MasterChef viewers demand contestant is 'disqualified' after he makes a MAJOR blunder
But viewers were venting their fury for a wholly different reason after Wednesday's episode, as they demanded a contestant be 'disqualified' for a major gaffe.
The show saw the remaining six contenders - Naomi, Martin, Joy, Michael, Reuben and Victoria - face the challenge of impressing Gregg and John with their 'basic to brilliant' creations.
Contestants were ask to transform everyday home cooking into something 'extraordinary', and IT project manager Reuben chose to present traditional meatballs alongside handmade pappardelle pasta in tomato sauce.
Things took a turn when Gregg cut into the meatballs to taste them, only to discover they were still raw inside.
Despite earning praise for his pasta and sauce, Gregg and John were quick to share thoughts on the main element of the dish being undercooked.
Gregg said: 'Big issue with the meatballs,' whilst John added: 'I cannot ignore the fact that you've got meatballs that aren't cooked all the way through.'
Visibly dejected by the feedback, Reuben admitted: 'I'm feeling deflated. After all, they weren't cooked all the way through, so I can forgive them for not wanting to eat them.'
Viewers were also quick to make their feelings known on social media, with some claiming Reuben should be 'disqualified' for the gaffe.
Posts on X included: 'Undercooked meatballs should be instant disqualification;
'Were they cooked with a blowtorch?;
'Sorry, but that's a major schoolboy error at the stage he should absolutely be disqualified. Shame.'
Reuben's meant he ultimately missed out on a place in the quarter-finals, and he was sent home along with Joy and Martin.
It comes days after MasterChef was ripped to shreds for its 'disgraceful' editing of Gregg in its latest episode, with viewers declaring: 'Is this for real?'
Viewers were also quick to make their feelings known on social media, with some claiming Reuben should be 'disqualified' for the gaffe
Gregg and co-host John Torode were sacked after almost 20 years on the show by the BBC last month after an investigation upheld allegations about their poor behaviour.
Wallace had 40 complaints upheld, including one where he was accused of wandering around set naked with a sock on his penis. Torode was found to have used a racist term in 2018.
Their final series of MasterChef was filmed before they were both fired. The show's bosses have insisted on keeping them in the final edit - but only if they were on screen less and their banter and jokes were cut down to a minimum.
Several contestants asked to be edited out themselves to avoid being on screen with them.
Daily Mail revealed that viewers have pointed out 'disgraceful' edits in the new series on BBC One and iPlayer, with many cuts appearing awkward and repetitive, including those of Mr Wallace.
In one scene shown last week, stills of Gregg pulling the same face three times in around a minute made it to air - with many suggesting that the BBC and production company Banijay used the same footage of the disgraced host repeatedly through the show.
Some of his fans have even claimed the edits, where Gregg gives a semi-gurning smile, were deliberately to embarrass him and 'make him look demented'.
TikTok user Gingernat Design shared a particularly unusual example, writing: 'Clever editing from MasterChef.
'Whether this is to do with the allegations or not I don't know, but it's jokes how they just froze Gregg Wallace for an entire conversation.'
The now-viral clip sees a contestant discuss her performance with Torode and Wallace.
The same shot of Wallace appears to be used three times in succession - and he is seen with a broad grin fixed on his face.
The uncanny scene has horrified fans, who rushed to social media to express their disapproval.

Catfish fans rejoice as beloved reality series finds new home after MTV UK axe
The hit show has a new home for viewers in the UK Fans of Catfish: The TV show can now stream the hit reality series for free as it has just landed a brand new streaming home. First aired in 2012 on MTV, the reality series sees friends and co-hosts Nev Shulman and Max Joseph helps people who have fallen in love online meet their partners in real life. The goal is to answer the all-important question of whether the person they've connected with is actually who they say they are. The series was born out of the 2010 documentary film Catfish, starring Nev, which followed him as he built a relationship online with a woman named 'Angela' before discovering months on that she was not as she first appeared. It was directed by Nev's brother Ariel Shulman and Henry Joost. There have now been nine seasons of the main Catfish show, with multiple spin-offs including a UK-based version fronted by Oobah Butler and Nella Rose, although it failed to impress and was cancelled after three seasons. Other Catfish-inspired series include Catfish: Trolls, which tackles anonymous internet bullies, and Ghosted: Love Gone Missing, which helps reunite individuals with people who totally cut off contact. But for fans of the OG show, there's good news as it is now available to stream on the free platform, Pluto TV. The service has a dedicated Catfish channel viewers can tune in to which shows back to back episodes, or they can also view the first six seasons on demand. Fans of the show often dissect their favourite episodes online, with one declaring their "must-watch" episode. They shared: "Season 1, episode 7 is SO JUICY. It is AMAZING and a must watch. I've watched it 5 times." Another fan chimed in with their recommendation, saying: "The first episode ever is good for one, the early 2000s fashion and for two, IMO the catfishee was the f***** up one. Actually the whole first 2 seasons I recently watched and they rarely disappointed." Meanwhile a third added: "Episode 2 Trina and Scorpio. Trina was so sweet. Same season, Rod and Ebony was interesting. Episode 4 Jasmine and Mike had an iconic result," as a fourth suggested: "S3, E2 Antwane and Tony had a pretty surprising twist..." Pluto TV also has two seasons of Catfish UK for viewers to stream. Its synopsis reads: "Oobah Butler and co-host Nella Rose are here to help you get to the bottom of your online romances and find out once and for all if the person you've fallen for is real."

He complained that I had a bigger dressing room than he had. "He was horrible to the young women on the staff, unnecessarily grand, and then, when he was on, he didn't seem to know anything." US film producer David made several appearances in UK reality television. He starred in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! back in 2006, placing fourth. Hostage review: Suranne Jones does her best, but this woke Netflix thriller is over-egged nonsense, says CHRISTOPHER STEVENS
Hostage (Netflix) Head for the bunkers – nuclear grade hokum incoming! The heart of British democracy is under attack, not from the Russians, nor Islamist extremists, but from an even bigger bunch of loonies... Netflix. The five-part political drama Hostage sees Suranne Jones playing a Labour prime minister who has to save the NHS (hurrah!) while facing down a neo-Fascist French president (boo!) planning to station Euro-troops in England (boo! hiss!). Meanwhile, there's a boatload of African asylum seekers fleeing persecution who need safe haven in the UK – and, gulp, they've all got ebola. And just when you think the stakes couldn't be any higher, masked gunmen only go and kidnap the PM's lovely husband, Dr Alex (Ashley Thomas). He's in South America with a Medecins Sans Frontieres team, giving vaccinations to happy village children and their poor-but-grateful mums, when terrorists take all the doctors prisoner. They shoot a translator dead. At first this appears to be more proof of what rotten rotters they are, but Dr Alex overhears them talking in English, so perhaps they just realised they wouldn't need a translator. With a gun to his head, Dr Alex is forced to record a video message to his wife. She must resign within 24 hours or one of the hostages will be killed. Suranne Jones, who excels at melodrama, does her best to breathe credibility into all this over-egged nonsense. We're so used to seeing her in extreme situations – wreaking vengeance on an unfaithful husband in Doctor Foster, solving murders aboard a submarine in Vigil – that it doesn't seem too delulu when she takes command of a hostage rescue attempt... and then apologises to the Chief of the Defence Staff for failing to let him know what she was doing. Mind you, it's not much of a rescue. British special forces have apparently been reduced to one soldier, a grizzled veteran called Thomas. And he's armed only with a pistol and a telescopic camera that looks as though he ordered it from one of those sales booklets that fall out of the Sunday supplements. He probably bought a nice pair of orthopaedic sandals and a reversible jacket at the same time. If the PM has any chance of getting her husband back, she's going to have to rely on the French military. But President Vivienne Toussaint (Julie Delpy) has her own problems – she's been having an affair with someone she really shouldn't, and now a blackmailer is threatening to release a video of them in bed together. No wonder Vivienne is so spiteful and mean to her family... though it doesn't explain why, when they're alone, they speak English with 'Allo 'Allo accents. If all that stretches your credulity, consider this. It's only in a fictional drama as bonkers as this that Labour can manage to elect a female leader.
