EastEnders star sells home and moves into caravan after being killed off on soap

Daily Mirror3 days ago

EastEnders star James Bye, who played Martin Fowler, has made a huge life change months after his character met a fateful end in one of the soap's saddest episodes ever
EastEnders star James Bye has sold his home and is now living in a field after bidding farewell to Albert Square earlier this year. In one of the soap's saddest episodes, marking its 40th birthday, James' character, Martin Fowler, was killed off when the Queen Vic collapsed, leaving his legion of loyal fans bereft.
Following the dramatic scenes, James, 41, who is currently playing Mr Darcy in a theatre tour of Death Comes to Pemberley, has made a major life change as his wife told their followers they have sold their home and moved into caravan - with their four kids and two blind dogs. Revealing the surprising news on Instagram, Victoria said: "It's official …because we've only gone and sold our 'forever home'. And not only that. We've done it so that we can move into a field - and into a caravan…

"Yes, you read that right. A tin box on wheels with barely enough room to swing a cat let alone four kids + two blind dogs. S**t. Now, you may wonder what in the hell we're doing (I know we do, both still I denial I think!)"
Explaining the 'method to their madness', Victoria said it had long been a dream for the couple to live in a caravan because both their parents had done it in the eighties.
Revealing that James' sister was even conceived in a home on wheels, she said: "A dream we've long since had and just never had the time … or the belief that we could.
"And yet somehow, when it feels like we've got more than ever on our plate, we thought. Sod it. It's now or never. This is our year for change. And so we are.
"I mean, what's could go wrong?! (Er, right. Everything apparently. But let's just breeze over that bit and get back to following your dreams & all that gumph…) Because, really, it has been a bit of a dream of ours for a very long time.
"And it's no surprise because both of our parents did the very same thing back in the 80's! And they survived! (just about!) In fact, James' sister was conceived in their caravan right on the foundations of the house they still call home to this day!"

Despite James' parents creating new life in their caravan, Victoria was adamant that she and James would not be adding to their family of six.
Lifting the lid on their family plans, she said: "And whilst there is a firm NO on any baby making shenanigans going on in our little love pad, the same belief & hope for something that we've built on our own is there.

"It'll be an adventure. A messy, chaotic, mud filled ride - just us & our boys. And we cant wait. We might even get an alpaca. What the hell, in for a penny & all that…
"So stick around for the journey you lovely lot - and please - any advice send our way."

EastEnders fans distracted by outrageous detail in background of Albert Square scene - but can you spot it?

EastEnders viewers were distracted by an outrageous detail in the background of an Albert Square scene. An old episode of the BBC soap featured a particularly notable headline on a newspaper stand. According to a fan on Reddit, the headline for the fictional Walford Gazette seemed to be about chicken yoga. The viewer penned: 'I love finding these 'made up headlines'.' 'I couldn't help but notice the headline on Walford Gazette probably says 'Chicken Yoga Takes City By Storm',' they added, followed by three chicken emojis. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The fan went on, 'Seriously, Chickens do Yogas?' and ended with a laughing emoji. It's not the first time eagle-eyed viewers found themselves distracted by background details in the show. During an episode in April, Jean (Gillian Wright) entered her home and pushed a pram through the doorway. She left a voicemail for her granddaughter Lily and was trying to find out where she was. Jean was looking after Lily's daughter and her great-granddaughter, Charli. Though the pram appeared to be empty when she entered the house, the camera then panned to show Charli sat inside it. Some viewers noticed the blunder and took to social media to point it out. One posted on X: 'EastEnders are really getting lazy when it comes to checking their scenes before adding them into the episode cause tell me why Jean's pushing an empty f****** pushchair then suddenly a child's in it #EastEnders.' Someone commented: 'Omg I did not notice this lol!' Another said: 'I was laughing so much when I seen this big L from the camera man.' While a fourth wrote: 'I noticed this too.' Someone else said: 'Oh dear lol.' While another added: 'I was watching an old episode of Brookside and the same thing happened there too.' Elsewhere, fans all made the same joke after a glaring Sonia Fowler blunder during a live episode in February. The nurse (Natalie Cassidy) welcomed her baby girl into the world after she was trapped in the Queen Vic during the fire. Viewers were worried that the youngster wouldn't survive after staying quiet after being born. Some viewers noticed the blunder and took to social media to point it out Sonia, Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) and Lauren Branning (Jaqueline Jossa) were over the moon when she finally started crying amongst the drama. By the instalment many fans pointed out the same thing about Sonia's daughter - that she had some how managed to dramatically grow in size throughout the live ep. One wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: 'Sonia's baby has tripled in size within 5 mins… #EastEnders.'

His outing comes after it was revealed that the model and Celebrity Race Across The World star had moved in with his nan Jackiey Budden in her Bermondsey home. Jackiey, who has lived in the London area close to Tower Bridge all her life, has been spending an increasing amount of time with her grandson amid his feud with TV star father Jeff. It is understood that he has been living at her South London home despite the legal row launched by his father Jeff, 46, to block Jackiey from seeing him. Freddy, 20, was just four-years-old and his EastEnders actor brother Bobby, was five when their mother Jade Goody died from cervical cancer in 2009. The Big Brother legend passed away at the age of 27 after a seven month battle with cancer and he has since been raised by his dad. Since then, Jackiey and Jeff have clashed several times before The Sun on Sunday revealed that the former Dancing on Ice contestant took legal action for his son's wellbeing. Despite trying to keep the duo apart, The Mail reports that Freddy spent the last week with his grandmother at her home in Bermondsey. Freddy Brazier defies dad Jeff to post new TikTok with nan Jackiey after legal action and 'weed smoking' row A source told the publication: "Jeff was never going to keep Freddy away from his Nanny for very long – they've always had a strong bond. "Jeff may hate her for all sorts of reasons going back many years, but Freddy loves her very much. "They had a great time together, playing with her dog and catching up at her flat – where he has often stayed over the years. "Whatever Jeff hoped to achieve with his legal efforts, it hasn't worked." This comes after we spotted Freddy smoking a joint with his former reality TV star grandmother near Tower Bridge in full view of tourists. Our exclusive photos and video show them smoking a suspicious-looking cigarette as Jackiey was seen to be 'acting erratically' with her grandson. An onlooker remarked: "The pair were puffing away in the open, in full view of tourists passing by and there was an aromatic smell in the air. The source added: "She appeared to be acting erratically." 5 It comes amid his ongoing feud with his father Jeff Credit: Homeserve
