Abuser Joel Deering - played by Calum Lill - will be making one more shock appearance - despite being dead.
An insider told us: 'Calum has been back filming and viewers will be seeing him on screen again soon.
'He might be dead but there is lots more to say about that murder and he is likely to be involved in some flashback scenes.'
Last year Joel had been primed for justice with a lengthy prison spell awaiting him - but instead the powers that be and a crowbar put paid to that.
The character was killed on September 27, and his body was later discovered in a river.
It sparked a huge mystery about who was behind it and viewers watched for months, desperate to see who was behind it.
It was later revealed that Lauren Bolton had killed Joel by hitting him with a rock after he tried to strangle her boyfriend, Max Turner.
Max ended up taking the blame, but feeling guilty and concerned about Max's welfare, Lauren confided in Shona Platt, who alerted David Platt to the situation.
The police were then brought in, and Lauren admitted to DC Kit Green that she was the one who had delivered the fatal blow to Joel.
Some viewers believed Joel was wrapped in a body bag when he was found, but soap expert Sharon Marshall has put those theories to rest.
Coronation Street airs evil Joel Deering's final scenes as he skips court and threatens Roy Cropper
The 'Queen of Soaps' from This Morning took to social media, clarifying: "Ok., to answer this one.., Joel was not in a body bag!"
She shared a screenshot of the moment Joel's body was discovered, adding: "He was face down, his jacket wet, and it was a trick of the light that made a rock look like his head… Joel IS dead. There is no extra twist coming."

Vicki takes action to keep EastEnders abuser Joel out of jail after assault
Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) makes it her mission to protect Joel Marshall (Max Murray) after his commits another sex offence in EastEnders next week. As viewers of the BBC One soap have seen, Joel is deeply troubled, and is the reason his family were forced to flee from Australia. After upskirting a school mate, his dad Ross (Alex Walkinshaw) coughed up a whopping $50,000 to keep the girl's silence, but her family also demanded that they leave the country. Since settling in Walford, it seems that his behaviour hasn't changed. Not only has he introduced naïve Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to pornography, but he also decided to record sexual content of his own. Growing closer to Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James), he secretly filmed them having sex – a video which a horrified Ross later discovered on his son's phone. In upcoming scenes, his behaviour worsens, despite demands from both Ross and Vicki for him to change his ways. Having spent the day with Tommy, the lads board an underground train and Joel decides to entwine him further into a web of misbehaviour. He pulls out his phone, and instructs Tommy to start recording. Stumbling through the carriage, he pretends to fall on a fellow passenger named Isla, who he goes onto touch inappropriately. Tommy is stunned by what he sees, as a terrified Isla rushes to report him to the police that are present in the tube station. Joel is apprehended and hauled in for questioning – just as Ross and Vicki witness what is happening. Down at the cop shop, Ross demands answers from the teen, as Vicki corners Isla and tries to comfort her. Vicki is supportive of the girl's decision to report Joel, and hopes that it will be the kick he needs to stop his alarming behaviour patterns. She then passes on her number in case she needs anything further from the family. Later that night, she comes up with a cunning plan, inspired by Ross' actions Down Under. Coronation Street hints at shock new story - and Gary will pay
Gary Windass (Mikey North) looks set to be targeted in a new Coronation Street story after Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) swore she would do 'anything to survive'. Lou isn't the most popular person on the cobbles, given that her husband Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) murdered Craig Tinker. So far, Gary is the only person to have really given her the time of day, and she is certainly taking advantage of his kindness. In tonight's episode, he agreed to buy Mick's van from her after learning that she was struggling with money. He also offered her some advice – to pick a side in order to make peace with the rest of the community. When Lou took this a little too literally and turned up at Craig's memorial, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) was furious – even more so when Gary defended her. Having outstayed her welcome at the memorial, Lou went to visit Mick in prison. More Trending When she got there, she told Mick about Gary's kindness, which only upset him as he accused her of cheating. Though she protested her innocence, she pointed out that since Mick had been behind bars she had been struggling to make ends meet and would do whatever it took to survive. She implied that Mick had no right to argue given that it was his fault they were in this position, and she seemed determined to carry on with whatever she was planning.
