West Ham open talks with ex-Newcastle star Callum Wilson after he turned down pay-as-you-play contract
Wilson, 33, turned down a pay-as-you play deal at Newcastle, who decided against taking up an option to extend his deal this summer.

Newcastle had decided against triggering their one-year option on Wilson which would have kept him on the same wage of about £45,000-a-week.
The ex-England striker has long been admired at the London Stadium and talks are being held over an incentivised contract.
The deal would involve an agreement where a player's wages are directly tied to the number of games they play, rather than a fixed salary.
This type of contract is often offered to players with a history of injuries or those returning from long-term absences.
Wilson scored 47 goals in 113 appearances for the Magpies, but has struggled with back and hamstring injuries during his time with the club.
West Ham released both Danny Ings and Michail Antonio at the end of last season.
Antonio made a return to football with Jamaica following his horror crash in December, but has not agreed a new deal with West Ham.
Wilson has attracted interest from newly-promoted Leeds United and will look to continue his Premier League career.
The former Cherries man has also been looking towards life after football, working as a pundit on the Club World Cup this summer.
Wilson suffered from injury issues at Newcastle but still scored 47 times in 113 Premier League appearances.
Newcastle contract blunder could cost them Isak
2
In the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, Wilson was Newcastle 's top scorer.
He was a late substitute in this year's Carabao Cup final where Newcastle ended their 56-year wait for silverware.

Luis Diaz set for 75m euro move to Bayern Munich as Liverpool accept latest bid
Liverpool have agreed a 75 million euro deal with Bayern Munich for Reds forward Luis Diaz, the PA news agency understands. The agreement comes after the Bundesliga champions were understood to have reopened dialogue regarding a move after having an initial offer of 67.5 million euros (£59m) dismissed last week. Liverpool are currently on their pre-season tour in Asia and Diaz was still with the team when they arrived in Tokyo on Sunday, but now has permission to leave. The 28-year-old has two years left on his original contract and it is understood the Reds accepted the bid for what they consider to be his market value. Diaz joined Liverpool in January 2022 and made 50 appearances in all competitions last season – scoring 17 goals – as he helped the team clinch the Premier League title. His time on Merseyside also saw him lift the FA Cup and two Carabao Cups. Diaz was left out of Liverpool's 4-2 friendly defeat by AC Milan in Hong Kong on Saturday as speculation surrounding his future continued to mount. Speaking post-match, head coach Arne Slot said: 'In Lucho's (Diaz's) situation, there's a lot of rumours around him lately and I cannot go into that. 'He's training really well with us but we have decided for now not to play him yet. 'I'm used to talking to most of my players on a regular basis. I cannot comment much more about that.' Liverpool have been busy in the transfer window so far and have bolstered their attacking options with Florian Wirtz – who made his first start as a false nine on Saturday – and Hugo Ekitike joining the club. There have also been further arrivals on Merseyside, with Jeremie Frimpong, left-back Milos Kerkez and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili all signing and the trio played in the second half of Saturday's friendly.

Inside England captain Leah Williamson's romance with Miss USA winner Elle Smith
England captain Leah Williamson will be leading the Lionesses to hopeful victory in the Women's Euro 2025 finals tonight. Leah's England will take on former rivals Spain in St Jakob-Park in Basel, Switzerland, two years after losing out on their World Cup attempt. All eyes will be on the England team, including 29-year-old team captain Leah, who was permanently appointed to the post by England manager Sarina Wiegman in 2022. But what do we know about Leah's life away from the pitch? Does she have a girlfriend or partner? When not leading her team to victory, Leah has made headlines for her rumoured romance with former Miss USA Elle Smith. Here's all we know about Leah Williamson's relationship with the 27-year-old beauty pageant winner. American journalist and beauty pageant contestant Elle Smith was crowned Miss USA in 2021. In the run-up to the competition, she was named Miss Kentucky USA that same year, making her only the second woman from Kentucky to win Miss USA. She went on to represent the United States at Miss Universe, ultimately finishing in the Top 10, losing out to India's Harnaaz Sandhu. Although they became romantically linked in 2024, Leah and Elle have not officially confirmed whether they are in a relationship. Speculation that the pair were 'soft-launching' a relationship began in March, when Elle posted a video of her and Leah floating in the ocean together on a paddleboard. This came accompanied by the caption 'happy birthday my love x,' to which Leah responded with a series of emojis. Since then, they have continued to pop up all over each other's social media, including a picture of them celebrating England's 6-0 win against Portugal, back in May. In the black-and-white picture, Leah sits on Elle's lap, with the former Miss USA titleholder's arms around her. In response to the picture, Leah commented: 'We did it🥹🥹🥹' Last month, Elle shared a series of snapshots from their holiday to Majorca together – many of which saw the pair looking very loved-up indeed. These images included a snap of Elle and Leah on a paddleboard together, as well as shots of them all dressed up and headed out for dinner. Leah shared her own carousel of images on her Instagram page, too, which included a number of grabs of Elle smiling and contented. Leah also showed her appreciation when Elle shared a series of snaps posing in her Skims bikini while on holiday in Jamaica for her birthday last month. 'I have no words,' Leah wrote in the comments to the post – to which Elle responded: 'all yours.' More Trending She then commented again soon afterwards, writing: 'Just come for a second viewing.' Elle has shared a message of support ahead of tonight's final, posting a snap of herself in a t-shirt to her Instagram Stories. This wasn't any old England t-shirt either. The message emblazoned on the white tee's front in red writing? 'Live, Laugh, Leah.' Got a story?
