However, despite all of the speculation, Mofokeng remains an Orlando Pirates player. Last weekend, he was on the field for the entire 90 minutes in the club's MTN8 victory over Polokwane City.
Now, new head coach Ouaddou, when speaking to the media on Tuesday, insisted he would like the player to remain with the club for the rest of the season.
'I read this news as well, such a talent, of course it attracts a lot of clubs,' Ouaddou said.
'But I trust my board, I trust the club because definitely he's one of our major players this season and we need him to compete at the highest level. We need this kind of players in our team. As a coach I'm still confident but in football you never know what will happen.
'But still now I'm still confident (that he will stay) since I didn't receive any information, but I hope he will stay with us.'
Pirates will kick off the new campaign when they host Sekhukhune United at Orlando Stadium this Saturday. Kick off is at 5.30pm.

Orlando Pirates news: Lekgwathi and Ouaddou

Former Orlando Pirates captain Lucky Lekgwathi believes the Buccaneers have what it takes to end Mamelodi Sundowns' dynasty in the Betway Premiership, but only if they learn from past mistakes and show greater consistency against so-called smaller teams. Sundowns have set a high standard in recent years, regularly finishing seasons with more than 70 points, with Orlando Pirates' former coach Jose Riveiro dubbing them a 'points machine.' Orlando Pirates finished 12 points adrift of Sundowns last season and a massive 23 points the year before. I hope they have learnt from dropping points against some of the smaller teams,' Lekgwathi said… Full story here. Lucky Lekgwathi captains Orlando Pirates in the Premier Soccer League. Confirmed: Kaizer Chiefs target still belongs to Sundowns Orlando Pirates supporters enjoyed no fewer than three MTN8 trophies and two Nedbank Cup titles in three seasons under Riveiro. 'It's positive pressure, I must say, when you put your feet in such a big club, not only in South Africa, but on the continent, of course, the board doesn't bring you here to chill, I know the expectation of the fans, of the board,' Ouaddou told the media… Full story. Orlando Pirates news: Saleng and Sebelebele

Orlando Pirates have done a Mamelodi Sundowns, and a storm of criticism is coming. A controversial clause in Monnapule Saleng's loan deal to newly promoted Betway Premiership side Orbit College FC has emerged. The clause prevents Saleng and two other Orlando Pirates loanees at the Mswenko Boys from participating in both league fixtures against their parent club during the 2025/26 season. Saleng, aged 27, has 25 goals and 17 assists in 70 games for Orlando Pirates and was expected to be a major drawcard for Orbit College against the Sea Robbers. Adnan Beganovic sets sights on top-eight finish for TS Galaxy

TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic will be aiming for a third consecutive Top 8 finish after a strong debut season in charge. Photo: Backpagepix Image: Backpagepix TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic has made it clear that his side should no longer be spoken about in relegation terms, as they prepare to open their Betway Premiership campaign against newly promoted Durban City on Sunday. The Rockets finished last season inside the top eight, and the Serbian tactician wants to build on that momentum rather than dwell on survival battles of the past. The Mpumalanga-based club were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the MTN8 by Sekhukhune United last week. 'I think this season I don't want to talk about surviving. I don't want to talk about the same issues,' Beganovic said. 'I saw exactly what we have, and we analysed everything, and we just use what we have in that moment." TS Galaxy really had a terrible second half on Saturday, everything was going well till half time. I hope they get few exciting signings and they can compete for top 5. — 039🚭 (@_Richard92) August 7, 2025 Video Player is loading. We want to put our goals high, we want to fight for a top-eight spot because of everything we did in the last six, seven months. 'We started this pre-season, and we want to just add on everything we did last season. I know it can't be easy, and we will need time to teach our new players our vision, our philosophy and our model — how we want to look, how we want to play this season. Until now, I'm happy with what I saw in pre-season.' Galaxy's home opener against Gavin Hunt's Durban City will be an early test of their readiness, particularly with the visitors eager to make a mark in their first-ever top-flight campaign. The Rockets will also head into the match with one of their standout performers from last season still in the squad — despite transfer speculation. If Kaizer Chiefs didn't include a sell-on clause in Ndamane's transfer to TS Galaxy, it speaks volumes about the club's current state of management. — Ndabezitha👑 (@LehlohonoloSho8) August 5, 2025
