Springboks v Baabaas: SEVEN All Blacks to face Boks

The Springboks host the Barbarians for the first time in history. They host over half a dozen All Blacks too.
The Springboks host the Barbarians for the first time in South African history on Saturday, 28 June 2025.
Meanwhile, SEVEN All Blacks are a part of the Barbarians side ready to take on the Boks in SA.
Capped All Blacks Sam Cane (loose forward), Mark Tele'a (wing), Shannon Frizell (loose forward), Tawera Kerr-Barlow (scrumhalf), Hoskins Sotutu (loose), Peter Umaga-Jensen (utility back) and Leicester Fainga'anuku have all been named in Robbie Dean's Barbarians side.
Meaning, a large contingent of the Barbarians side will compose of ex and current All Blacks stars.
Cane in particular will has a point to prove to himself and to the Boks.
So, Cane will be extra motivated following his last experience with the Springboks. Last time the former All Blacks captain ran out, his side fell agonisingly short of the perfect send-off. New Zealand lost 12-11 after Sam Cane was red carded in a gutting send-off for the ex-All Blacks captain.
Meanwhile, for all of these capped All Blacks it is an honour to face the Springboks since it is the greatest rivalry in World Rugby.
The Springboks will have a new look about them when they face the Barbarians for the first time on SA soil on Saturday.
Kick off is at 17:10.
30 years ago the Springboks famously won their first-ever Rugby World Cup in 1995 on home soil.
Now, they will host the Barbarians in SA for the first time ever. Additionally, we have a brand-new Springboks home and away jersey. Moreover, there is a new era of rising Boks with these FOUR players, named on this iconic day (the 30th anniversary), set to make their Springboks debut.

Orlando Pirates superstar attracts interest from MLS side!

Orlando Pirates are in the process of revamping their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season with ins and outs. Pirates will be heading off to Spain once again this pre-season and their squad could look very different from 2024. The club have reportedly already signed nine players, which could mean nine new faces from the previous trip. Only one of those players has been announced by the club so far, that being the marquee capture of Sipho Mbule. The midfield wizard joins from Mamelodi Sundowns on a free transfer. Other Pirates signings include Kabelo Kgositsile, Masindi Nemtajela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli, Tshepang Moremi , Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Yanela Mbuthuma. The Sea Robbers are set to begin their pre-season on the 7th of July and all of those players are expected to be there. That list features quite a few attackers in Kgositsile, Moremi, Kwayiba and Mbuthuma. That could be a sign that Pirates are revamping their attack or preparing for potential exits. One player that is constantly linked with a move abroad is Relebohile Mofokeng. Earlier on Wednesday, this publication reported that the 20-year-old was the subject of a bold from Israel giants Maccabi Haifa. Maccabi Haifa have reportedly offered Pirates R31 million for Mofokeng's services. They are believed to be battling their rivals Maccabi Tel Aviv for his signature. But now, according to Soccer-Laduma , MLS side FC Cincinnati have also entered the race! 'The race to land the signature of Orlando Pirates sensation Relebohile Mofokeng has intensified, with Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit FC Cincinnati now reported to have entered the fray. However, Mofokeng continues to be a talking point in Israeli sports media as there's a growing list of admirers which now reportedly includes FC Cincinnati. The American club has emerged as a serious contender to lure the South African international to the United States.' Wrote the publication. Where would you rather see Mofokeng playing Pirates fans? In America with FC Cincinnati? Or in Israel with either Maccabi Haifa or Maccabi Tel Aviv? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. Or by emailing info@ or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Springbok newcomer Vincent Tshituka to finally realise rugby dream

After a long-running citizenship saga, Vincent Tshituka is finally in line to make his Springbok bow against the Barbarians on Saturday. Vincent Tshituka just wanted to be in the race, and now he is finally approaching the finish line. He's set to realise his dream of playing for the Springboks in Saturday's first international of the season when the world champions clash with the Barbarians in Cape Town. The match is not an official Test and he won't win a first cap, but it should be the start of a Bok career that was probably delayed by a few years due to circumstances out of the big flanker's control. Ever since his impressive performances for the Lions a few years ago, before he moved to the Sharks and continued his fine form, there had been rumblings about the Democratic Republic of Congo born Tshituka donning the green and gold. But over the past few years he has been in a long running saga to obtain South African citizenship, despite having lived in the country since he was four, and once he finally achieved that it was then about receiving his passport, which finally made him eligible to be selected for the Boks. The 26-year-old has thus finally gotten out of the starting blocks and will hope to make a big impact in his first outing for the national team over the weekend. Getting the passport 'It was something I tried to get for quite a while, and everybody asked me that question. My response was always, 'getting the passport doesn't put me in the squad, there's still a selection process',' said Tshituka at the team announcement on Tuesday when asked about his journey. 'After a good season, people were saying, 'Ja, you're going to play for the Springboks, you're going to make it'. But that was always the best-case scenario for me, and I tried to put it on the back burner. 'For me, it was just, let me get the passport, let me be eligible to be in the race (to be selected), because without it, I was never in the race. I felt like that was just the ticket to participate, and then being selected for a Test match is winning a medal.' Although his first assignment for the Boks is to front up against some recent legends of the game, who are coming towards the end of their careers, Tshituka hasn't really focused on the Barbarians too much, but more on himself. 'To be honest with you, I haven't even thought about the players I'm facing. No disrespect to them and how they are feeling ahead of this game, but I must still take in how I feel and what I am going through,' he explained. 'My moment is where I want to be present, and I will keep my mind focused on that. It will be an emotional game for them (the Barbarians players), because it is at the back end of their careers. However, I must get over the emotion and get stuck in. 'The Green and Gold is everything to me and my family, who have supported me along this journey. That is already a big enough occasion.'

Kaizer Chiefs have chosen to sign ONLY one of Mako or Monyane

Ex-Orlando Pirates duo Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako have trained with Kaizer Chiefs. However, only one will stay permanently. Full-backs Mako and Monyane were both relased by the Sea Robbers and talks of a move to Chiefs have intensified. The Glamour Boys have reportedly chosen to only sign Monyane, the younger of the pair. Dream Chiefs XI with five rumoured signings According to Soccer-Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs have decided that Thabiso Monyane has more long-term value than opposing full-back Paseka Mako. 'It's believed that the player that the club (Chiefs) is really interested in is apparently Thabiso Monyane. They are saying they have been releasing players around the ages of 31 years to 34 years old, so then why should they sign a 31-year-old in Paseka Mako? You see Monyane is 25-years-old and has a long future ahead of him compared to Mako. That's why they are more interested in Monyane than Mako,' 'It's not a secret the club (Chiefs) wants to boost that left back position but Paseka Mako was not on the list of the players to be considered. Yes, we know in football a lot can happen but the club's priority lies with other players including the youngsters from the DDC like Kabelo Nkgwesa and Nkosana Mbuthu for now, and others as well that the team has been looking at,' said another source. 'Chiefs will still finish ninth with their new signings' Kabelo Kgositsile, Masindi Nemtajela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli, Tsepang Moremi, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, Yanela Mbuthuma and Sipho Mbule are all expected to become Pirates players during the winter window. The Sea Robbers have signed Sipho 'Masterchef' Mbule, while it seems a matter of time before AmaZulu winger Tshepang Moremi becomes a Buccaneer. Is Moremi the new Segolela?
