This Anker gizmo replaced my 3 most-used chargers — it's at its lowest price ever

Yahoo28-07-2025
As a tech-obsessed shopping editor who honestly spends way too much on electronics, I'm a sucker for multiuse products that help me save space and reduce clutter. This three-port Anker charger is one of my favorite tried-and-true tech finds that actually does what it's meant to do, and does it well — and that's charging up to three devices at once. Best of all, though, it's only $26.
Why is this a good deal? 💰
I purchased this three-port adapter a few months ago as a space-saving travel tech solution since I didn't want to pack the respective chargers for my laptop, AirPods and phone. I wish I had waited, because it's currently $14 off. This is the lowest it's been. Ever.
Why do I need this? 🤔
If, like me, you'd rather pack (and charge) smarter, this Anker three-port charger is just what you need. It has two USB-C ports (one for your laptop and the other for your phone) and one USB-A port for charging any other device you may have, like AirPods or even a smartwatch.
I've tried a couple of other three-port chargers in the past, and the charging time on those often lagged when I added more devices. With this one, they all charged pretty quickly, and that's because this adapter has a fast-charging feature that gives all three connected devices a boost. The brand says that power is distributed efficiently between the ports to ensure you get the best charge. After using this myself for months, I can say that Anker kept its word.
The charger is thoughtfully designed and doesn't take up more space than needed when plugged into a power strip. For comparison, you know how the MacBook Pro charger is so bulky that it can block another outlet opening? Since this one is slim and upright, it only takes up one space, leaving the others free for other devices.
The Anker is compatible with all major devices, including the MacBook Pro and Air, Windows laptops, Android smartphones, iPhones, AirPods and other earbuds, and plenty more.
What reviewers say 💬
I'm not the only one who gives this charger two thumbs up. Over 14,000 five-star fans also gave it their stamp of approval.
Pros 👍
"This is a must-have for anyone looking to streamline their charging setup," one shopper wrote. "It offers rapid, efficient charging, great portability and compatibility with a wide range of devices ... and it stays securely in the wall, which is a huge plus."
One reviewer was impressed with the fast-charging feature, writing, "We have Samsung 6 watches, and it only takes an hour to charge, whereas our old one takes four hours."
"It doesn't take up any more room on the wall outlet or your power strip than a regular cord and doesn't hog the outlet plugs on either side of it," another shopper said.
Cons 👎
A few buyers had some minor design-tweak suggestions. One shopper said he wished there was a "tiny power and charging indicator" on it to indicate that it's in use.
Another said it would've been nice if "it was flatter," but acknowledged that "it is nice and compact for travel."

Gemini on Android is getting ready to listen to your audio files (APK teardown)

Ryan Haines / Android Authority TL;DR In the latest beta of the Gemini Android app, we spotted an option to attach audio files, such as MP3s, to chats. A 'Talk live about this' prompt also appears, but the audio isn't accurately processed yet. While the feature might not be fully operational, we know that Gemini can comprehend audio. Ever wished you could just throw an MP3 at Gemini and have it explain what it's about? That might be coming soon, as we've spotted early signs of audio file support in the Gemini app for Android. ⚠️ An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possible that such predicted features may not make it to a public release. In version of the Google app beta, we managed to activate a new file attachment feature when chatting with Gemini. You can now attach audio files like MP3s, and when you do, Gemini shows a new suggestion: 'Talk live about this.' That sounds promising, but it doesn't actually work yet. After uploading an audio file, you can either type a regular question or choose to 'talk live' about it. In both cases, Gemini doesn't seem to understand or respond to the file in any meaningful way. Sometimes it ignores the audio entirely. Other times, it confidently makes things up, as seen in the third screenshot below, but chatbot hallucinations aren't exclusive to audio files or Gemini. Still, it's not hard to see where this is going. On the developer side, Gemini already supports audio input through the API. You can feed it audio and ask it to describe what it hears, summarize it, or transcribe what's being said. It even handles timestamp requests like 'from 2:30 to 3:29,' and works with formats like MP3, WAV, and FLAC. That's likely what Google is building toward on the Android app — we're just not there yet. For now, it's more like a placeholder than a finished feature, and there's also no guarantee when or if it will launch. However, with image uploads now widely available in the Gemini app, audio support seems like a logical next step. Follow

Reddit Accelerates Innovation and Slashes Build Times with Buildkite

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Buildkite Pty Ltd., a leader in scalable software delivery solutions, today announced that Reddit, one of the world's largest online communities with more than over 400M weekly active users, has successfully migrated its mobile continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to Buildkite, dramatically improving build performance, reliability, and developer autonomy across its mobile engineering organization. By adopting Buildkite's high-performance hosted agents and dynamic pipeline primitives, Reddit has reduced build queue times to just seconds and accelerated build speeds by 30% for both Android and iOS workflows, while maintaining cost efficiency. By adopting Buildkite's high-performance hosted agents and dynamic pipeline primitives, Reddit has reduced build queue times to just seconds and accelerated build speeds by 30% for both Android and iOS workflows, while maintaining cost efficiency. Share 'With Buildkite, we finally have the reliability and performance at scale that our mobile teams were missing,' said Ken Struys, Reddit's Director of Developer Experience. 'We've seen a significant improvement to the overall developer experience, and both Android and iOS CI are more than 30% faster on Buildkite.' Facing growing demands from millions of global users and a rapidly expanding codebase, Reddit's mobile teams had outgrown their previous CI/CD provider. Lack of ability to control the build environment meant they couldn't use custom Docker images (as they can with Buildkite). The team also struggled with configuration complexity, with 6,000 lines of YAML split across multiple files, in addition to unreliable builds due to environment drift and dependency failures. Reddit's migration to Buildkite, affecting over 200 mobile engineers, was completed ahead of schedule and involved a full transition of both Android and iOS mono repositories. The company leveraged Buildkite's composable pipeline primitives to create custom workflows that seamlessly integrated with Bazel and BuildBuddy, allowing both iOS and Android apps to be built efficiently on Linux runners with remote execution. Dynamic pipelines enabled Reddit to build powerful CI systems with less cruft and less code repetition. Comprehensive benchmarking revealed that Reddit's builds now run up to 30% faster, with job queue times consistently dropping to around five seconds. Buildkite's Git caching and container caching features were 'absolute game changers,' reducing Git checkout times from several minutes to 30-40 seconds. Intelligent build cancellation and log customization further improved developer experience and operational efficiency. The migration was conducted by a remarkably lean core team. 'We built most of the Android pipelines and the iOS pipelines with two people,' said Struys. 'You don't need massive engineering resources to use Buildkite, but the scale is tremendous. We've got 170 plus engineers on it now, and most of our builds are running like 12 to 15 jobs in each field now.' It was also executed with exceptional care through a staged approach, including having shadow builds running in parallel to production systems to ensure a zero-risk transition. Buildkite's team provided responsive support and delivered custom feature requests, including a GitHub App for GitHub Enterprise Server, throughout the process. "Reddit's successful migration exemplifies the transformative power of modern, composable CI/CD architecture," said Dan Ring, Vice President of Product at Buildkite, who worked closely with the company on the migration. "When engineering organizations outgrow traditional CI/CD limitations, they need a platform that can deliver both immediate performance gains and long-term scalability. Reddit's experience demonstrates what's possible when you combine Buildkite's high-performance hosted agents with our flexible, composable primitives. This isn't just about faster builds, it's about unleashing engineering teams to innovate at the speed their users demand." For more information, see Reddit's blog post here. Google Home can't catch a break, as Routines widget vanishes

TL;DR One of the widgets offered by the Google app has been a shortcut for accessing your Home Routines. In the latest Google app beta, the Routine widget is no longer available. This loss arrives right in the middle of a growing period of Google Home frustration. If you're interested in putting together a particularly impressive smart home setup, Google Home's Routines are probably your best friend. While getting them configured can take a minute, especially if they involve dozens of devices (like all your lights), once established Routines make it a snap to trigger complex actions with just a single command. So far, Google has offered Home users a handy shortcut for controlling all those Routines in the form of a desktop widget. While it doesn't let you activate Routines directly from your home screen, it does offer a quick way to jump that list. Old list of widgets Old Routines widget New list without Routines While it could certainly be more full-featured, that was still a nice option to have, which is why we're a little concerned to see Google take it away. While looking through the latest beta release of the Google app for Android, we noticed that where the app used to offer four widgets and one shortcut, that count has now dropped to three — and it's the Routines widget that doesn't make the cut. Honestly, losing this isn't going to be the end of the world, but more than anything, maybe we're just disappointed about how this removal looks in the context of the ongoing frustrations surrounding Google Home. It really doesn't feel like it would have been that much more effort to give us a new-and-improved Routines widget with direct access to our most-used ones, but rather than be bothered to do that, Google just seems to be abandoning the whole thing. It's possible that that Google really does have a new version of this tool waiting in the wings — but then why not coordinate its debut to coincide with retiring the old look? We're also holding out hope that this is just some kind of beta oversight that may not show up in the final, public release of this build. Because when we look at this change right now, it really just feels like Home and its associated features are not a big priority. Follow
