Red Lab Gets His Golden Retriever Girlfriend Pregnant and a Classic 'Shotgun Wedding' Results
Things happen, you know? We can't always control everything, and sometimes, something goes awry. The best way to deal with those situations is to do the right thing, even if it's not what you pictured. On Monday, March 10th, one Red Labrador Retriever found himself in the most hilarious "shotgun wedding" after he got his girlfriend, a beautiful Golden Retriever, pregnant. His dad was not about to let him jump ship. The ceremony was certainly something: Dan and Sam are so funny for this. People in the comments are creating a mess, of course, wondering if these are really his puppies. This is a shotgun wedding, guys! Not an episode of Maury!There are three pups involved in this saga: Jackson, the black Lab Scout, the red Lab (and the father) Riley, the Golden Retriever Jackson is purely there for the vibes, but the story goes that Scout got Riley pregnant somehow, and so of course, their dad put on a wedding for them. Scout and Riley have been besties for years, so if you ask me, I think it's totally on Dan and Sam for not getting them hitched sooner! Riley is actually due tomorrow, so it's only a matter of hours until we'll get to see the puppies. Dan was stressing about this wedding, that's for sure. In addition to calling it Holy Mutt-rimony, Dan cracked everyone up with, "we might be outside, but we are still before the Lord." Can he give a speech at my wedding next?! Honestly, we can't tell if Riley is their dog or if she's just a neighborhood pup, but whatever the case, this was probably a shock to whoever takes care of her. We never think our dogs are going to get knocked up unintentionally, but it can definitely happen! The first thing you should do when you suspect that your dog is pregnant is get them to the vet. Not only can the vet confirm your suspicions; they'll check in on the babies and see if everything is going alright. If it's early enough and you're not interested in having puppies, they can spay your dog and terminate the pregnancy. If you'd like to keep the puppies and your vet doesn't think it'll negatively effect the dog's overall health, you can: Ask friends or family members if they'd like to take one in. Bring her in for recurring vet visits to ensure the pregnancy is going well. Prepare a whelping box. If you're not comfortable, most vets will assist with the labor and delivery process. After an accidental pregnancy, you should have the dog spayed to prevent further incidents like these. Luckily, Riley has all the support she needs, and they'll do what's best for her - even if that means a "shotgun wedding." I seriously might never stop laughing. 🐶🐾🐾

Sheriff's Office welcomes new K-9 deputy Dunkin at Dunkin Donuts
Gaston County Sheriff's Office invited the Gaston community to a meet-and-greet with its newest K-9 deputy, Dunkin. Dunkin, a Red Labrador Retriever, is Gaston County's newest narcotics detection K-9. Sheriff Chad Hawkins introduced Dunkin to the community on Wednesday morning at the Gastonia Dunkin' Donuts on N. New Hope Road. The four-legged crime fighter was born to a litter in 2023 that was donated to Highland K-9, a Harmony service and police K-9 training facility, according to a press release. Dunkin is a non-apprehension narcotic K-9, meaning he is trained to track illegal substances and vulnerable missing persons, according to the Gaston County Sheriff's Office. READ: Church plans to create new facility for substance abuse in Gaston County Police say Dunkin will be a valuable member of the county's Project Lifesaver program, which works to locate individuals with cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer's, dementia, and autism. K-9 Dunkin will spend most of his time working at the Gaston County Detention facility with his handler Deputy William Linkous, according to GCSO, to ensure a secure and drug-free facility.
