2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV Review, Pricing, and Specs

Overview
The Chevy Blazer EV is offered with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive and three trim levels. Power ranges from a sedate 220 horsepower on the front-drive LT to an exciting 615 horses on the all-wheel-drive SS. The front-wheel-drive LT and RS models are the distance kings, with an EPA range rating of 312 miles. Regardless of powertrain choice and driveline configuration, the Blazer EV delivers satisfying driving dynamics and a comfy ride, and it's all wrapped in a sporty, handsome package. There's good room inside for up to five, as well. Other sporty electric SUVs to consider include the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT and the Tesla Model Y Performance.
What's New for 2026?
Chevrolet has eliminated the rear-wheel drive RS trim from the Blazer EV lineup for 2026, but that trim can still be had in front- or all-wheel drive arrangements. Polar White Tricoat replaces Iridescent Pearl Tricoat on the exterior color palette. A new Tech Bronze package is available on all models and adds 22-inch bronze wheels and black exterior decals.

The price of the 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV is expected to start around $47,000 and go up to $63,000 depending on the trim and options.

We'd go with the mid-range RS model, which comes standard with cool 21-inch wheels, a power-operated hands-free liftgate, heated-and-ventilated front seats, a heated flat-bottomed steering wheel, and an illuminated Chevrolet bowtie logo. While the RS is offered in front- and all-wheel-drive configurations, the AWD version has more horsepower while the FWD one offers more driving range.

EV Motor, Power, and Performance
The entry-level Blazer EV LT and the mid-range RS trim are both available with either front- or all-wheel drive. Front-wheel-drive models come with a single 220-hp electric motor, while all-wheel-drive models are powered by two electric motors that combine for 300 horsepower. We drove an all-wheel-drive RS and found its acceleration to be adequate but far from thrilling. If your budget allows for it, the range-topping SS model comes exclusively with a 615-hp electric powertrain with standard all-wheel drive. Chevrolet has also endowed the Blazer EV with decent road manners. During our test drive, the RS delivered a smooth ride and predictable handling. We wish the steering offered more feedback, but body roll is kept well in check and the brakes are operated through a firm pedal that inspires confidence. Like other EVs, the Chevy utilizes a regenerative braking system, and when active it provides several levels of available regen, with the highest setting allowing for one-pedal driving.
0–60-MPH Times
The all-wheel-drive Blazer RS we tested got to 60 mph in 6.0 seconds, and the powerful Blazer EV SS knocked off the 60 mph mark in just 3.3 seconds, seventh-tenths quicker the 4.0-second figure quoted by Chevrolet.

Range, Charging, and Battery Life
The front-wheel-drive models boast the highest EPA estimated driving range of the lineup at 312 miles. Going with the all-wheel-drive version of either the RS or the LT drops that estimate to 283 miles. The powerful SS has a rated range of 303 miles. In our real-world 75-mph highway range test, the AWD Blazer EV RS achieved a result of 200 miles while an AWD LT model managed 210 miles. The Blazer EV is capable of charging on a DC fast-charger, and Chevrolet says it can charge at up to 190 kW and add about 78 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPGe
The EPA hasn't released any fuel economy information for the 2026 Blazer EV yet, but the 2025 model earned ratings as high as 106 MPGe city, 85 MPGe highway, and 95 MPGe combined. MPGe stands for miles per gallon of gas equivalent, an EPA metric that estimates PHEV and EV vehicle fuel efficiency. For more information about the Blazer EV's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The Blazer EV is strictly a two-row affair, but both the front and rear seats are spacious and comfortable for adults. All models come with a sporty interior design motif that nicely matches the SUV's aggressive exterior styling. Round air vents flank the dashboard, and in RS and SS trims Chevrolet has adopted a two-tone black-and-red color scheme. A more monotone look is available for those who don't appreciate the flash. Folding the rear seats down expands the 26-cubic-foot cargo area to a much larger 60-cubic-foot space with a flat floor that makes it easy to load bulkier items. When we get a chance, we'll rate the Blazer EV's cargo capacity with our carry-on suitcase test and update this story with the results.

Infotainment and Connectivity
All models come with a large 17.7-inch infotainment display that's canted slightly toward the driver and framed on the left and the bottom by physical controls for the climate control system and a volume knob. A secondary 11.0-inch display presents the driver with gauges and other driving info. The Blazer EV's infotainment system is GM's latest version and uses Google Built-In. The software provides easy access to popular apps such as Spotify, Waze, and Google Maps, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are not offered. That may irk some drivers, many of our staffers included, but overall, the interface is easy to use. The navigation system is especially informative, giving a remaining-range estimate for your final destination and also suggestions for charging stations along the route.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Chevrolet bundles a host of driver-assistance features together as standard, including automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and a parking assist feature. GM's Super Cruise hands-free driving system is also available. The proposed changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program would make states pick up more of the costs, require several million more recipients to work or lose their benefits, and potentially reduce the amount of food aid people receive in the future. The legislation, which narrowly passed the U.S. House, could undergo further changes in the Senate, where it's currently being debated. Trump wants lawmakers to send the 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act' to his desk by July 4, when the nation marks the 249th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Here's a look at the food aid program, by the numbers: Year: 2008 The federal aid program formerly known as food stamps was renamed the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, on Oct. 1, 2008. The program provides monthly payments for food purchases to low-income residents generally earning less than $1,632 monthly for individuals, or $3,380 monthly for a household of four. The nation's first experiment with food stamps began in 1939. But the modern version of the program dates to 1979, when a change in federal law took effect eliminating a requirement that participants purchase food stamps. There currently is no cost to people participating in the program. Number: 42 million A little over 42 million people nationwide received SNAP benefits in February, the latest month for which figures are available. That's roughly one out of every eight people in the county. Participation is down from a peak average of 47.6 million people during the 2013 federal fiscal year. Often, more than one person in a household is eligible for food aid. As of February, nearly 22.5 million households were enrolled SNAP, receiving an average monthly household benefit of $353. Dollars: $295 billion Legislation passed by the House is projected to cut about $295 billion of federal spending from SNAP over the next 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office. A little more than half of those federal savings would come by shifting costs to states, which administer SNAP. Nearly one-third of those savings would come by expanding a work requirement for some SNAP participants, which the CBO assumes would force some people off the rolls. Additional money would be saved by eliminating SNAP benefits for between 120,000 and 250,000 immigrants legally in the U.S. who are not citizens or lawful permanent residents. Another provision in the legislation would cap the annual inflationary growth in food benefits. As a result, the CBO estimates that the average monthly food benefit would be about $15 lower than it otherwise would have been by 2034. Ages: 7 and 55-64 To receive SNAP benefits, current law says adults ages 18 through 54 who are physically and mentally able and don't have dependents would need to work, volunteer or participate in training programs for at least 80 hours a month. Those who don't do so are limited to just three months of benefits in a three-year period. The legislation that passed the House would expand work requirements to those ages 55 through 64. It also would extend work requirements to some parents without children younger than age 7. And it would limit the ability of states to waive work requirements in areas that lack sufficient jobs. The combined effect of those changes is projected by the CBO to reduce SNAP participation by a monthly average of 3.2 million people. Percentages: 5% - 25% The federal government currently splits the administrative costs of SNAP with states but covers the full cost of food benefits. Under the legislation, states would have to cover three-fourths of the administrative costs. States also would have to pay a portion of the food benefits starting with the 2028 fiscal year. All states would be required to pay at least 5% of the food aid benefits, and could pay more depending on how often they make mistakes with people's payments. States that had payment error rates between 6-8% in the most recent federal fiscal year for which data is available would have to cover 15% of the food costs. States with error rates between 8-10% would have to cover 20% of the food benefits, and those with error rates greater than 10% would have to cover 25% of the food costs. Many states could get hit with higher costs. The national error rate stood at 11.7% in the 2023 fiscal year, and just three states — Idaho, South Dakota and Vermont — had error rates below 5%. But the 2023 figures are unlikely to serve as the base year, so the exact costs to states remains unclear. As a result of the cost shift, the CBO assumes that some states would reduce or eliminate benefits for people. Margin: 1 House Resolution 1, containing the SNAP changes and tax cuts, passed the House last month by a margin of just one vote — 215-214. A vote also could be close in the Senate, where Republicans hold 53 of the 100 seats. Democrats did not support the bill in the House and are unlikely to do so in the Senate. Some Republican senators have expressed reservations about proposed cuts to food aid and Medicaid and the potential impact of the bill on the federal deficit. GOP Senate leaders may have to make some changes to the bill to ensure enough support to pass it.
