The screening took place at the Tudum Theater Wednesday. Theron portrays the formerly immortal being Andromache of Scythia, aka Andy, who seeks to protect humans. The Monster actress, 49, wore a mesh bodysuit underneath a long, navy blue blazer. Thurman, who portrays Andy's longtime rival Discord, wore a long cream-colored dress. Other cast members in attendance include KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzar, Henry Golding and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Matthias Schoenaerts, Veronica Ngo and Luca Marinelli also star. The films take their inspiration from the graphic novels penned by Greg Rucka and illustrated by Leandro Fernandez. Thurman, 55, has also joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection opposite Michael C. Hall and Peter Dinklage. Daisy Edgar-Jones to star in 'Sense and Sensibility' remake

File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo June 26 (UPI) -- Twisters and Normal People actress Daisy Edgar-Jones is set to star in a new big-screen adaptation of Jane Austen's 19th-century novel, Sense and Sensibility. Blue Jean filmmaker Georgia Oakley is directing the film for Focus Features and Working Title, from a script penned by novelist Diana Reid. Edgar-Jones, who will play Elinor, according to The Hollywood Reporter, shared an Instagram photo of her holding up a well-loved-looking paperback copy of the book on Wednesday. The post has already gotten more than 400,000 "likes." Emma Thompson famously played the role in a 1995 adaptation for which she won an Oscar for writing. No other casting for the remake has been announced yet.

Netflix orders Season 2 of 'Ransom Canyon'

File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo June 26 (UPI) -- Netflix announced it has ordered Season 2 of its contemporary western, Ransom Canyon. "Ransom Canyon Season 2? Yee-haw!" Duhamel wrote on Instagram Wednesday. "I couldn't be happier that Netflix is ready to get back in the saddle for Ransom Canyon!" show-runner April Blair said in a press release. "Our dreamy little corner of Texas Hill Country is full of stories still untold, and we can't wait to bring them to our incredible fans. Get ready for another ride." The show is filmed in New Mexico and stars Josh Duhamel, Minka Kelly, James Brolin, Eoin Macken, Lizzy Greene, Andrew Liner, Garrett Wareing, Jack Schumacher, and Marianly Tejada.
