Title: Spaun drops out of lead
Content: Spaun -2 (16)
JJ Spaun can't see the putting surface despite only being about two yards from it. That's because his ball is buried at the bottom of a six-foot high bank that leads up to the green. He pops his ball out with ease but he's going to have a 12-footer to save par.
Another tentative putt and his ball wanders off right. Successive bogeys but still Sam Burns isn't the sole leader...

Title: DeChambeau in danger
Content: Schauffele +4, DeChambeau +8 (14*)
Bryson DeChambeau spits his ball out of the bunker and over the hole it squirts leaving a gnarly putt from 18 feet for bogey.
He misses that and suddenly he's at +8 - and the cut is at +7.
Bad time to make a double bogey.
Playing partner Xander Schauffele also drops a shot but he's much safer at four over par.

It took Thriston Lawrence three hours and seven minutes to play his first nine holes.
But now on his (easier ahem) back nine, he almost eagles the first and will have a tap in for birdie.

A couple of marshals go scurrying into the cabbage to the right of the 16th green. They are hunting for JJ Spaun's ball after the American leaked his tee shot on the par-three hole.
Three to play JJ, don't let it slide now.

Problems for defending champion Bryson DeChambeau at the fifth and he looks to the heavens as his third shot ends up buried in a greenside bunker.
He'll need to hole that to make par.
Two above the projected cut line, it's about damage limitation here.

Title: Spaun drops into share of lead
Content: Spaun -3 (15)
Slow down JJ, slow down. He hits an express train putt on the 15th that leaves him a six-footer for par. And he gives that a tentative stab wide right. Shot gone.
Sam Burns will be sitting in his rented house, munching popcorn and loving the fact he's suddenly in a share of the lead.

Justin Rose carded an eight on the par-five 12th after having a bit of a nightmare getting out of a fairway bunker.
He now birdies the 13th. What a funny old game this is.
Still the Englishman, who lost in a play-off to Rory McIlroy at Augusta National earlier this season, will be getting a weekend off.

Title: Birdie for Scott

Impressive from Adam Scott who follows up that bogey at the last with an immediate rebound birdie at the 14th.
The 2013 Masters champion isn't going anywhere.

Thriston Lawrence hasn't hit that long par putt and is trending in the wrong direction after such a positive start to the day.
The South African has work to do just to come off the 18th with a five but holds his nerve to sink a tricky six footer.

JJ Spaun doesn't look overly pleased with his second into the 15th. But from 180 yards, to finish pin-high, 25 feet from the hole would seem a reasonable effort.

Rory McIlroy was positively simmering after a poor second shot but he gets his fourth down to four feet and tidies up to save his par to keep himself in with a decent shout of making the weekend.

Title: Bogey-free Mav on the climb
Content: McNealy +3 (13)
The wonderfully named Maverick McNealy is the only man yet to card a bogey in round two.
The American has just birdied the short 13th, his third of the day, and is making a significant move up the leaderboard.

Thriston Lawrence has a horrible lie about 15 feet from the pin but he's in rough and has virtually no control over his chip which squirts out to 50 feet.
Tough putt to save par from there.

Title: Frustrated McIlroy throws club down the fairway
Content: McIlroy +8 (11)
Rory McIlroy is fuming and shows his frustration as he tosses one of his irons down the 12th fairway after a wayward approach to the green that flies left straight into the rough.
He chunks his third into the green but it rolls off to the thicker stuff on the fringe.

Title: Lip-out for Spaun
Content: Spaun -4 (14)
JJ Spaun has a good look at a birdie on the 14th to move two clear. The ball is right on line but catches the left edge, completes three-quarters of a circle and eventually decides to stay above ground.

Title: Birdie for Lefty
Content: Mickelson +4 (11)
Phil Mickelson turns 55 the day after this tournament finishes. He has said it's likely to be his last crack at his national championship - the only one of the four majors he's failed to win - six times a runner-up though.
There's life in the old dog yet. A birdie on the 11th is keeping him well inside the cut mark.

Title: Bogey for Scott

Adam Scott's in the bunker at the par-three 13th and can't get up and down to save his par.
He'll drop back to one over - still in the top 10 though.

Thriston Lawrence finds the long prairie-style grass on the 305-yard par-four 17th going for the green.

This correspondent was doing what was expected of a white, northern, elder teenager of the time; tending to my hair curtains, grappling with the new concept called 'alcopops', having loud singalongs to a certain guitar band and noting what a shambles the once dominant Conservative party now appeared to be. Alongside this, anybody paying attention to rugby union football will have become bored of Bath and Leicester's apparent sharing protocol for all the major trophies of the previous decade: 'to me, to you', as some other cultural behemoths of the time would say. Sound familiar? Well it should given much of the above list is happening again this very summer, including a rematch between the Gallaghers and a season decider between the historic rivals in English domestic rugby. Bath haven't won the big one since 1996 after professionalism derailed their dominance, leaving them to gaze jealously from afar at Leicester's late 90s and early 2000s imperial phase. The form of the whole season points to a cathartic win for the team from the west country, but don't rule out the Tigers' pedigree and coach Michael Cheika's moxie and wit on the big stage. What's The Story (Morning Glory)? There will be a few thumping heads tomorrow and soon find out which set of players will have the far preferable celebratory version of a hangover.

From Wrexham to King's Lynn via Hollywood

King's Lynn Town's new signing Reece Hall-Johnson will bring a bit of Hollywood magic to The Walks next 30-year-old began his career at Norwich City and also played over 60 games for Wrexham - the club owned by superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney."Ryan and Rob would pop over and come to watch training or be around the place, you end up seeing them as kind of your friends and people you know," said defender signed for National North side King's Lynn from London club Barnet. Hall-Johnson began his career in Norfolk with Norwich City and still regards the FA Youth Cup win in 2013 as the highlight of his career. "The majority of us still keep in contact. We had a lot of talented players and a talented coach and manager in Neil Adams. "He believed in us and gave us the confidence to play with freedom, so that's why I owe a lot to Norwich," he told BBC Radio Norfolk. After departing the Canaries, Hall-Johnson had spells at Grimsby and Northampton Town amongst others - before joining the Hollywood revolution in North Wales at Wrexham. "After playing for Northampton, I moved to what people call 'the Hollywood club' nowadays. "That was very interesting, very fun. I spent three years at Wrexham and absolutely loved it and the owners there are fantastic."Hall-Johnson continued, "Everyone has seen how Ryan (Reynolds) and Rob (McElhenney) have done and it's just a testament to them that they've been able to do well with the club, so I couldn't have a bad word to say about them. "We achieved promotion from the National League to League Two, which was really good."Since Hall-Johnson left Wrexham, the club has had two more promotions and will compete in the Championship next season. It's the first time the team has been in the second tier of English football since 1982. So could Hall-Johnson's new club King's Lynn Town emulate Wrexham's rapid rise up the football pyramid?Last season the Linnets reached the National North playoffs before losing to club has a new owner and a new head coach, with former Chesterfield boss James Rowe taking over from the departing Adam says he is targeting another promotion to add to his CV."I spoke to the gaffer and he had a clear vision of where he wanted to take the club and a clear vision of what he wants to do in his career. "That made it an easy decision for me to come to King's Lynn."He continued: "For me, this is closer to the area where I grew up and closer to friends and family. Hopefully the fans will really like me and we can kick on and get promoted." Follow Norfolk news on BBC Sounds, Facebook, external, Instagram, external and X, external.
