A BRIT tour guide has tragically died while snorkelling at a popular diving spot in Indonesia.
The young backpacker, 24, was reportedly working as a diving instructor when she and another person plunged from a 50ft cliff.
Members of the crew and other visitors rushed to the bottom to help the woman.
As they reached the shore, they found that the woman was still breathing.
But the Brit was tragically pronounced dead before reaching the nearby hospital.
Cops said the woman was part of a tour group of 10 when the incident happened.
A spokesman said: "At around 8:30 WITA, the group arrived at the first location, Gili Peteluan, for snorkelling.
"Then, at around 09:15 WITA, they continued to the second spot, Semangko Sea at Pink Beach, for more snorkelling activities.
"After they finished at the second location at around 11:15 WITA, one of her fellow snorkelling guides asked the guests to return to the boat for a lunch break.
"The two guides then went diving again to a depth of about 10 to 15 metres.
"When she was about to return to the surface of the sea, the victim's condition suddenly became unusual, so her friend guided her to the surface."
The police spokesman said the boat captain immediately headed for the Telong-Elong Pier, where an ambulance was waiting to take the woman to the hospital.
However, she tragically died less than an hour later.
Authorities said they were interrogating the crew and tourists present at the scene.

Rising star surfer, 20, dies in freak accident after letting car tow him while he rode e-bike

A rising star surfer tragically died at just 20 years old after being towed by a car on his e-bike on California 's iconic Pacific Coast Highway. Kolby Aipa, 20, died Tuesday from injuries he suffered on Saturday when he was struck by the vehicle towing him in Huntington Beach, police said. Aipa lost control of his bike while being towed by a friend driving a Toyota Tacoma around 10pm. The driver is not suspected of being impaired at the time of the accident. Emergency responders transported the surfer to UCI Medical Center, where died three days later, the Los Angeles Times reported. An investigation into the accident remains ongoing, police said. Friends, family and community members gathered on Tuesday night to honor Aipa, whose family owns the surfboard and apparel company Aipa Surf. He was remembered as a kind, caring young man and a talented surfer who followed in the footsteps of his grandfather Ben Aipa, a member of the Surfing Walk of Fame and Surfers' Hall of Fame. Aipa Surf, founded by Ben Aipa in 1970, put out a statement saying the family was 'completely heartbroken.' 'Kolby always had a way with touching the lives of whoever he met,' the statement said. 'His acts of kindness and caring was his gift of Aloha to friends and strangers alike' A friend wrote on Instagram: 'Kolby lit up every room he walked in. He loved and cared about everyone matter our differences. He never let me go through any challenge or struggle alone. He was the strongest person I've ever met. 'I'm so grateful I got to spend countless memories with you Kolby. You always pushed me to be better. You helped me through my darkest times. You impacted my life and my family like no other.' The Huntington Beach Board Riders Club remembered the young surfer as a 'rare soul who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.' 'He was kind, respectful, and a strong spirit. He was always polite, and quick to lend a hand,' the club said. 'Kolby was a remarkable young man and surfer. He had the kind of integrity you don't see everyday. He looked you in the eye when he spoke to you and he made his family very proud.' A message from the City of Huntington Beach said the community was 'deeply saddened by the passing of Kolby Aipa,' describing him as a 'talented and beloved young member of our surfing community.' 'Kolby's passion for the ocean and the sport of surfing left a lasting impression on Surf City, but it was his kindness, compassion, and way of touching the lives of everyone he met that made him truly unforgettable.' Mayor Pat Burns added: 'Our hearts are with the Aipa family during this difficult time. Kolby's spirit, talent, and Aloha will forever be remembered in Huntington Beach. We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to his loved ones.' A GoFundMe launched to help lay the young surfer to rest has raised over $74,000 as of Wednesday morning 'To everyone that read this... pass his Aloha on. So, how Kolby treated you, treat others in that same way,' the fundraiser said.

Brit schoolgirl, 13, drowned while snorkelling with dad at Florida theme park – as tributes pour in to ‘beautiful soul'

A BRITISH schoolgirl, 13, drowned while snorkelling at a theme park in Florida, an inquest heard. Anna Beaumont, from St Fagans, Cardiff, tragically died on a family holiday while swimming at the Discovery Cove theme park in Orlando. The schoolgirl was spotted "floating and unresponsive" in the natural-style pool on May 28 last year. An inquest, held in Pontypridd, heard the teen had been snorkelling with her dad Peter. He left her side to go and see her younger brother but he heard a lifeguard whistle around ten minutes later. Anna was discovered in the water without her snorkel, and with blood and water in her mask. She was rushed to Arnold Palmer Hospital but sadly did not regain consciousness. Coroner Kerrie Burge said Anna died the following day, and a medical cause of death was given as immersion in water. The inquest heard keen rower Anna was a "strong swimmer with no current health concerns." She had previously been diagnosed with childhood absence epilepsy in July 2016 after she was seizure free for three years. The coroner said: "Whilst a small risk of seizures remained, Anna had not experienced any. "There is no evidence to confirm how Anna came to be unresponsive in the water. "She was not seen to have a seizure or to encounter any difficulties and there was no medical evidence of seizure activity during her time in hospital or at post mortem examination." The coroner concluded: "Anna died following immersion in water. "It is not possible to establish, on the balance of probabilities, how Anna came to be in difficulties in the water." 1 is your go-to destination for the best celebrity news, real-life stories, jaw-dropping pictures and must-see video. A SWIMMER in his 20s has died after getting into serious trouble at a popular UK beauty spot. Ezra Tilf was rushed to hospital after being rescued from the Norfolk Broads on Tuesday night before passing away. 2 Emergency services were called to Horstead Mill at around 6.30pm following reports of a young man getting into difficulties in the River Bure. Ezra was pulled from the water as shocked onlookers are believed to have tried to resuscitate him before emergency services arrived. HM Coastguard confirmed rescue teams from Winterton and Bacton attended the scene in Mill Road, alongside Hemsby Inshore Rescue Service. Ezra was taken to hospital but passed away shortly after arriving. His older brother Jacob has now posted a touching tribute on Facebook. It reads: "To anyone who knew my bestest little baby brother he passed away last night. "I never thought I'd ever have to say goodbye Ezra. "So please everyone who is thinking it's fun to go to the rivers always be extra careful please as this could happen to anyone. "Rest in peace brother I f***ing miss and love you." One comment under the Facebook post described Ezra as "lovely' with another saying "he had the purest heart'. Norfolk Police have said the death is not being treated as suspicious. It is believed Ezra got into trouble when he was playing underneath the mill's bridge - a notoriously dangerous and fast-flowing spot.
