Pakistan: at least 26 civilians killed in Indian airstrikes

ALBAWABA - The Pakistani military announced on Wednesday that the death toll from Indian missile strikes in Pakistan and firing along the border has jumped to 26 civilians, AFP reported.
Pakistan's army spokesperson, Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said: "Until now 26 innocent civilians have been martyred in attacks."
Late Tuesday, India carried out a series of airstrikes against Muzaffarabad in Pakistani-administered Kashmir, amid escalating tensions between the two countries.

On the other hand, after the attack, Islamabad retaliated by targeting Indian military points, including downing several warplanes and arresting Indian military personnel.
The Pakistani military claimed to have shot down five Indian jets, including three French Rafale fighter aircraft, inside India on Wednesday. "So far, the Pakistan army, in its defence and its response to the enemy, has shot down five jets and a combat drone. They attacked Pakistan," Chaudhry added.
He also said: "The India Air Force jets include three Rafale, one MiG 29 and one Su plane."
The Indian military said they launched "Operation Sindoor", attacking nine targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
A video capturing the first moments of the Indian attack on Pakistan on May 6 was shared on social media, showing a huge ball of fire following a rocket attack by New Delhi.

A Palestinian source familiar with negotiations aimed at securing a truce in the Gaza war said Monday that a new proposal included the release of 10 captives, a 70-day ceasefire and a partial 'Israeli' withdrawal.
