Charai 'emerges as favourite' for head coach job after Rangers exit
The former Rangers assistant's contract was mutually terminated following Russell Martin's appointment. Charai could soon be back on the touchline, with Belgian club Westerlo reportedly interested in him. Timmy Simons, appointed last year, is in doubt of his position at Westerlo, and journalist David Van der Broeck claims Charai is the top contender to replace him. "Charai, who joined the club in January to assist Philippe Clement, remained on the coaching staff through Barry Ferguson's spell in charge. "However, following the appointment of Russell Martin as head coach, it has been mutually agreed for Charai to move on with the best wishes of everyone at Rangers."

Celtic 'favourites to sign' Nygren in £1.7m transfer
The Danish SuperLiga club want to sell the 23-year-old attacker, who has just six months left on his contract, to avoid losing him for free. Nygren is believed to be close to choosing Celtic over RSC Anderlecht, FC Copenhagen, and several MLS clubs with the Scottish champions favourites to land a deal. Swedish media outlet Expressen said: "Celtic are currently favourites to sign Nygren and the parties are said to be close to an agreement. "There have also been reports of interest from RSC Anderlecht and FC Copenhagen, but as things stand right now, and as long as the situation doesn't change, Celtic are at the forefront of the process." The Scottish champions were allowed to speak to the Swedish international earlier this week and have agreed personal terms with him. Nygren is reportedly keen on a move to Scotland. He has been a key player for Nordsjælland, scoring 16 goals in all competitions this season. Nygren made his international debut for Sweden earlier this year and has already scored twice in four appearances for his country under Jon Dahl Tomasson. The deal is expected to be finalised soon.

Joining the hardy band of climbers were four men who won titles galore at Rangers. Marvin Andrews, Lee McCulloch, Michael Mols and Kevin Thomson won a combined 29 trophies between them for the Light Blues. The quartet signed up to head up the mountain for the Rangers Charity Foundation, the Ibrox club's charitable arm. Those taking part posed for a group photo at the base of the hill, and video footage later captured fans' favourite Mols keeping the spirits high with a short rendition of Follow Follow. The weather for the hike was a classic Scottish mixture, with some rain, wind and clouds mixed in with a temperature of around 16 degrees. Each participant was asked to raise a minimum of £250 in sponsorship, which will go directly to the foundation. By completing the challenge fans will be invited to a special reception at Ibrox later this year to receive a medal from a current first team star. McCulloch and Thomson were two of the first to reach the top and they were quick to post some pictures from the summit. Ben Nevis is 1,345metres tall and is both the highest mountain in Scotland and the British Isles. One fan said: "Well done folks." Another said: "Brilliant." And a third said: "Smashing." The Rangers Charity Foundation has recently worked with a number of charity organisations in and around Glasgow and across Scotland. A statement from the charity ahead of the climb said: "We are ready to trek to the highest point in the UK, the summit of Ben Nevis whilst raising vital funds for the Rangers Charity Foundation. "The Rangers Charity Foundation exists to be a force for good on behalf of the Rangers Family, showing compassion to those in need, tackling inequalities and creating opportunities for people of all ages to change their lives for the better. "All funds raised through Bears Up Ben Nevis will go towards our comprehensive range of programmes in the community, which reaches thousands of children and adults offering life-changing opportunities in education, health and wellbeing, employability and diversity and inclusion. "You will also be supporting our charity partners! Each season we work with charities to fund projects that have a lasting and significant impact locally, nationally and across the world.
