This Luxury Historic London Hotel Is Known As A Culinary Destination
When a new hotel opens, it often brings along with it one, maybe two culinary attractions. Honestly, in a city as densely populated as London, hotels don't often have the space to house more than a couple of restaurants in the center of the city. However, Raffles London at The OWO made itself stand out from the moment it opened in 2023 with nine dining venues, including four from two different Michelin-starred chefs.
'Raffles London at The OWO offers truly immersive dining experiences that exceed traditional hotel offerings,' says Fiona Harris, director of marketing and communications at Raffles London at The OWO, in an email interview with Forbes. 'The thought and care that is woven into each and every culinary aspect is unparalleled, from top-tier service to exquisite preparation and unique flavors, Raffles London at The OWO delivers excellence at every turn.'
Five of the nine restaurants and two of the bars are operated Raffles London At The OWO.
The hotel has nine dining concepts and three bars. Five of the nine restaurants and two of the bars are operated by the hotel itself. 'All offer a diverse gastronomy,' says Harris. 'No one concept is the same, allowing guests to indulge and imbibe in a melting pot of global cuisine, crafted by the world's most renowned culinary masterminds.'
Mauro Colagreco at Raffles London at The OWO is the namesake signature restaurant at the property from Michelin-starred chef Maura Colagreco. This year, the spot won its first Michelin star. In addition, the property has two other restaurants from Colagrecco (Mauro's Table, an experience focused on British ingredients, and Saison by Mauro Colagrecco, an all-day Mediterranean concept). There is also The Drawing Room (a spot for afternoon tea and cocktails), The Guards Bar and Lounge (a bar with views of the Changing of the Guard), The Spy Bar (a hidden speakeasy that pays tribute to MI5 and MI6), Pillar Kitchen (a health-focused concept) and Paper Moon (an Italian restaurant with Milanese roots).
Independently, Raffles London at The OWO is also home to Kioku by Endo, a rooftop restaurant with Japanese-inspired cuisine by Michelin-starred chef Endo Kazutoshi, and Kioku Sake Bar. The rooftop restaurant recently welcomed a new head sushi chef, Shibata Takehito, a protégé of Endo Kazutoshi, who works alongside executive chef George Gkoregias.
'By offering a plethora of dining experiences, Raffles London at The OWO becomes a destination in itself,' says Harris. 'Guests no longer have to leave the property to enjoy delicious, Michelin-starred gastronomy. Instead, these offerings are at their fingertips. And the grandeur and scale of The OWO as a magnificent building allow for the clever use of space for dining and drinking.'
The diverse food and beverage experiences onsite are all intended to pay homage to the building's ... More legacy and history.
The diverse food and beverage experiences onsite are all intended to pay homage to the building's legacy and history. For example, according to Harris, The Spy Bar was where James Bond author Ian Fleming used to visit in his role as a British Naval Intelligence Officer. Other on-site dining venues have historical significance, including Saison by Mauro Colagreco, whose site was once the historic library of the Old War Office. 'By incorporating elements of history into its cuisine, Raffles London at The OWO ensures that each dining experience is one-of-a-kind,' says Harris.

Daryl and Carol Adventure to Spain in New Trailer For THE WALKING DEAD: DARYL DIXON Season 3 — GeekTyrant
AMC released a fantastic full trailer for the upcoming third season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon , featuring returning stars Norman Reedus, and Melissa McBride. The Hall H panel for the series included the creators and stars, and the news that the show will be back for a fourth and final season. In the trailer, we are introduced to a new character played by Stephen Merchant, who tells the pair that he is the last Englishman in England, and he explains that he is still there because he couldn't sail his boat alone. We then get some cool shots of Daryl and Carol sailing through London's iconic Tower Bridge with Merchant's character. They eventually run into a storm that makes them crash onto a beach, and we find the trio in Spain. The synopsis for season 3 notes that Carol and Daryl "continue their journey towards home and the only ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse." Spanish F/A-18 Hornet Seen Nearly Crashing Into Surf During Beach Airshow (Updated)
A Spanish Air Force F/A-18 Hornet (EF-18 is Spain's designation for the jet) had a very close call during a remote airshow performance in picturesque Gijón. The Hornet was flying at very low altitude towards the beach, which was packed with spectators, in a near-perpendicular fashion, when it executed a hard right roll. The sudden maneuver saw the jet descend low above the waves before recovering and climbing out. Clearly it shocked the audience, many of whom had their cameras rolling. Hey @Aviation_Intel what do you think about this video from an F-18 of Spain Ejército del Aire in an air show in Gijón ? It was a near crash or not? — Godofredo de Bouillon (@g_bouillon) July 28, 2025 The incident does showcase one of the Hornet's most notable flying qualities, its ability to point its nose at extreme angles of attack (high-alpha), especially during lower-speed maneuvers. If it weren't for the F/A-18's ability to do this, there is a real possibility the pilot and their aircraft would not have survived. If the jet, or pieces of it, had careened into the beach, it would have been a massive disaster. Sustaco — Q*bert (@Cotidianeous) July 27, 2025 The first time I saw the video, it did not have the hallmarks of a major mistake in a routine, such as entering a maneuver below the prescribed altitude, or a pilot 'hot dogging' in front of a crowd. Spain's air arm is a professional service, and the idea that one of its fighter pilots would do such a thing, especially in front of thousands of people, is unlikely. Also, doing such a maneuver flying at a perpendicular angle to the crowd is extremely dangerous as the jet's momentum could take it across the showline and into the crowd. This risk is usually briefed at every airshow. It's also worth noting that Spain lost a Hornet during a practice flight for an airshow routine back in 2023. When looking at numerous videos very closely, it appears that the pilot may have actually been avoiding birds in the jet's flight path. This would explain the rapid hard roll. A catastrophic bird strike while flying at this angle toward the crowd could have resulted in a big disaster. Seems there's a bird that crosses in front just before the plane nearly become inverted. Wonder if the pilot was instinctively trying to avoid it and maybe others, forgetting quite how close he/she was to the ground? Just last month, a Spanish EF2000 took a bird strike during its airshow routine, shattering the canopy. You can read about this incident here. We have reached out for an explanation on what happened. We will update this post if we receive more Spanish Air Force has taken to X to explain what happened, and our initial analysis was correct. See below (translated via X): 'Many of you have been asking us, so in this thread, we'll tell you what happened during the Gijón air festival. As you have seen, one of our F-18 fighters performed an evasive maneuver upon detecting a flock of birds in its path. This action is part of the standard protocol to preserve both the pilot's safety and the public's security. Our aviators are trained to react in milliseconds to any unforeseen event. In this case, the pilot acted with exemplary speed and professionalism, avoiding a possible collision without compromising the exhibition. Safety is, and will continue to be, our top priority at every air show. Thank you to all attendees for your enthusiasm and trust. Let's keep flying together!' Drew Barrymore flaunts natural beauty in black swimsuit during luxurious yacht getaway
Drew Barrymore sported a one-piece swimsuit while enjoying a family vacation in Saint-Tropez. On Sunday, Barrymore, 50, was photographed on a yacht wearing a simple black one-piece during her France getaway. The talk show host spent the day jumping off the side of the boat and relaxing with family members, including her children. During "The Drew Barrymore Show" in April, the actress responded to a fan who asked for her "secret to aging gracefully and being so comfortable in your own skin." Barrymore responded, "I haven't done anything, and I want to try and stay that way." She expressed that she's not knocking anyone for getting procedures done and promoted that people should "do whatever works for you." "The only thing I do know is: Don't judge other people because they do things differently. We're all on our own path, and we have to support each other," Barrymore noted. Drew explained that as she has gotten older, she has become more self-conscious about certain parts of her body, including her "turkey neck." "I see a lot of turkey neck, or I have a lot of other times where I'm like, 'Oh, wow! Wow, we're there now,'" she said. Barrymore didn't have an answer for the fan who asked her, but she did give the woman some advice on how to approach aging. "I want to tell myself not to be so mean to myself. How many beautiful moments do we even get the privilege of seeing our reflection and that person looking back at us is us? "So the kinder, more patient, more resilient, more loving, embracing, less dismissive that we can be, the better it is for our mental game and spiritual game, which affects the face," Barrymore said. The "Charlie's Angels" star continued, "A smile is better than any lipstick you'll buy, and internal dialog that isn't so eviscerating of ourselves and so quick to catch a flaw — who says that's the flaw? By the way, that might be someone else's favorite thing about you... how ironic. It isn't how you look. It's how you feel."
