Red Lab Gets His Golden Retriever Girlfriend Pregnant and a Classic 'Shotgun Wedding' Results

Yahoo11-03-2025

Things happen, you know? We can't always control everything, and sometimes, something goes awry. The best way to deal with those situations is to do the right thing, even if it's not what you pictured.
On Monday, March 10th, one Red Labrador Retriever found himself in the most hilarious "shotgun wedding" after he got his girlfriend, a beautiful Golden Retriever, pregnant. His dad was not about to let him jump ship. The ceremony was certainly something:
Dan and Sam are so funny for this. People in the comments are creating a mess, of course, wondering if these are really his puppies. This is a shotgun wedding, guys! Not an episode of Maury! There are three pups involved in this saga:
Jackson, the black Lab
Scout, the red Lab (and the father)
Riley, the Golden Retriever
Jackson is purely there for the vibes, but the story goes that Scout got Riley pregnant somehow, and so of course, their dad put on a wedding for them. Scout and Riley have been besties for years, so if you ask me, I think it's totally on Dan and Sam for not getting them hitched sooner!
Riley is actually due tomorrow, so it's only a matter of hours until we'll get to see the puppies. Dan was stressing about this wedding, that's for sure. In addition to calling it Holy Mutt-rimony, Dan cracked everyone up with, "we might be outside, but we are still before the Lord." Can he give a speech at my wedding next?!
Honestly, we can't tell if Riley is their dog or if she's just a neighborhood pup, but whatever the case, this was probably a shock to whoever takes care of her. We never think our dogs are going to get knocked up unintentionally, but it can definitely happen!
The first thing you should do when you suspect that your dog is pregnant is get them to the vet. Not only can the vet confirm your suspicions; they'll check in on the babies and see if everything is going alright. If it's early enough and you're not interested in having puppies, they can spay your dog and terminate the pregnancy.
If you'd like to keep the puppies and your vet doesn't think it'll negatively effect the dog's overall health, you can:
Ask friends or family members if they'd like to take one in.
Bring her in for recurring vet visits to ensure the pregnancy is going well.
Prepare a whelping box.
If you're not comfortable, most vets will assist with the labor and delivery process.
After an accidental pregnancy, you should have the dog spayed to prevent further incidents like these. Luckily, Riley has all the support she needs, and they'll do what's best for her - even if that means a "shotgun wedding." I seriously might never stop laughing.

Emmerdale star reveals character was almost 'written out' of ITV soap

An Emmerdale star has opened up on the death of her mother and her 'best friend' saying she 'learned a lot about grief' in the process. Lisa Riley, known for playing Mandy Dingle on the ITV soap, lost her mother in July 2012. The tragedy was just months before she joined BBC dancing show Strictly Come Dancing, where she was paired up with Robin Windsor. Riley credits Windsor for helping her get through the grief and has now opened up on her mother and Windsor's deaths. Really excited to be going on @GMB this coming Thursday 12th June. Launching something very dear to my heart with @Sue_Ryder and discussing what's coming up for Mandy & Paddy in @emmerdale 💛💛💛 #gmb #goodmorning #goodmorningbritain #sueryder #charity #emmerdale #london 💙💙💙 — LISA RILEY (BLUE TICK) (@Reallisariley) June 10, 2025 Robin Windsor died in February last year at the age of 44. The Latin and ballroom dancer was best known for appearing on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. His cause of death was not given. Riley has now opened up on coping with the deaths of Windsor and her mother on ITV's Good Morning Britain. She said: 'I've learned a lot about grief and how to deal with it, and how to be open and to literally ask for help, because it's okay. 'Sometimes people go really within, my brother's that person, we all deal with things differently, and I was pressing the bravado button going, 'I've got to go out and play Mandy Dingle every day, I've got to dress up as Mandy and be funny'. 'There were some days I didn't want to be funny, I'm lucky with the brilliant girls in my dressing room, where we lean on each other, and my work with Sue Ryder, I've realised that there is a helpline out there. 'The internet is brilliant, there are so many places you can go to, Sue Ryder being one of them for help.' She also praised the Emmerdale team for their support, calling them 'phenomenal' after they offered to write out her character to give her time off. Riley added that she wanted to continue working, saying she 'knows it's what Robin would have wanted'. The actress said: 'Me, being me, I didn't want to be at home in my bedroom, or at home thinking about it too much, I had to carry on with my day job. 'But the make-up girls, what people at home won't know when they're watching Emmerdale is I was having my make-up done three times because I couldn't get it together, I couldn't, day in, day out, and work were brilliant, like we know, we'll write you out, we'll give you time off should you need it. Fans have taken to social media to send support to Riley after opening up about her grief. She posted an Instagram reel in support of the Sue Ryder Charity, saying: "You are never ever ever alone with @surerydercharity. Please go to the webpage if you are struggling - there will be someone to listen." One fan replied: "Sending hugs Lisa, how brave you are for sharing your story, your Mum sounds like a wonderful woman." A second added: "This made me cry, bless ur heart, Lisa, your mum would be so proud of the lovely woman you are. Lots of love." A number of characters have left the popular ITV soap this year. Emmerdale legend Lesley Dunlop, who plays Brenda Walker, has left after 16 years. Lisa Riley and Lottie Tomlinson on shared grief of losing mums: 'It doesn't go away, you learn to live with it'

Lisa Riley and Lottie Tomlinson have spoken candidly about the loneliness of loss, and the different ways they've learned to carry it, in a new short film created in collaboration with bereavement charity Sue Ryder. Both women have found that grief doesn't vanish. It changes shape, lingers in quiet moments, and resurfaces without warning. The loss of their mothers remains a defining part of their lives — years later. 'It's not something you ever get over,' said Emmerdale star Riley, 48, who lost her mum Cath to cancer in 2012. 'There's no rule book. No right or wrong. It just becomes part of you.' Influencer Tomlinson, 26 — the sister of singer Louis Tomlinson — lost her mum Johannah in 2016, aged 18. Three years later, she endured another devastating loss when her younger sister Félicité died of an accidental drug overdose at the same age. 'Even with people around you, grief can still feel incredibly lonely,' Tomlinson says. 'There are days when all you want is the person who's gone. And nothing really fills that gap.' In the short film, the pair reflect on the small but powerful things that bring comfort — from a handwritten card to a song lyric that transports them back to a happier time. But more than anything, they both stress the importance of opening up. 'I really believe in the power of talking,' Tomlinson says. 'Bottling things up only makes it harder. Whether it's a friend, family member or someone outside your circle, just offloading what you're feeling can really help.' Riley, too, finds healing in shared stories and laughter. 'My mum had this wicked sense of humour,' she smiles. 'Keeping that spirit alive through memories, through music — that's what works for me.' Figures released alongside the film reveal that nearly 9 in 10 bereaved people feel alone in their grief, with many unsure where to turn for support. 'It's heartbreaking, but it doesn't surprise me,' Riley says. 'Grief makes people uncomfortable. Often they say nothing at all. But just asking someone how they like to remember the person they've lost can open up so much.' For both Riley and Tomlinson, the message is simple: there's no right way to grieve — but nobody should feel they have to do it alone. Sue Ryder offers a range of free grief support, including an online bereavement community and in-person Grief Kind Spaces. Search 'Grief Deserves Better' or visit
