Linda's EastEnders return story 'sealed' as she's 'joined by old face'
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) may have only just made a temporary EastEnders departure this week, but there's guaranteed drama ahead upon her return. The former pub landlady handed over the keys to her beloved Queen Vic to Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) on Tuesday, deciding to head on a cruise with her children ahead of a fresh start. After a morning of reflection, she knew that the bad times in the boozer outweighed the good times, and it was the right decision to move on. However, before she could put her troubles to one side, she had to address a looming threat that had just arrived in Albert Square – Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier)! He had no idea that he had another sibling living in the area, as his dad Max (Jake Wood) had fathered Linda's youngest daughter Annie in 2021. And it's not just Oscar who was unaware, as Max has been kept in the dark every since she was the born. Linda knew that she'd have to tell Oscar eventually, and squirmed when he said he would take great joy in watching his dad's face drop. Luckily, after some tough words from his sister Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa), he agreed to keep quiet. Jake's return as the notorious womaniser was officially confirmed earlier this month, with Executive Producer Ben Wadey teasing: 'Whilst his character has only been away from Albert Square for four years, Walford, and the lives of those who live in it, have changed immensely. 'Max has a lot of unfinished business, but whether he is welcomed by his family remains to be seen. 'However, with a past as checkered as Max's, it's fair to say that many Walford residents will not be pleased to see him, putting the Brannings back at the heart of the Square, and the drama, this year.' Max's whereabouts are largely unknown. It's been explicitly stated on a number of occasions that both Oscar and Laurenhave been estranged from him for quite some time. He initially departed for New Zealand, and the last we heard of Max, brother Jack (Scott Maslen) had visited him in France. He then fled to Croatia with granddaughter Abi Jr. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? EastEnders' Kat tears into Alfie as she has a theory about who he's helping
A lot has changed since EastEnders' Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) left Walford in search of Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) last month, not least his wife Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) buying the Queen Vic. But if he thinks she's about to roll the red carpet out for his return, he might want to think again. Next week's episodes will see Alfie finally come home after his secret trip, and it's not long before Kat is tearing into him for lying about where he has been. As fans of the BBC soap will remember, last month saw Kat's estranged daughter Zoe make a sudden and unexpected reappearance after 20 years. But shortly after she was reunited with cousin Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and step-dad Alfie, she made a run for it with Alfie soon heading off to Spain to track her down. With Kat in the dark about Zoe's reappearance, Alfie lied to her and told her he was spending time with his brother Spencer Moon (Christopher Parker) in Australia. When Kat later found out he wasn't really in Australia, Stacey had to cover for him, lying that Alfie had another cancer scare and was away clearing his head. However, Kat is now under the impression that he has been helping his daughter Cherry, who was the result of his affair with Hayley Slater (Katie Jarvis). More Trending After Alfie returns home and clashes with Kat, he promises never to lie to her again – but little does she know he is still hiding the 'muvva' of all secrets… The question remains, however – has Alfie managed to track Zoe down and convince her to come home? EastEnders' Alfie Moon makes drunken Zoe Slater confession - and fans are stunned
EastEnders fans were left in shock during tonight's episode as Alfie Moon made a shock drunken confession about Zoe Slater - has he finally exposed himself to Kat? Alfie Moon made a shock confession to his wife Kat in tonight's episode of EastEnders after he was four beers deep. Viewers are aware that Alfie is currently in Barcelona in an attempt to help and bring his stepdaughter Zoe Slater back to Walford. Kat is still unaware of his whereabouts, after first believing he was away in Australia visiting his brother Spencer. Stacey is the only one who knows of Alfie's exact whereabouts and what he's doing, as she confirmed Jean's suspicions of him going to help Hayley Slater and their daughter Cherry to throw them off. Tonight, Kat learnt about the fake story, as she was devastated he lied about having another cancer scare. It's been a busy time for Kat while Alfie's been away as she took over as landlady at the Queen Vic. Tonight, the residents threw a party to welcome Kat back into her role - while Alfie was drinking for completely different reasons over in Spain. It looked like Alfie's guilt got the better of him as he made a shock confession. After a call from a guilt ridden Stacey told Alfie that Kat knew they were lying to her and he needed to return - but Alfie went one step further. Spilling all he said: "When you came round to Stacey's Air BnB Zoe was there. But she wasn't in a good place Kat. She was in trouble and she needed money." With tears in his eyes clutching a beer, Alfie continued: "I really did my best to bring her back to Walford. "I know you're going to hate me right now. But I don't want to lose you Kat. I can't lose you. I don't want to lose you." Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: "Of course Alfie got the wrong end of the stick when Stacey said Kat 'Knows everything' - Stacey should've filled him on the Hayley lie that she's been peddling since Jean brought it up. Kat better not listen to that voicemail otherwise Stacey is screwed." "ALFIE TELLING KAT IN A VOICEMAIL OMFG," exclaimed another shocked fan, as a third echoed: "ALFIE'S VOICEMAIL?????? ARE YOU JOKING ME????? I JUMPED OUT OF BED!" Will Kat listen to the voicemail?

Eilis O'Hanlon: 'Are we really meant to believe that Kat Slater, with the vaguest of employment histories, could buy the Queen Vic?'
The Queen Vic went up for auction in EastEnders (BBC One, Monday, 7.30pm) this week. For those who've been living under a rock since 1985, that is the pub in Albert Square which has been the scene of some of the soap's most iconic moments, including at least three murders I can recall offhand, not to mention two Brannings falling off the roof seven years apart.
