King Charles, David Beckham unite at Chelsea Flower Show amid growing family tensions
King Charles and David Beckham did little to quiet speculation surrounding their respective family feuds as they shared laughs with each other at an event in London.
Just days after their estranged sons reunited over an intimate dinner, the former England captain attended the Chelsea Flower Show to watch the monarch have a new rose named in his honour.
The pink and white flower was created by David Austin Roses in collaboration with The King's Foundation, a charity for which Beckham serves as an ambassador.
With The King's Rose pinned to his beige suit, Beckham made more than a polite gesture — it was a quiet display of loyalty to Charles.
Beckham reportedly greeted the sovereign and said, 'Your Majesty, it's so nice to see you.'
Surprisingly, Charles then appeared to ask whether he had received his 50th birthday present.
'You got it, didn't you?,' he was heard saying.
Beckham replied, 'It was incredible, thank you. It was very kind.'
Queen Camilla was also heard saying it was nice to see Beckham again at the annual gardening event and asked about his wife Victoria Beckham, according to
The Sun
.
The cheerful exchange comes just days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle threw their support behind Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz amid ongoing tensions with the Beckham family.
The Sussexes invited the young couple to their Montecito mansion in California for dinner, a gesture that firmly indicates where they stand on the feud.
It is believed that Markle and Peltz had a 'deep and meaningful conversation' where they found 'common ground' after both being accused of destroying their husbands' families.
'Meghan had a lot of sympathy for her, and said there was shared common ground,' the insider said.
Rumours of tension began swirling earlier this month when Beckham and Peltz skipped the football star's 50th birthday celebrations.

David Beckham 'honoured' by new project days after knighthood reports
David Beckham is "honoured" to be the next guest editor of Country Life magazine. The 50-year-old retired footballer - who bought a £16 million Cotswolds mansion with wife Victoria, 51, in 2016 - is excited to share his passion for the countryside with the publication's readers. He said in a statement: "I am honoured to have been invited to guest edit an edition of a magazine that I have always admired and read. "I am really looking forward to working with the editorial team to produce an issue that will celebrate what the countryside and the great British landscape means to me and my family.' The one-off edition of the magazine is said to include David's best-loved recipe, along with his own rural champions along with those who have helped at his countryside home. The Manchester United legend will also offer an insight into the role the countryside plays in his life. David - who is an avid supporter of the British monarchy - is following in the footsteps of King Charles, who has been guest editor twice, in 2013 and 2018 to mark his 65th and 70th birthdays. In 2020, the Princess Royal was in charge of an issue celebrating her 70th birthday, and the Queen - then known as the Duchess of Cornwell - marked her own 75th birthday three years ago with a special edition. Last week, it was reported David will be awarded a knighthood in the King's Birthday Honours List, which is set to be announced on Saturday (14.06.25). David has been married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham - with whom he has Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and 13-year-old Harper Seven - since 1999 and The Sun reported that she will become known as Lady Victoria Beckham once her husband is knighted. David will join a select list of his fellow sports stars who have already received the honour, including the likes of the late Sir Bobby Charlton and former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. According to the outlet, David "narrowly missed out" on receiving a knighthood in 2024, and the honour instead went to former England manager Gareth Southgate. In 2003, he was given an OBE by the late Queen Elizabeth for services to football. The former Premier League star has a long history of charitable work, which Honours Committee officials will have considered before deciding to bestow him with the honour.

Queen Camilla makes unannounced appearance at Women's Prize literature event amid 'incurable' cancer fears for King Charles
Queen Camilla has made a solo appearance at a major royal engagement following a bombshell report claiming King Charles' cancer is 'incurable'. The Queen stunned fans after she made the surprise appearance at a special event in Bloomsbury to celebrate 30 years of the Women's Prize for Fiction on Wednesday. Camilla, 77, has made literacy a key area of her royal duties and took to the lectern to deliver a short speech congratulating this year's nominees. "The Queen has joined brilliant authors at a special event for the Women's Prize for Fiction in Bedford Square this afternoon,' Buckingham Palace said in a statement. "Ahead of their Awards ceremony tomorrow, Her Majesty met this year's @WomensPrize shortlisted authors, judges and past winners, before addressing guests to congratulate them on the past three decades of incredible storytelling." Camilla's solo appearance comes days after a sobering update about King Charles' ongoing cancer treatment. The 76-year-old monarch has been battling an undisclosed form of the disease for the past eighteen months. According to report by veteran royal insider Camilla Tonminey, sources inside the palace believe the King's cancer is at bay but ultimately incurable. 'The talk now is that he may die 'with' cancer, but not 'of' cancer following a rigorous treatment program,' she revealed in The Telegraph newspaper on Friday. The King's cancer was discovered during an unrelated medical procedure to treat an enlarged prostate in January 2024, coincidentally at the same hospital where Princess Catherine had stomach surgery which revealed she also had cancer. The King's diagnosis occurred just months after his own coronation and saw Charles curtail duties for several months to undergo treatment. Charles has not disclosed what type of cancer he is suffering from or what stage the disease is at, but Buckingham Palace has continued to sporadically update the media that the monarch is doing well. Nevertheless, concerns for Charles increased again in March after the palace revealed the monarch was briefly hospitalised due to 'side effects' from his treatment. Prince Harry inadvertently stoked further speculation about the King's health during a recent interview with the BBC in which he claimed he was unsure how long his father 'had left to live' amid their estrangement. The report comes as Charles has resumed a rigorous diary of engagements and overseas travel, including recent trips to Commonwealth nations Australia, Samoa and Canada. All eyes will return to Buckingham Palace's famed balcony on Saturday where Charles, Camilla and the entire royal family will gather for the annual Trooping the Colour fly over.

Not long after, Cyrus also declared his love in a sweet Instagram post, 'Happy birthday to the love of my life ❤️,' he wrote alongside a photo of Hurley sitting on his lap. Hurley and Cyrus confirmed their romance on April 20th with a joint Instagram post on Easter, sharing a cute photo of Cyrus kissing Hurley on the cheek. They had previously met in 2022 while filming the movie Christmas in Paradise. Friends close to the pair have told The Sun that despite their different backgrounds, Hurley and Cyrus have 'a lot in common' and 'share the same interests,' with insiders suggesting that 'marriage could be on the cards'. 'Billy is very much Elizabeth's type — he's got a twinkle in his eye and a mischievous streak she can't resist,' one source said. Hurley was previously married to businessman Arun Nayar, tying the knot in 2007 in lavish ceremonies spanning England and India. The couple divorced amicably in 2011. Following her marriage to Mr Nayar, Hurley entered a high-profile relationship with Australian cricket legend Shane Warne. Cyrus has married three times, first to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991 and then to the mother of his daughters, Miley and Noah, Tish Cyrus, from 1993 to 2023. He also briefly married Firerose in 2023. Hurley's son Damian commented below Cyrus' birthday post with a slew of love hearts, and popstar Miley has spoken openly about her dad's new-found happiness. Miley says she has now warmed to her dad's latest romance, after their messy fallout at the end of his marriage to her mother. In an interview with The New York Times, the Grammy winner spoke candidly about her turbulent relationship with her dad, as well as her mum Tish's new marriage to actor Dominic Purcell. 'Now that my mum is so in love with my stepdad, who I completely adore, and now that my dad, I see him finding happiness, too — I can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing,' the former Disney star said. While she's now happy for both her parents, Miley said it was a difficult adjustment. 'At first it's hard, because the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, 'Yes, that's your dad, but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy.' My child self has caught up,' she said. 'I'm being an adult about it.' Miley confirmed she has fully reconciled with her dad, but admitted her closeness with her mum played a major role in their falling out.
