'We can't overthink it'
Nottingham Forest captain Ryan Yates on missing the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City through suspension: "I try not to think about it too much. It's part and parcel. They just need to change the rules - a couple of bookings is normal for me. I'm sure the lads are going to get through it and I can have the final."It's going to be so special. You have to enjoy these occasions. We can't overthink it. That's not what the manager is like, Nuno is so consistent with our processes. We will treat it like any other game but knowing there is that extra little bit of excitement and anticipation."BBC Radio Nottingham's Colin Fray offered plenty on the looming fixture, stating: "Manchester City have been to the new Wembley 28 times. When you think about it, it is almost a full Premier League season of matches since the new Wembley was built. The other thing is six of their most recent visits have been FA Cup semi-finals. This is their seventh FA Cup semi-final in a row, so they are very used to this occasion."For Forest, first one at the new Wembley, first semi since 1991. Forest fans have waited a lifetime for an occasion like we will see on Sunday. That might just give Forest an edge to nullify City's experience. You never know. You never know before any Wembley game because it's about who adapts the better to the wide open spaces, the torrent of noise that we know will come from the Forest fans. It's just intriguing."Listen to Shut Up And Show More Football featuring interviews with Yates, Jota Silva and experts on the FA Cup semi-final

Maya Jama joins Ruben Dias's Manchester City team-mates in mocking his 'geography teacher' outfit
Ruben Dias has been torched for his latest outfit by his Manchester City team-mates and girlfriend Maya Jama - despite dressing smartly. The defender was mocked for his sartorial selection as he arrived for Portugal duty, being compared to a 'geography teacher' in a post that left his pals in stitches. Dias had seemingly done little wrong, turning up dressed neatly in a light green checkered long-sleeve shirt, dark brown trousers, and polished black shoes. On Sunday he was revealed as the summer cover star for the quarterly luxury magazine Sports World, giving credence to his stylistic reputation. But none of that mattered to his tribe of team-mates, who, for whatever reason, tore apart Dias in the comments of his latest Instagram post. 'If I speak I'm in big trouble,' said Bernardo Silva, quoting Jose Mourinho. Bernardo Silva led the way with the comments, quoting Jose Mourinho in his mockery 'Honestly,' added Matheus Nunes alongside a sneezing emoji. One fan commented: 'When you have a geography class to teach but also training at 4.' And that was enough to reel in Love Island presenter Jama, who added her own sprinkling of ridicule with three laughing emojis. However, other people were more generous, with one on X saying: 'This is a generational fit.' Another said: 'Am I being daft, not entirely sure what's wrong with the outfit?' 'The outfit was so good tho,' wrote another. If there was any doubt at all about their union, Jama put it to bed last week as she shared a photo of her and Dias soaking up the sun on a boat during a romantic getaway in Italy. The presenter, 30, and the footballer, 28, are thought to have been secretly dating for several months, after they met at the European Music Awards (EMAs) in November. Their romance was finally confirmed after they were seen showing affection at KSI 's Baller League event in April. The presenter has been seen at multiple football games over the last few months to watch Dias live in action for Man City. Footage of the pair last month showed them with their arms around each other before he leant into her neck for a peck, with Ruben flying under the radar in casual clothes and a cap. It is the first time they have been seen in public since they were thought to have started dating - though Maya has often hinted at the romance by sharing snaps of flowers she has been sent. Their appearance at the Baller League came just one day after she supported Ruben at Wembley on Sunday as his team Manchester City triumphed 2-0 against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-finals. During the last international break in March, Maya flew to Lisbon to watch him play for the Portuguese national team. She was pictured in the stands at the José Alvalade Stadium to witness Portugal's 5-2 victory over Denmark in the second leg of their Nations League quarter-final. The presenter was seen with a friend and glasses of wine in a VIP hospitality box - usually reserved for friends and family of players. Maya then posted a picture on social media of the two celebrating together at their romantic fireside retreat at 3:30am the following morning. The snap is believed to have been taken at the footballer's home in the Cascais region of Portugal, with a vast swimming pool and fire pit glimpsed in the picture. They reportedly started dating in December, having met at the EMAs in November, which took place in Manchester. Rumours of the couple's romance only intensified in the days following Valentine's Day after Jama shared the bouquet of roses she received on her return to the UK from Cape Town following the conclusion of the 2025 Love Island All Star season. The pair were then spotted wearing matching Cartier 'LOVE' bracelets, which were listed at £5,050 on the store's website. Jama was seen wearing the pricey gift in the Instagram post before Dias was spotted wearing the same item as he arrived for training ahead of City's Champions League play-off second leg against Real Madrid in February. They have kept tight-lipped on the dating rumours - but in March, Gary Lineker seemingly confirmed their relationship by referencing the defender as Maya's 'boyfriend' to her face. After the incident, Maya did not deny Gary's claim and only labelled the Match of the Day presenter 'weird'. Maya appeared to be upset after the former England player put her on the spot and prompted further speculation.

Tottenham tipped to appoint Man Utd legend after speaking to other managers over replacing Ange Postecoglou
TOTTENHAM have been tipped to appoint Manchester United legend Michael Carrick after speaking to potential replacements for Ange Postecoglou. The Aussie's future remains in doubt despite guiding Spurs to glory in the Europa League. 2 2 The Londoners finished the Premier League season in 17th. And Tottenham chief Daniel Levy has been speaking to other managers about potentially replacing Postecoglou in the dugout this summer. Fulham's Marco Silva and Brentford's Thomas Frank have both been linked with the job. While there is also interest in Crystal Palace FA Cup winner Oliver Glasner and Inter Milan Champions League finalist Simone Inzaghi. However, former Chelsea, West Ham and England winger Joe Cole reckons Spurs should be looking in another direction. He has urged them to drop their gaze south to the Championship and take a look at their former midfielder Carrick, who is now in charge of Middlesbrough. The five-time Premier League winner with Man United has been in charge at the Riverside since October 2022, winning 63 of his 136 games in charge. Carrick's Boro finished 10th in the table this season, four points off the playoffs. But despite missing out on a promotion push, Cole feels Carrick could be a perfect fit for Tottenham, where he made 75 appearances between 2004 and 2006 as a player. Cole told Paddy Power: 'At Tottenham, Daniel Levy is running out of managerial candidates for the job. He's gone big, he's gone bold, and he's gone off the beaten track, but none of them seem to have worked. 'Michael Carrick could be a good option for the manager's job. An ex-Spurs player, who understands the club, would be quite nice. 'Also, I'd like to see Glenn Hoddle back at the club in some capacity. I know Tottenham fans would love to see him back and he's got the best football brain I know. 'I'd love to see Glen Hoddle back in the club in some capacity, maybe supporting Michael Carrick. The club needs bringing together because it was really torn at times last season.'

Man Utd could ruin Liverpool long-term transfer plan with Bryan Mbeumo move
Manchester United have decided to pursue Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo in the summer transfer window in a transfer which could force a re-think for rivals Liverpool Manchester United are chasing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo in a move which could have a knock-on effect for rivals Liverpool. United had wanted to sign Ipswich striker Liam Delap alongside Wolves' Matheus Cunha, but are now looking at a £50million deal for Mbeumo. Delap is heading to Chelsea in a £30m transfer having snubbed United and Everton, prompting a re-think at Old Trafford. Mbeumo enjoyed a wonderful campaign for Brentford, registering 20 goals and eight assists in 38 Premier League matches, and is poised to change clubs in the summer transfer window. United are understood to be 'confident' of landing Mbeumo, who has previously been linked with Liverpool, as well as Newcastle. Arne Slot 's side have also been busy in the early stages of the summer transfer window, signing Jeremie Frimpong for £29.5m while chasing the signature of his former Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Florian Wirtz. Mbeumo plays in the same position as Mohamed Salah on the right wing and has a similar style, often cutting onto his left foot to shoot at goal. It had been suggested that the 25-year-old Cameroon international would therefore make a solid long-term successor to Salah. Salah signed a new two-year contract with Liverpool back in April, but with the Egyptian star now 32 years old – and with a move to the Saudi Pro League still on the cards in the future – there is a need to plan ahead. If Mbeumo chooses to move to Old Trafford then it would seem that Liverpool will need to go back to the drawing board. United are facing a crucial summer transfer window after finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing the Europa League final. Ruben Amorim wants to overhaul his underperforming squad and the capture of Mbeumo – alongside Cunha, who is joining in a £62.5m move – would be a statement of intent. Brentford manager Thomas Frank has worked with Mbeumo for six years and has seen him blossom into one of the Premier League's most effective forwards. He knows that, despite finishing 10th, five places above United, the Bees will struggle to hold onto Mbeumo, who can command much higher wages elsewhere. HAVE YOUR SAY! Would Bryan Mbeumo be a good signing for Manchester United? Comment below. 'He's been fantastic,' he told Sky Sports recently. 'For me, it's been a privilege to work with him for six years and see his development from a teenager, I think he was 19 when he came or a young man, to a more grown-up man in many ways. And that personal development I think is equally as important. 'I always knew he was a goalscorer. Now he's now just a more consistent goalscorer. His hold-up play is even better, his assist play or link-up play, his work ethic is fantastic. So very impressed.' Asked if he will remain a Brentford player next season, Frank replied: 'Let's see. We all love him. I watch him every day, he comes in with a big smile, trains with a big smile. He loves to be a Brentford player but let's see.'
