Selena Gomez's fiancé Benny Blanco reveals the biggest 'argument' the high-profile couple ever had

Daily Mail03-05-2025

Benny Blanco has revealed the biggest argument he has had, to date, with his pop star fiancée Selena Gomez.
The couple have recently released their first collaborative album, I Said I Love You First.
The songwriter and producer, 37, appeared on Nova's Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel on Friday, where he gave an insight into the couple's working relationship.
Host Ricki-Lee Coulter asked Benny how he and Selena, 32, approached the potential minefield that comes with working together in a creative space.
'Honestly she's so easy,' Benny revealed.
'When we first started making it [the album], if anything starts to feel weird, we're stopping this immediately, and it never did.'
Benny did open up about one unusual spat the couple had during recording - all about chirping birds.
'The biggest thing we got in was about birds,' he admitted.
Benny revealed that the couple recorded the album at home largely in a guest bedroom. However, it soon became apparent that Selena had an audience.
'For some reason there was a nest of birds that were right outside the window where she was recording,' he said.
'I never heard it because whenever I walked in the birds didn't make noise.'
Benny added that Selena became frustrated with Benny not being able to hear the chirping coming from beyond the window, until she captured irrefutable proof.
'It was frustrating so much,' he said. 'Finally she got it on wax, it picked up on the mic and I finally heard it.'
Continuing, Benny said the couple's avian ordeal taught him one important thing about their relationship.
'It made me realise, "oh shoot, we're really meant for each other," because we're not the arguing type,' he said.
'We're not like yellers, we just kind of talk everything out. We have really good communication skills.'
'The biggest thing we got in was about birds,' he admitted. 'For some reason there was a nest of birds that were right outside the window where she was recording,' he said. 'I never heard it because whenever I walked in the birds didn't make noise'
Benny's admission comes as Selena revealed this week that the couple will be ditching a major wedding tradition when they walk down the aisle.
The Only Murders in the Building star admitted she's planning to ditch the classic bride and groom dance at their reception because she's too shy.
'I don't think we're looking at having one of those 'cause they're a little — I feel embarrassed,' she said on Wednesday's episode of Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware.
'She's shy,' Benny confirmed.
But while there won't be a traditional first dance, Selena revealed she's making room for a deeply meaningful moment — a special dance with her grandfather.
'He never got a chance to walk my mom down the aisle,' she shared. 'I wanted to give [my grandfather] the opportunity to have that.'
Another tradition that will be on the dance floor? The Hora — also known as the 'chair dance' — as a nod to Benny's Jewish heritage.
And while Selena's on board, she confessed she's more than a little nervous.
'It was frustrating so much,' he said. 'Finally she got it on wax, it picked up on the mic and I finally heard it'
The couple have recently released their first collaborative album, I Said I Love You First
'I've got to be honest, it looks so cute and adorable but I was like, "What? I have to depend on just something like [a chair]?"'
The pop star confirmed her relationship with the producer in December 2023, and the pair got engaged a year later.
'Forever starts now,' Selena wrote at the time, showing off her sparkling diamond ring.
Selena and Benny have known each other for over a decade — since 2013, when he first met her mother, Mandy Teefey.
He later co-produced two of her hits Kill Em With Kindness and Same Old Love, from her 2015 album Revival.

Katheine, who hasn't had any cosmetic surgery on her face so far – although she has had filler, Botox, and a boob job – revealed that she is not only planning a face lift but is also considering additional treatments. Katherine, a mother of three, admitted she is seriously thinking about it after gifting her mum a face lift for her birthday. She added: 'Recovery is fine. 'She looked beautiful, like day one, she looked good. 'Been a swelling days like two to 12, and then she looked good again, and she was going out. 'Now she wasn't under scrutiny, being like papped, but she looked good, and she couldn't feel her face. 'She was medicated, which some would say is the best part. She was fine.' What is a face lift and how quick is the recovery? A FACE lift (technically called a rhytidectomy) is a cosmetic surgical procedure which tries to reduce visible signs of ageing in the face and neck. The procedure begins with either general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia with sedation to ensure you're comfortable and pain-free. The surgeon makes incisions based on the type of face lift. The surgeon lifts the skin and underlying tissues (SMAS layer – superficial musculoaponeurotic system). Fat may be sculpted, removed, or redistributed. The underlying muscle and connective tissues are tightened and repositioned to create a more youthful look. The skin is gently laid back over the newly repositioned contours and incisions are closed with sutures (medical stitch) or skin adhesives. Recovery time varies, but most people return to normal activities within two to four weeks. MUM'S FACE LIFT Katherine previously revealed that she paid '50 grand' for her mum to have a face lift. Speaking on Vogue Williams' Never Live It Down podcast, the actress explained that her mum Julie was 63 at the time and added that it was a 'good age to get a face lift.' Katherine defended getting work done and said: 'I think there are people who look at plastic surgery, cosmetic, you know, treatments, anything, and they feel sad. 9 Katherine said she bought her mum a face lift as a gift Credit: Getty 'They're like, 'there are more important things in life'. We know! ''She should love herself more'. I do! 'Those are the funniest comments when men will try to be allies, and they'll come in and they'll go, 'do you know, ladies, men don't actually want you to'. 'And I go, 'nothing that we do is for you at all. I don't care what you think'. ''I don't care if you live or die.'.' PREGNANT KATHERINE This comes as Katherine has revealed she's expecting baby number four. The 41-year-old and her partner Bobby Koostra will welcome another baby together, in an exciting addition to their family, just two months after Katherine's skin cancer diagnosis. 9 Katherine has three children with her husband Bobby, including son Fred, three, and daughter Fenna, two, as well as 15-year-old Violet from a previous relationship Credit: UKTV Katherine has two children with her husband Bobby, including son Fred, three, and daughter Fenna, two, as well as 15-year-old Violet from a previous relationship. And now, she'll be adding baby number four to the brood, as reported by Hello! The TV star had a mole removed privately last week, but after it was discovered to be cancerous, Katherine had to undergo another procedure. She then revealed she has melanoma on the latest episode of her podcast Telling Everybody Everything. It's the second time Katherine has been diagnosed with the disease, after having first had it at the age of 21 in 2004.

Lara Pulver on Fiddler on the Roof: 'this show is always heartbreakingly relevant'

Pulver immediately strikes you as very alive, if that's not a silly thing to say, but it's just the way her eyes take up most of the room as she seeks to accommodate you - 'I'm a Jewish mother, a feeder, you can't come to my house without someone trying to put food in your mouth,' she'll say later - and how you can just imagine how she grabbed the attention back in that village hall, and has continued to do throughout her stellar career on stage - Olivier award-winning for Gypsy in 2016 - and starring in nation TV treasures like Spooks and Sherlock.

This powerful photo exhibit shows the turmoil of Coney Island in the 1960s-70s

These days, Coney Island is known for its roller coasters, Mermaid Parade, and Hot Dog Eating Contest, but back in the 1960s and 1970s, it was a very different story. Instead, the Brooklyn neighborhood resembled "a war zone" between 1965–1975 amid ill-conceived government projects, as the Coney Island History Project explained. Now, a new exhibit of street photography from that era examines what life was like back then. Charles Denson grew up in the West End of Coney Island and began photographing his neighborhood as a teenager. His photos are now part of the exhibition "Coney Island Streets: 1965–1975," which you can visit for free all summer at the Coney Island History Project. The fee exhibit shows the effects of discriminatory policies that began back in 1938 when the federal government "redlined" Coney Island. Redlining targeted the area because of prejudice against immigrants, African Americans, and local residents who were predominantly of Jewish, Italian, and Irish ancestry, the Coney Island History Project explains. The flawed policies of the Federal Housing Administration made it nearly impossible for homeowners to obtain mortgages, loans, and insurance. Slumlords, arsonists, greedy developers, and block-busting took advantage of the situation, and quality of life deteriorated as the area became a poverty pocket. "I grew up to the sounds of fire engines and bulldozers as block after block of viable housing went up in flames or was reduced to rubble under the treads of heavy machinery. None of the structures in my photographs has survived," Denson said in a press release. Block after block of viable housing went up in flames or was reduced to rubble. The government's Urban Renewal program called for the demolition of 60 blocks of homes and businesses. Then, government funding for such projects ran out in 1974, leaving the Coney Island community with a debris field of burned out structures and closed businesses. "My photographs show how resilient the neighborhood proved to be as residents survived as best they could with what remained. During this 10-year period I photographed portraits of local residents, family-run businesses, and the dramatic day-to-day changes taking place in Coney Island," Denson added. My photographs show how resilient the neighborhood proved to be. After photographing his neighborhood as a teen, Denson eventually began his career in 1971 as a photographer for New York Magazine. Today, he is an author of several books about Coney Island and served as executive director of the nonprofit Coney Island History Project. See the exhibit for free at the Coney Island History Project exhibition center (3059 West 12th Street, next to the West 12th Street entrance to Deno's Wonder Wheel Park, just a few steps off the Boardwalk). It's open on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays through Labor Day, 1–7pm.
