England star will be 'fuming' with Thomas Tuchel after Senegal loss, says Keane

Roy Keane believes Ivan Toney will be 'fuming' with Thomas Tuchel after England's 3-1 defeat to Senegal on Tuesday night.
Tuchel suffered his first loss as England manager as his players were booed off at The City Ground.
Harry Kane put England in front from close range in the seventh minute but Senegal were level before the break as Ismaila Sarr met Nicolas Jackson's cross to fire past Dean Henderson.
England struggled to get out of the blocks at the start of the second half and Habib Diarra gave Senegal a deserved lead in the 62nd minute.
Former Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy made two fine saves to maintain Senegal's lead before England thought they had equalised through Jude Bellingham.
However, referee Stephanie Frappart disallowed the goal with the help of VAR after the ball hit Levi Colwill's arm in the build up.
Senegal then sealed their win with a superb counter-attack in the 90th minute which was finished by Cheikh Sabaly.
Toney, meanwhile, was left on the bench for the 1-0 win over Andorra on Saturday and was brought on as a substitute in the 88th minute for the defeat to Senegal.
And Keane feels the 29-year-old, who scored 30 goals in his first season for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli this season, will be unhappy with Tuchel's decision.
'The other subs had a bit of an impact, better than the other day [against Andorra], so that's a bit of a plus,' Keane told ITV.
'But if you're Toney and you're getting three, four, five minutes, do you know what you'd be fuming.'
Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright added: 'I can only look at it like he's seen him all week, he didn't look to put him on until that late, I don't know what he's seen in training that he may not like up to this point.
'I was very surprised to see him not come on, especially when we saw Morgan Gibbs-White and Morgan Rogers come on, I would be disappointed if I was him but you've got to keep going.'
When asked by ITV about his decision to bring on Toney so late in the game, Tuchel replied: 'First of all it was more than three minutes.
'Second of all, I think Ivan is a specialist for these situations, we created a lot of chances with Morgan Gibbs-White, with Ebs [Eberechi Eze], with Morgan Rogers and with Jude [Bellingham] in fluid positions.
'I think Ivan is the strongest if we have a phase where we have a lot of balls into the box, and that was the case so after 80 minutes we made him ready.
'Then we scored and they took the goal away so it took a while longer than we wanted.
'Basically that's what he can give – presence in the box and a goal late in the match.' More Trending
Tuchel then added in his post-match press conference: 'No, it was too early.
'We wanted to play there with Morgan Rogers, more fluid, much more physical player, I think it was too early for Ivan because the game was so, so physical, the opponent was so physical, we were not close enough to the goal consistently to get his strengths into play.
'We tried to bring him on for a special task to be in the end in the box and use his experience in finishing.
'For me, he is on this kind of level, a player who needs to be in the box, and he needs to be in and very, very close to the box, and in the moment earlier when we had the changes we were not so close in the box, it was a more open game, it was a lot of intensity needed against the ball to get into a higher pressing situation because we struggled on the ball, so we wanted to bring more bodies into the opponent's half to play a higher press and we chose different players for that.'

Chelsea unveil their new away kit for 2025-26 season and will debut it in Club World Cup - as they bizarrely pay tribute to HUNGARY in strip

Chelsea have revealed their new away kit for the 2025-26 season. A standard shirt for an adult weighs in at £84.99. The Blues will give their new strips their first outings at the Club World Cup in the United States, where they will face LAFC, Flamengo, and ES Tunis in the group stages. Surprisingly, the story of Chelsea's away kit is rooted in 1950s Hungary. Former Chelsea manager Dave Sexton - who won the FA Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup in the early 1970s - loved the 'Magnificent Magyars' Hungarian team of the '50s so much that he introduced a red, white and green kit in tribute to the nation's colours. Now, Chelsea have paid tribute to that old jersey by adding green and red lines down the centre of their white away shirt. Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke, and Kadeisha Buchanan modelled the gear in the Saatchi Gallery in London. Their blue home kit went on sale a few weeks ago.

Man United's hopes of cashing in on Jadon Sancho dealt heavy blow as Borussia Dortmund REJECT the chance to sign him again - but three Premier League clubs remain interested in the winger

Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho has been told that a return to Borussia Dortmund this summer is unlikely. The 25-year-old thrived at Dortmund during a four-year spell which earned him his £73million move to Old Trafford in 2021. He returned on loan last year and impressed as the German side reached the Champions League final. Sancho is hoping to reinvigorate his career after disappointing at United having failed to recover from his public falling out with former boss Erik Ten Hag. He was shipped out on loan to Chelsea last season and the Blues had the option to sign him permanently for £25m this summer, but they instead opted to pay £5m to cancel the deal, with Sancho heading back to the Red Devils. Despite his past success in Germany, Dortmund will not offer the England international a route out of Manchester. On Wednesday, Dortmund's sporting director Sebastie Kehl ruled out a move. He said: 'Of course, there's always some kind of contact with Jadon because of the long history we share, but at the moment, Jadon is not a topic for us.' The winger's salary, which is believed to currently be between €18m (£15.3m) and €20m (£17m) per year, is far too pricey for Dortmund, according to Bild. Dortmund's reluctance comes as a blow to United's hope of cashing in for the player they signed for big money four years ago. Meanwhile, three Premier League sides have been linked with Sancho. One of those sides is said to be Tottenham, who have the pulling power of the Champions League after qualifying for the competition by winning the Europa League. Another club is Aston Villa, who are also in Europe, but had to settle for Europa League qualification after failing to finish in the top five of the Premier League when they lost against United on the final day of the season. Newcastle have also long been in the market for a right-sided forward, and Sancho fits the bill. Sancho's troubles at United began after Ten Hag criticised his performances in training after he was left out of a squad to face Arsenal in 2023. He won the Conference League with the Blues last month but has returned to Man United The player then branded the words 'completely untrue' in a social media post that was later deleted. The situation resulted in Ten Hag demanding an apology, and Sancho refusing to give one - he did not play for the Dutchman again and went on loan to Chelsea after a brief spell at former club Dortmund. Sancho took to social media to thank the Blues for his time at the club after it was made clear that Chelsea would not be making the loan deal permanent. 'Grateful for the experience,' Sancho wrote on Instagram. 'Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made me feel at home - team-mates, staff, and the fans. 'Wishing the club all the best moving forward. Truly grateful, thank you Blues.' Sancho struggled for consistency over the 2024-25 season, though he did score in the Conference League final against Real Betis, which Chelsea won 4-1.

England squad issued stern message ahead of next season

England lost 3-1 to Senegal at the City Ground, marking Thomas Tuchel 's first defeat as England manager and ending his 100% record. Tuchel admitted he needs to improve and called for patience, emphasising that there is still plenty of time before the 2026 World Cup. Despite winning all three World Cup qualifying games and leading Group K, Tuchel warned that qualification for the World Cup is not guaranteed. Tuchel stressed the importance of players securing regular playing time at their clubs to be in the best shape for World Cup selection. Several England players, including Jack Grealish, Kobbie Mainoo, and Kyle Walker, face uncertain futures regarding their club positions, which could impact their chances for the World Cup squad.
