TORONTO, June 3, 2025 /CNW/ - DeFi Technologies Inc. (the " Company" or " DeFi Technologies") (Nasdaq: DEFT) (CBOE CA: DEFI) (GR: R9B), a financial technology company bridging the gap between traditional capital markets and decentralized finance ("DeFi"), is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Valour Inc., and Valour Digital Securities Limited (together, " Valour"), a leading issuer of exchange traded products (" ETPs") reports assets under management (" AUM") of US$812 million (C$1.1 billion) as of May 30, 2025. This reflects a 13.5% increase from the previous month, driven by rising digital asset prices and net inflows of US$12.7 million (C$17.5 million).
Net Inflows and Investor Confidence
In May, Valour recorded strong net inflows of US$12.7 million (C$17.5 million), continuing its trend of consistent monthly inflows regardless of market conditions. Year-to-date, total net inflows have reached US$71.4 million (C$99.3 million), highlighting accelerating investor demand for Valour's ETPs. This sustained momentum reflects growing investor confidence and reinforces the appeal of Valour's diverse product lineup.
Key Products Driving Inflows
A combination of established and newer ETP listings, including ETH, SUI and XRP, drove the exceptional performance. Key contributors include:
These inflows highlight Valour's leadership in providing access to diverse digital assets.
Valour's Top ETPs by AUM
Valour monetizes its AUM primarily through staking and management fees. Valour retains staking yields as revenue, capturing value directly from the underlying digital assets held in its ETPs, in addition to management fees.
In Q1 2025, Valour generated staking and lending income of US$10.0 million (C$14.0 million) and management fees of US$2.6 million (C$3.6 million), demonstrating the strength of its vertically integrated model and its ability to generate recurring, protocol-driven revenue from its growing AUM base.
Valour's Global Expansion and Strategic Market Development
Valour continues to expand its global footprint as a leader in regulated digital asset products. With over 65 ETPs currently listed across European and UK exchanges, the Company remains on track to reach 100 listed products by the end of 2025. Upcoming launches include leveraged and warrant-based structures, further broadening investor access.
In parallel, Valour is strategically entering emerging markets across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and beyond, securing a first-mover advantage in jurisdictions with significant growth potential. This proactive expansion underscores Valour's long-term commitment to driving global adoption of regulated digital asset investment vehicles.
Strong Financial Position
As of May 30, 2025, the Company maintained a strong financial position:
Cash and USDT Balance: Approximately US$17.02 million (C$23.4 million).
Loans Payable: Approximately C$8.6 million (US$6 million), unchanged from the previous month, primarily attributed to the ongoing Genesis restructuring
Digital Asset Treasury
The Company maintained a diversified treasury portfolio. The portfolio's total value stood at approximately US$53.9 million (C$74 million). The Company may choose to rebalance or expand its treasury at any time using its available US$70.9 million (C$97.4 million) in cash, USDT, and other treasury holdings. During the period, the Company increased its positions in CORE, ADA, and ETH, and added SUI as a new treasury asset.
DeFi Alpha Strategy
The Company continues to assess and execute on arbitrage opportunities through its specialized trading desk, DeFi Alpha. Since its launch in Q2 2024, DeFi Alpha has generated a total of C$162.4 million (US$118.8 million) in revenue, including a one-time arbitrage trade announced on May 5, 2025, that delivered C$30.3 million (US$22 million). This strategy has significantly strengthened the Company's financial position, enabling debt repayment and supporting the ongoing expansion of its digital asset treasury.
DeFi Technologies Reports a Return of C$30.3 Million (US$22 Million) From an Arbitrage Trade by DeFi Alpha
DeFi Technologies reported a one-time return of approximately C$30.3 million (US$22 million) from an arbitrage trade executed by its specialized trading desk, DeFi Alpha. The return will be reflected in the Company's Q2 2025 financial statements, strengthening its overall liquidity position. This strategic execution underscores DeFi Alpha's ability to capitalize on market inefficiencies and reinforces DeFi Technologies' commitment to disciplined trading strategies that deliver shareholder value.
DeFi Technologies announced a strategic joint venture and lead equity investment in Fire Labs, a stablecoin infrastructure provider backed by America First Technology (AFT), marking the Company's entry into the Real-World Asset (RWA) space. The initiative involves launching a fully regulated, USD-backed stablecoin issued by a U.S. chartered bank, with Kraken Embed serving as a key integration partner to facilitate institutional access. Fire Labs' overcollateralized model—backed by 105% reserves—and companion yield-bearing token are designed for compliant, institutional-grade deployment. DeFi Technologies will participate in revenue through fees, yield sharing, and ecosystem integration. The Company also completed a 19.5% minority investment in AFT, further solidifying its position in regulated digital finance infrastructure.
DeFi Technologies reaffirmed its US$201.07 million (C$285.6 million) revenue guidance for fiscal 2025, excluding non-operational accounting adjustments related to previously acquired locked Solana and Avalanche tokens. As of May 23, Valour's Solana ETP became the Company's largest product by AUM at US$274.9 million (C$377.5 million), positioning it as the third-largest Solana fund in Europe. DeFi Technologies remains the largest institutional asset manager of Solana in North America, generating up to US$33 million (C$45.3 million) in annualized revenue through MEV-optimized validators, staking, and proprietary monetization strategies—more than any other asset manager or public Solana holder globally.
Valour launched the Valour Curve DAO (CRV) and Valour Litecoin (LTC) SEK ETPs on Sweden's Spotlight Stock Market, expanding its presence in the Nordic region. With over 65 ETPs now listed, Valour continues to execute on its roadmap to 100 products, with new offerings—including TRX, XLM, BTC 2x, and ETH 2x—set to launch in the coming months. The Company's growing suite of regulated ETPs reinforces its position as a European market leader, providing investors with secure and diversified exposure to digital assets.
DeFi Technologies received approval to list its common shares on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the ticker symbol "DEFT", trading commenced on May 12, 2025. As part of the listing, the Company's shares ceased trading on the OTC Markets and continue to trade on CBOE Canada (DEFI) and Börse Frankfurt (R9B). The Nasdaq listing marks a significant milestone in DeFi Technologies' growth, increasing visibility, enhancing liquidity, and expanding access to a broader base of global investors.
Valour appointed GulfCap Investment Bank as Transaction Advisor to support the cross-listing of its digital asset ETPs on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). This strategic partnership expands Valour's presence into African capital markets, offering Kenyan investors regulated, local currency access to its suite of over 65 digital asset ETPs currently trading across major European exchanges. GulfCap will lead regulatory coordination, due diligence, and investor engagement in alignment with Kenya's Capital Markets Authority and NSE guidelines, supporting responsible digital asset adoption in the region.
DeFi Technologies announced a strategic collaboration with Misyon Bank and Misyon Kripto to introduce exchange-traded products (ETPs) in Turkiye, offering investors alternative access to digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. With over 50% of the investor population already engaged in crypto, Turkiye ranks among the world's highest in digital asset adoption, driven by inflation and currency volatility. This partnership marks a key step in DeFi Technologies' ongoing global expansion strategy across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa through institutional partnerships and localized, compliant product offerings.

Create Account Late last week, the Vancouver-based, globally recognized company announced it would be increasing some prices. 'We are planning to take strategic price increases, looking item by item across our assortment as we typically do,' chief financial officer Meghan Frank told analysts on a call held as the company's share price tumbled 23% to US$255.32 in afterhours trading last Thursday. The price increases on products will be 'modest in nature' and only applied to a 'small' portion of Lululemon's products. Customers can thank U.S. President Donald Trump's trade war. 'We experienced lower store traffic in the Americas, partially reflective of economic uncertainty, inflationary pressures, lower consumer confidence, and changes in discretionary spending,' the company said in a recent statement. What it means is that brand's loyal cult-following of millennial and Gen-Z yoga types aren't splurging on the company's clothing as they perhaps once did. The clothing company said the hikes will roll out within weeks, but online reaction was instant. 'You better get it together. Lulu. Using tariffs as an excuse in your rest of the year outlook is not a smart move. Amazon/Walmart tried this it didn't go well. You're Down 65$ today. Our family was a big lulu fan not so much anymore,' one user posted to social-media site X. 'For what they charge for their products, you'd think it was made in America,' another post read. Both countries have been hit hard by Trump's trade crackdown. But some folks seem to have had enough. 'It can't be that yoga pants shouldn't cost $125 a pair. No. That's not it,' someone said, while another posted, 'Their stuff is ridiculously overpriced… total ripoff.' Is Roku Stock a Long-Term Buy?

At first glance, Roku (NASDAQ: ROKU) looks like a terrible investment. Earnings are negative. Sales are rising, but much more slowly than they were four years ago. The stock trades at an unaffordable valuation of 125 times forward earnings estimates. After a long-forgotten price spike in the pandemic lockdown era, Roku's stock fell hard and then traded sideways over the last three years. But if you look a bit closer, you should see a healthy long-term growth story in play. Roku targets a huge global market, following in the footsteps of proven winners, and the stock doesn't appear expensive at all from other perspectives. Where to invest $1,000 right now? Our analyst team just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks to buy right now. Continue » It's actually one of my favorite stocks to buy in 2025, and Roku should be a helpful addition to long-term portfolios. Breaking down common concerns about Roku stock Let me deconstruct the scary qualities I mentioned above. Negative earnings Roku's red-ink earnings are at least partly a voluntary choice. The company treats its streaming hardware as a marketing tool, selling Roku sticks and TV sets below the manufacturing and distribution costs. This user-growth tactic is especially unprofitable in Roku's highest-volume sales periods. The holiday quarter of 2024, for example, nearly quadrupled the devices segment's negative gross margin from 7.6% in the third quarter to 28.6% in the fourth. In other words, Roku is running its business with unprofitable profit margins to maximize its market reach and user growth. Furthermore, I'm talking about generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), which is the standard accounting method used for calculating taxes. Roku often posts negative GAAP earnings that result in tax refunds rather than expenses. At the same time, free cash flows tend to land on the positive side with modest cash profits. That's just efficient accounting powered by stock-based compensation and amortization of Roku's media-streaming content library. Slowing sales growth Roku's year-over-year sales growth has averaged 14.7% over the last two years. That's a sharp retreat from 40.9% in the three years before that. But don't forget that the extreme growth was driven by the COVID-19 pandemic. Lots of people turned to digital media during the lockdown period, resulting in a unique business spike for companies like Roku and Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX). The pandemic also happened to take place just months after Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) launched the Disney+ streaming service, inspiring a torrent of copycat service launches. Long story short, there may never be a media market like the one in 2020-2021 again. Holding on to nearly half of that nitro-boosted growth rate in recent years is actually really good. Sky-high valuation Let me point back to the voluntary GAAP losses. Roku isn't trying to generate huge taxable profits at this time, which makes price-to-earnings (P/E) ratios largely unusable. Even the forward-looking version of this common metric relies on Roku's guidance targets filtered through Wall Street's analysis. If anything, the analyst community's projections are more optimistic than Roku's official targets. Management expects a $30 million GAAP loss in fiscal year 2025, which would work out to another "not applicable" P/E ratio. If you look at other valuation metrics, Roku starts to look like a bargain. Trading at 2.6 times trailing sales, the stock is comparable to slow-growth giants such as Caterpillar or Unilever. Roku also seems undervalued, if you base your analysis on its robust balance sheet, with a price-to-book ratio of 4.4 and a price-to-cash multiple of 4.9. The stock seems stuck I'll admit that Roku's stalled stock chart can be frustrating. Share prices are down 17% over the last three years, missing out on 44% growth in the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) market index. Roku's sales are up 45% over this period, while free cash flow rose by 66%. When will the big payoff come, rewarding patient shareholders for Roku's quiet success? That's OK, though. Keeping stock prices low just gives investors more time to build those Roku positions. I have bought Roku more often than any other stock since the spring of 2022, and I might not be done adding shares yet. Whenever I have spare cash ready for investments, Roku pops up as a top idea. That remains true in June 2025. So, let the chart slouch lower. Affordable buy-in prices can set you up for tremendous long-term returns. Should you invest $1,000 in Roku right now? Before you buy stock in Roku, consider this: The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team just identified what they believe are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy now… and Roku wasn't one of them. The 10 stocks that made the cut could produce monster returns in the coming years. Finally, Some Good News for Tesla Investors

Tesla 's (NASDAQ: TSLA) challenges have been numerous in 2025, and investors can be forgiven for wanting to take a mulligan and perhaps redo the past six months. The electric vehicle (EV) maker is facing sales declines in key markets, backlash from consumers due to CEO Elon Musk's political antics, and another massive price cut from BYD in China, among other headwinds. Finally, some good news for Tesla investors to chew on: driverless vehicle testing and Musk's political exit. Robotaxi testing Tesla might really be doing this whole robotaxi thing, after years of overpromising on its strategy to eventually derive most of the company's value through its Robotaxi ambitions. In fact, it may already be happening under our noses. According to CEO Elon Musk via his X account, Tesla has been testing self-driving Model Y vehicles with no one in the driver's seat for several days on the public streets of Austin, Texas. This isn't exactly news, considering Tesla promised to launch the robotaxi service in June, but nobody would blame investors for being skeptical the automaker would once again fall short of expectations. More specifically to the launch of driverless technology, Tesla will do a slow rollout, with plans to geofence its vehicles to the "safest" parts of Austin. It will initially start with a few Tesla-owned Model Ys before planning to grow to roughly 1,000 vehicles within a few months. Tesla investors will be holding their collective breath during the initial rollout because the danger is real, competitors and critics are watching, and the stakes are high. Remember, General Motors invested billions into its Cruise driverless vehicle subsidiary before throwing in the towel after a pedestrian incident (among other challenges). There's at least one person in Tesla's corner, however. "There will be many setbacks, but given its unmatched scale and scope globally, we believe Tesla has the opportunity to own the autonomous market," said Dan Ives, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, according to Automotive News. "The march to a $2 trillion valuation for Tesla over the next 12 to 18 months has now begun." Back to work No, this subhead isn't regarding remote workers moving back to the office, but rather the company's controversial CEO exiting his role with the Trump administration. Musk is allegedly back to working 24/7 and sleeping at the Tesla factory. On May 28, Musk again took to his X account to thank President Donald Trump for his time working with Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, and a White House official confirmed with Reuters the information, adding, "Off-boarding will begin tonight." As much of the consumer backlash, protests, and brand defections were driven by Musk's political antics, investors should be thrilled to hear this adventure is coming to an end. It's likely to blow over in time. At the end of the day, 2025 still brings many challenges for the automaker facing sales adversity for essentially the first time, but these two developments were at least a breath of fresh air for Tesla investors tired of taking in the bad news. While Tesla might look like a buying opportunity right now, and it very well could prove to be long-term, investors would be wise to wait and see the direction of the company first. Currently, it feels like a company torn between manufacturing cars, ramping up robotaxi business, or developing artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. Either way, stay tuned: Tesla's story is still in the early innings. Don't miss this second chance at a potentially lucrative opportunity Ever feel like you missed the boat in buying the most successful stocks? Then you'll want to hear this. On rare occasions, our expert team of analysts issues a 'Double Down' stock recommendation for companies that they think are about to pop. If you're worried you've already missed your chance to invest, now is the best time to buy before it's too late. And the numbers speak for themselves: Nvidia: if you invested $1,000 when we doubled down in 2009, you'd have $367,516!* Apple: if you invested $1,000 when we doubled down in 2008, you'd have $38,712!* Netflix: if you invested $1,000 when we doubled down in 2004, you'd have $669,517!* Right now, we're issuing 'Double Down' alerts for three incredible companies, available when you join Stock Advisor, and there may not be another chance like this anytime soon.
