cultural moments don't just live on streaming platforms or social media feeds, they're immortalized in collectibles. Trading cards and PSA-graded pieces are no longer reserved for sports and Pokémon fans. The Rolling Stones recently launched a Panini trading card set complete with band autographs and Color Blast inserts familiar to sports collectors. Movie and TV tie-ins are booming too, with popular sets celebrating everything from Star Wars to Stranger Things. Leaf's Pop Century remains one of the hobby's most sought-after non-sports releases, delivering autographs from celebrities across music, film, and beyond. So where are the Taylor Swift cards? A few do exist, just not as many as you might expect. Let's dive into the world of Taylor Swift trading cards, autographs, and other memorabilia making waves in the hobby. Taylor Swift custom cards There is perhaps no bigger tell that the hobby is clamoring for Taylor Swift cards than the sheer number of custom cards on eBay. You can find them from $5 to $50, many of which copy — 'plagiarize' may be more accurate — popular sports cards inserts. Buy on eBay | Ranges from ~$5 to $50 Taylor Swift authenticated cut autograph cards As close to licensed autographs as fans can get right now, there are a slew of hand-cut autos either authenticated by eBay or produced by Leaf in their 2021 Pop Century set. The BGS authentication verifies that the signature is legitimate, and when paired with the custom design, it makes for a fun addition to any collector's mantelpiece. Buy on eBay | Ranges from ~$90 to ~$500 2011 Topps American Pie #196 Kanye West/Taylor Swift Taylor's first official Topps card commemorates the infamous VMA moment. PSA 10 versions of this card sell for over $500 with the foil version selling for over $1,000 in high grades. At the moment, for non-auto Taylor memorabilia, this is the gold standard for pop culture collectors. Buy on eBay | PSA 10 ~$500 Femme Force: Taylor Swift comic TidalWave Comics publishes a biographical series called Female Force, spotlighting notable women from various fields. One installment centers on Taylor Swift, detailing her musical journey, influence on her audience, and philanthropic efforts. Special editions were also produced, including a foil-cover variant autographed by the illustrator. Buy on eBay | Ranges from ~$10 to ~$300 depending on Variant Nashville 2006 self-promo card Taylor apparently gave this promo card away on the streets of Nashville in 2006 to promote her first single and Myspace account when she was just starting out. Sports Card Investor Geoff Wilson posted this pickup back in 2023. Taylor Swift | Travis Kelce PiggyBanx "Taylor Made" Good 2 1st Edition Razz Refractor #1/1 with case During the hype of Taylor and Travis last year, PiggyBanx released this 1/1 'Taylor Made' custom card that sold for $1000 on Pristine Auctions. Graded Taylor Swift signed albums Graded Taylor Swift signed albums gained traction last year and have continued to grow in popularity. The sheer number of fakes out there make graded copies of this collectible very desirable. Buy on eBay | Ranges from $400 - $1,000 Topps Chrome Garbage Pail Kids 2017, 2022, and 2024 tributes Calling any GPK card a tribute is perhaps a bit unfair but they have been crafting fun cards of Swift for nearly a decade. Base versions of these cards sell for less than $10 with the numbered and graded versions selling for hundreds. Buy on eBay | Base version ~$8 Taylor Swift's reach is global, and her collectibles reflect that same worldwide appeal. From rare signed albums to custom cards, her memorabilia connects fans across borders and hobbies. As she continues to be a global superpower you can expect to see the volume, and value, of her collectibles increase alongside her starpower. The Traitors Announces All-Civilian Version to Air on NBC — Apply Now!

The Traitors fans, now's your chance to do a little backstabbing of your own. NBC will air an all-civilian version of the hit reality competition, TVLine has learned. Typically, The Traitors — which airs on streamer Peacock — features celebrities competing for the cash prize, but this time, ordinary fans will play the game, with Alan Cumming returning as host. (Other international versions of The Traitors, including the UK and Australia, feature everyday people as contestants.) More from TVLine Casting News: St. Denis Medical Pages Ariana Madix, Boyd Holbrook Joins Extraction and More Exiting Chicago Fire Star Daniel Kyri Says Emotional Goodbye to His Character Darren Ritter: 'You Made History' Jon Miyahara, Superstore's Silent Scene Stealer, Dead at 83 Filming on the NBC version will get underway next year; those interested in applying to be a contestant can do so at 'We are looking for smart, strategic everyday people to compete in the ultimate game of trust & treachery,' the website says, with a chance to win up to $250,000. 'We're excited to bring along The Traitors' highly addictive fan base as we discover the next generation of legendary gamers and schemers,' NBCUniversal Entertainment executive vice president of unscripted programming Sharon Vuong said in a statement. 'With our resident host and gameplay master of ceremonies, Alan Cumming, on board to introduce complete strangers to new epic missions and twisted gameplay, this new version for NBC offers a unique opportunity for the cast and audience to meet each other for the first time and we know it will be incredible to watch.' For those uninitiated, The Traitors brings its players to a remote Scottish castle, where a small number of them are secretly designated 'traitors,' tasked with 'murdering,' or eliminating from the game, one of their fellow players each night. But the other players, dubbed the 'faithful,' can get rid of the traitors by voting out one of their own each night at the round table. At the end of the game, if the faithful get rid of all the traitors, they split the cash prize — but if even one traitor remains, they take home all the money. Debuting in the Netherlands in 2021, The Traitors has spawned more than 30 (!) international editions, with the U.S. version bowing on Peacock in 2023. The first season mixed reality TV celebrities like Survivor alum Cirie Fields with everyday people, but the subsequent two seasons have been all celebrities. The show has become a runaway hit for Peacock, winning the Emmy last year for best reality competition. Season 4 of The Traitors is expected to air on Peacock early next year — with a cast including former Real Housewife Lisa Rinna, actor Michael Rapaport and football mom Donna Kelce — and the show has already been renewed for a fifth season. Taylor Swift Breaks A Record Previously Held By Trump, And She Did It In Just An Hour

We're sure there will be bad blood. Taylor Swift has broken a record previously held by President Donald Trump. On Wednesday, the Grammy winner appeared on the 'New Heights' podcast hand-in-hand with her boyfriend and co-host Travis Kelce, as his older brother, Jason Kelce, interviewed Swift for a little over two hours. The Daily Beast reports that 1.3 million viewers tuned to watch the podcast episode on YouTube within the first hour that it was online. The outlet notes that reps for the 'Shake It Off' singer confirmed the number. The figure trumps the record previously held by Trump. His appearance on the 'Joe Rogan Experience' in October 2024 saw 800,000 people tune in within the first hour, according to CNN data analyst Harry Enten. CNN host Kate Bolduan also noted Wednesday the episode is 'already on track to become one of the most watched podcasts of all time.' Trump will likely be pretty peeved about Swift mopping him up. The president expressed hostility towards the 'Blank Space' singer after she publicly endorsed Kamala Harris in the build-up to the 2024 presidential election. 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,' he wrote in all caps on his Truth Social platform at the time. In May, the president proved he was no Swiftie yet again when he published another post on Truth Social that read: 'Has anyone noticed that, since I said 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,' she's no longer 'HOT?'' We suppose that at least 1.3 million people think otherwise.
