The Prompt: ChatGPT Generates Fake Passports
Welcome back to The Prompt,
Chip giant Nvidia said on Monday it will start manufacturing AI supercomputers— machines that can process copious amounts of data and run complex algorithms— entirely within the U.S. for the first time. The announcement comes after President Trump signaled that imported semiconductors would be targeted by tariffs this week and announced a national security trade investigation into chip imports from China. Nvidia said it has already started producing its Blackwell chips in TSMC's Phoenix, Arizona plant and plans to work with partners like FoxConn and Wistron to set up other factories in Houston and Dallas. It plans to build robots to operate the facilities, which will be designed using 'digital twins'— a virtual simulation of their real world objects and environments —to build the plants faster. But even keeping chips aside, Trump's tariffs could make building AI datacenters more expensive, as they are reliant on raw materials imported from other countries, Forbes reported.

Now let's get into the headlines.
Community colleges across the country are facing an onslaught of enrollments from 'bot' students who enroll in classes by the hundreds to bilk tens of millions of dollars in state and federal aid money, Voice of San Diego reported. These 'bot' students use fake aliases and submit AI-generated homework in order to stay 'enrolled' long enough to collect aid. In 2024, about 25% of community college applicants in California were bots.
Google has trained an AI model that aims to decipher patterns and structures in dolphin sounds with a goal of understanding their meaning and ascertaining whether they have language. Named DolphinGamma, the model consists of 400 million parameters and is trained on data from the Wild Dolphin Project, a nonprofit that studies and collects data on Atlantic spotted dolphins. The end goal of the project is to build technology that might facilitate two-way interactions between human researchers and dolphins in the ocean.
AI continues to be a white hot focus for companies–as does the talent needed to build it. To that end, Google Deepmind makes its employees sign noncompetes that can last as long as a year, preventing them from joining a rival for 12 months after they stop working at Google, according to Business Insider. The employees continue to get paid during the extended garden leave period. Nando De Frietas, a former Google DeepMind director, shared his frustration with the contracts on X: 'It's abuse of power, which does not justify any end.'
Writer CEO and cofounder May Habib.
May Habib, CEO and cofounder of $1.9 billion-valued enterprise AI startup Writer, says she isn't just selling her company's AI software–which allows 300 companies like Intuit, Salesforce and Uber to build AI apps for specific functions across marketing, HR and sales–she's 'selling a different way of doing things.' The company, featured on the Forbes AI 50 list, is expanding to launch a new platform for AI 'agents' — systems that can carry out specific work autonomously. From pitching clients like Visa on her nascent machine learning based translation software back in 2016 to now training a family of cost efficient AI models dubbed Palmyra (named after the ancient Syrian city) for the enterprise world, the company's strategy has remained the same: building what its customers want.
Researchers from Cato Security have found that ChatGPT can easily generate fake documents like passports, driver's licenses and social security cards.
In late March, OpenAI added new image generation capabilities to its star product ChatGPT. The update went viral, resulting in a deluge of Studio Ghibli-inspired AI-generated images posted across social media and drawing millions of users to the platform.
But new research from cybersecurity firm Cato Networks has found that ChatGPT can now be tricked into creating a slew of fake documents, including passports, social security cards and driver licenses. It can also be used to spin up convincing counterfeit checks and receipts. OpenAI spokesperson Taya Christianson said 'our goal is to give users as much creative freedom as possible.' Images generated by ChatGPT include C2PA metadata to identify them as AI-generated and OpenAI takes action against people who violate the company's usage policies.
Etay Maor, a chief security strategist at Cato Networks who has been studying cyber gangs for the past 20 years, said these forged documents are typically sold on the dark web and have largely been difficult to obtain. But thanks to AI tools like ChatGPT, creating realistic fake documents has become orders of magnitude easier and faster. Documents like passports and driver's licenses are key to verifying a person's identity and manipulated IDs open the floodgates for criminals to commit financial, insurance and medical fraud. The implications for misuse are broad and wide ranging, from gaining access to bank accounts to prescription abuse, Maor said. 'Not just somebody who's a professional criminal, anybody can do this. And that's what's super troubling about this,' he said. In a matter of seconds, he was also able to prompt ChatGPT to create a fake passport of a person that somewhat resembled me.
The use of AI by cybercriminals isn't new. ChatGPT other AI tools have been used to create malware code, write phishing emails and supercharge cyberattacks. It's not just AI tools that generate text, but technologies that cater to other mediums like voice, images and videos have added extra layers that help cybercriminals carry out complex fraud.
'All these different elements that build trust— style of a person, their visuals, their voice, their official credentials—all these building blocks for trust are disappearing,' Maor said.
A startup called InTouch uses AI to call your parents or grandparents to check in on them and have a conversation if you don't have the time, 404 Media reported. The AI can be prompted to speak about and ask questions about certain topics. After the call is over, the person who sets up the call receives an AI-generated summary of the call and notes about the person's mood. 'The idea of having an AI call your lonely relative because you can't or don't feel like it is dystopian, insulting, and especially non-human, even more so than other AI-based creations,' Joseph Cox writes.
Education secretary Linda McMahon repeatedly confused AI (artificial intelligence) with A1(steak sauce brand) while giving a speech at ASU+GSV summit in San Diego. The sauce brand seized the moment, sharing an image on Instagram: 'You heard her. Every school should have access to A1.'

Trump threatens to cut Musk government contracts amid agenda bill spat
Tesla CEO Elon Musk and President Donald Trump hold a press conference in the Oval Office at the White House on Friday as Musk ends his tenure as director of the Department of Government Efficiency. Photo by Francis Chung/UPI | License Photo June 5 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to cut Elon Musk's government contracts through Tesla amid his departure from his role cutting government spending and opposition to Trump's sweeping legislative agenda bill. Trump threatened to end all government contracts with the Musk-founded Tesla in a post on Truth Social and suggested that would be a fast way to reduce government spending. "The easiest way to save money in our budget, billions and billions of dollars, is to terminate Elon's governmental subsidies and contracts," Trump wrote. Tesla share prices declined by more than 14% on Thursday and shed $152 billion in value from the EV maker. Trump on Thursday accused Musk of going "crazy" after the president canceled the federal electric vehicle mandate imposed by the Biden administration. "I took away his EV mandate that forced everyone to buy electric cars that nobody else wanted," Trump said in a Truth Social post on Thursday. "He just went crazy!" Trump said he asked Musk to leave his advisory position with DOGE, although Musk was scheduled to exit the position at the end of May. Musk earlier said Trump would not have won the Nov. 5 election without his help. He contributed an estimated $250 million to Trump's campaign effort. "Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate," Musk said Thursday morning in a post on X. Musk has criticized the proposed "one big, beautiful" federal government budget bill as increasing the nation's debt and negating his work with DOGE. The entrepreneur opposes the spending bill that the House has passed and is before the Senate because it removed tax credits and subsidies for buying EVs, Trump claimed. "I don't mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done that months ago," Trump said in a subsequent Truth Social post on Thursday afternoon. "This is one of the greatest bills ever presented to Congress," he continued. "It's a record cut in expenses, $1.6 trillion dollars, and the biggest tax cut ever given." If the measure is not passed, Trump said it will trigger a 68% tax increase, "and things far worse than that." The president said the "easiest way to save money ... is to terminate Elon's governmental subsidies and contracts" with Tesla. Later on Thursday, Musk in an X post said it is "time to drop the really big bomb" on the president. Trump "is in the Epstein files," Musk said. "That is the real reason they have not been made public." Musk did not say in what context Trump allegedly appears in the Epstein files, but ended his post with: "Have a nice day, DJT!" He made a subsequent post that asks: "Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?" Trump and Musk often appeared together at high-profile events in the first four months of the administration.

AI risks 'broken' career ladder for college graduates, some experts say
Artificial intelligence could upend entry-level work as recent college graduates enter the job market, eliminating many positions at the bottom of the white-collar career ladder or at least reshaping them, some experts told ABC News. Such forecasts follow yearslong advances in AI-fueled chatbots, and declarations from some company executives about the onset of AI automation. Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, which created an AI model called Claude, told Axios last week that technology could cut U.S. entry-level jobs by half within five years. When Business Insider laid off 21% of its staff last week, CEO Barbara Ping said the company would go "all in on AI" in an effort to "scale and operate more efficiently." Analysts who spoke to ABC News said AI could replace or reorient entry-level jobs in some white-collar fields targeted by college graduates, such as computer programming and law. Current job woes for this cohort, they added, likely owe in part to economic conditions beyond technology. Many blue-collar and other hands-on jobs will remain largely untouched by AI, they said, noting that tech-savvy young workers may be best positioned to fill new jobs that do incorporate AI. "We're in the flux of dramatic change," said Lynn Wu, a professor of operations, information and decisions at the University of Pennsylvania. "I sympathize with college graduates. In the short run, they may stay with mom and dad for a while. But in the long run, they'll be fine. They're AI natives." Over the early months of 2025, the job market for recent college graduates "deteriorated noticeably," the New York Federal Reserve said in April. It did not provide a reason for the trend. The unemployment rate for recent college graduates reached 5.8%, its highest level since 2021, while the underemployment rate soared above 40%, the New York Fed said. Youth unemployment likely stems from trends in the broader economy rather than AI, Anu Madgavkar, the head of labor market research at the McKinsey Global Institute, told ABC News The softening job market coincides with business uncertaint y and gloomy economic forecasts elicited by President Donald Trump's tariff policy. "It's not surprising we're seeing this unemployment for young people," Madgavkar said. "There is a lot of economic uncertainty." Still, entry-level tasks in white collar professions stand at serious risk from AI, analysts said, pointing to the technology's capacity to perform written and computational tasks as opposed to manual work. AI could replace work previously performed by low-level employees, such as legal assistants compiling relevant precedent for a case or computer programmers writing a basic set of code, Madgavkar said. "Is the bleeding edge or the first type of work to be hit a little more skewed toward entry-level, more basic work getting automated right now? That's probably true," Madgavkar said. "You could have fewer people getting a foothold." Speaking bluntly, Wu said: "The biggest problem is that the career ladder is being broken." For the most part, however, Madgavkar said entry-level positions would change rather than disappear. Managers will prize problem-solving and analysis over tasks dependent on sheer effort, she added, noting the required set of skills will likely include a capacity to use AI. "I don't think it means we'll have no demand for entry-level workers or massively less demand," Madgavakar said. "I just think expectations for young people to use these tools will accelerate very quickly." Some jobs and tasks remain largely immune to AI automation, analysts said, pointing to hands-on work such as manual labor and trades, as well as professional roles like doctors and upper management. Isabella Loaiza, a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who studies AI and the workforce, co-authored a study examining the shift in jobs and tasks across the U.S. economy between 2016 and 2024. Rather than dispense with qualities like critical thinking and empathy, workplace technology heightened the need for workers who exhibit those attributes, Loaiza said, citing demand for occupations like early-education teachers, home health aides and therapists. "It is true we're seeing AI having an impact on white-collar work instead of more blue-collar work," Loaiza said.

Technology and Experience in Resonance: BACXN Redefines the Core Value of Crypto Trading
Colorado, USA, June 6, 2025 -- In recent global user surveys, BACXN has received extensive positive feedback regarding 'smooth trading,' 'security and stability,' and 'clear operations.' These voices affirm its development achievements, and remind us that what truly retains users is never mere slogans, but the experience and trust delivered in every transaction. In a highly volatile and fiercely competitive market environment, the ability of a platform to provide stability and certainty at critical moments has become the core standard for measuring professionalism. BACXN remains committed to ensuring that every aspect, from underlying system architecture to user interaction details, serves one goal—to make technology a true guarantee of experience, rather than a source of interference. We believe that all trust should be built on visible performance, verifiable mechanisms, and sustainable security design. An efficient transaction is not just about saving time; it is crucial for strategy execution and cost control. The self-developed high-performance smart matching engine of BACXN can process up to 200,000 orders per second, maintaining smooth performance even under extreme market conditions. Through deeply optimized matching algorithms and path-matching mechanisms, the platform helps users reduce slippage and enhance transaction certainty. On the security front, BACXN has established a dynamic protection system based on a zero-trust architecture. The platform incorporates AI behavior recognition, multi-factor authentication, and device fingerprint identification to monitor and respond to abnormal activities in real time, ensuring full-chain protection from login to asset transfer. The platform guarantees 100% asset reserve coverage and continuously discloses fund status through on-chain Proof of Reserves (PoR). Cold-hot wallet isolation, MPC multi-signature, secure encryption, and quantum-resistant protection have long been integrated into daily operations—not as promotional highlights, but as the standard norm. True security should not rely on a sense of trust, but must be established on verifiable and traceable mechanisms. Behind every successful order and asset arrival is the silent operation of the BACXN system. Our focus is both on technical capability and on whether users feel at ease, experience clarity, and maintain lasting trust. Looking ahead, BACXN will continue to enhance efficiency through technology and safeguard asset security through risk controls, building a long-term connection between the platform and users through a trustworthy experience. We firmly believe this is not only the platform responsibility, but its mission to lead the digital economy into the mainstream.
