Kuberaa and Kannappa Pre-Release Events Postponed After Ahmedabad Plane Crash
Nagarjuna, Dhanush, and Rashmika play the lead roles in the film Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula.
The film team had recently announced that the pre-release event would be held in Hyderabad on Friday. However, in light of the plane crash in Ahmedabad, it has now been revealed thatthe event is being postponed. The team has expressed solidarity with the victims of the incident.
Kuberaa, made on a pan-India scale, is scheduled to release on June 20.
Actor Manchu Vishnu has also announced that the pre-release event and trailer launch of Kannappa are being postponed due to the same tragedy. The film team had planned to hold the event in Indore on Friday.
This pan-India movie, directed by Bollywood director Mukesh Kumar and starring Vishnu in the lead role, is set to release on June 27.

Nagarjuna addresses changing trends in Tollywood and Bollywood: 'It can't be fantastic all the time'

During an interview with Galatta Plus, Nagarjuna shared that he believes these trends are cyclical, and no industry remains at the top forever. When asked if Bollywood has lost it's spark in contrast to a booming southern film industry, the actor dismissed it saying, "These narratives keep changing." He explained that it's like an actor or director having a bad time of 4-5 years. He further explained, "Everything cumulative probably happened there, and films didn't work. And then they say the whole film industry is gone. In my time, in the Telugu film industry, it has happened four times. And I believe the fourth time will come now, very soon. I'm very sure, it's my hunch." Nagarjuna was also asked about filmmaker Naga Vamsi's recent prediction of a "bloodbath" in Tollywood due to changing audience tastes and underperforming films. The actor disagreed with it but also shared the need for timely reinvention. He about how films like mentioned that Tourist Family' in Tamil, 'Court' in Telugu, and 'Anaganaga' on OTT are working so well. He shared that audience's tastes are changing and as filmmakers, they have to keep that in mind. "They have to change fast. If we don't look at the future, things could be pretty bad. I feel that's what happened in Hindi. Now they'll change. It can't be fantastic all the time", he said. On the work front, he will be seen next in 'Kuberaa' joining Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. The movie will be released on June 20. He will be further seen in Rajinikanth's film 'Coolie' which also includes the brief appearance of stars like Aamir Khan, Upendra Rao and Pooja Hegde.

Nagarjuna doesn't believe in narrative of south films doing better than Hindi: ‘It can't be fantastic all the time'
Actor Nagarjuna is not one of those who believe that the southern film industries are somehow faring better than Bollywood. In an interview with Galatta Plus, he spoke about why he sees a bright future for the Hindi film industry while Tollywood might see a down period. Sekhar Kammula's Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh-starrer Kuberaa will be released in theatres on 20 June. Lokesh Kanagaraj's Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie, which also stars Nagarjuna, will be released in theatres on 14 August. Nagarjuna will announce his upcoming film in the coming months.

Madhoo Recalls Filming ‘Horrible' Kissing Scene In 90s: ‘Wasn't Told To Me Beforehand'
Last Updated: Madhoo Shah reveals that the only deal-breaker for her was not doing explicit scenes onscreen and how she wishes to do what Shabana Azmi (who played queer) did in Fire someday. Madhoo Shah, who rose to fame with Mani Ratnam's Roja, believes that she had a rather 'gharelu' image and that it was her 'upbringing' that didn't let her do bold films. In her own words, the only deal-breaker that she had was to not do explicit scenes onscreen. 'And that's the only reason why I turned down films. Otherwise, I said yes to everything that came my way," she tells News18 Showsha exclusively. However, there's this one time that she had kissed her co-star, who she decides not to name, in a film, which didn't turn out to be a very pleasant experience. Recalling the episode, she says, 'It wasn't the kind of kiss that we see in films today. It was more like a peck on the lips but that made me feel really bad." In fact, she came to know about it only when she reached the sets. 'That I was required to kiss wasn't something that was conveyed to me before I began shooting. When I was told, they took me to the side and we had a conversation. They explained to me why it was important and that's why I did it. But it was the most horrible and non-convincing thing I had to do," Madhoo shares. Eventually, she decided to let it go and it made its way to the final cut of the film. 'The kiss didn't even serve any purpose. I didn't even have a conversation with the director to not include that scene in the film. I let it pass. I was too young in every way and not just by age. Today, 22-year-olds and 24-year-olds are so clever and exposed. At 22, I was very naïve," says the actor, who will next be seen in Kannappa. However, it was Deepa Mehta's 1996 film Fire where Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das played lesbian lovers that began to change her perception about onscreen intimacy. 'I don't mean to say that onscreen kissing is a bad thing. When I saw Fire starring actors like Shabana ji, I thought they really broke the barrier of their own conditioning, which I was unable to do back then. I don't think I can do what they did even now. I appreciate actors who can shave their heads off or play lesbians in films," Madhoo remarks. Having said that, she looks forward to coming out of her own inhibitions by taking baby steps at this phase of her career. 'To separate yourself as a person and an actor and break psychological barriers is something that I want to do in my own way. Back in the day, I was just a girl who wanted to be a movie star. Today, I'm an actor who can wants to do different kinds of roles. I want to see how much I can break my own conditioning and transform myself and if I can play a role as convincingly as Shabana ji did in Fire," she says. First Published:
