Al Manar06-04-2025
Two Palestinians were killed and several others were injured on Sunday afternoon in an Israeli artillery strike targeting the town of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip.
According to local medical sources, the two victims were killed and others wounded in an Israeli shelling of the Abed Rabbo area, east of Jabalia.
The latest fatalities bring up the number of Palestinians killed in ongoing Israeli bombardments across Gaza over the past 24 hours to 48, according to medical sources.
An unidentified child martyr was killed in the occupation's bombing of a house in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

At least 26 Palestinians were killed and 113 others were injured in the Gaza Strip over the last 25 hours as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocide in the region, according to medical reports.
Local health authorities confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 2023 has risen to 50,695 documented fatalities, with an additional 115,338 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.
According to the same sources, emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews.
Meanwhile, Al-Quds Brigades announced, 'We destroyed a Zionist military vehicle by detonating a highly explosive device we had previously planted in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.'
Israeli genocidal onslaught continues undeterred despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Israel bets on MAGA influencers to win over US youth

Israel's Foreign Ministry plans to fund a visit for figures aligned with the Make America Great Again (MAGA) and America First movements, according to the Israeli daily Haaretz. These conservative groups represent a key part of President Donald Trump's base. In order to counter what authorities consider a decline in support for Israel among young Americans, the tour will bring together 16 U.S.-based social media personalities under the age of 30, each with several hundred thousand to several million followers. The ultimate goal is to encourage the spread of pro-Israel messages in line with government. The contract has been awarded to the NGO Israel365, which will receive 290,000 shekels (about $86,000). The organization was selected because of its "unique position to advocate a pro-Israel vision close to the MAGA and America First movements." Founded in 2012, Israel365 promotes support for its state on "spiritual, biblical, and political" grounds. Its website states that it "unequivocally defends the divine right of the Jewish people to all of the land of Israel." The two-state solution is described there as a "delusion." The NGO says its mission is to "protect Western civilization against the dual threat of left-wing extremism and global jihad." According to Haaretz, ties between Israel365 and the MAGA movement have only grown stronger since the Hamas attacks in October 2023. This project is expected to mark a major turning point in the way the Israeli state communicates with the American public, according to the daily. The objective is now to reverse the trend and leverage the huge audiences of young influencers to bolster Israel's image in the United States. "While older Republicans remain supportive of Israel, positive views of Israel are declining across all younger age groups," sources from the Foreign Affairs Ministry told Haaretz. These officials acknowledge the effectiveness and impact of influencers on young people, stating that "their networks are immensely successful and their messages are more effective than if they came directly from the ministry." A strategy that has already proven successful during the recent 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran in June. Pro-Israel messages were viewed 1.8 billion times online, thanks in particular to social media influencers who have millions of followers. The Foreign Affairs Ministry has set a goal of bringing 550 delegations of influencers to Israel by the end of 2025 to continue this work.

Death toll from violence in Sweida rises to more than 1,260

The violence in Syria's Sweida province (south) has left more than 1,260 dead before a cease-fire took effect Sunday, according to an updated toll published Monday by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). The NGO said it has documented new deaths that occurred before the truce began. Among the dead are 505 Druze fighters and 298 Druze civilians, including 194 who were "summarily executed by members of the Defense and Interior Ministries." The toll also includes 408 members of government security forces and 35 Sunni Bedouins, including three civilians "summarily executed by Druze fighters." Fifteen government soldiers were also killed in Israeli strikes, according to SOHR.

Pope speaks against forced mass displacement of civilians

Pope Leo, whose role in advocating for peace in Gaza has become notably stark since Israel struck the territory's only Catholic church last week, told Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday that he opposed any forced displacement of Palestinians. The Vatican said Abbas, who leads the internationally recognised Palestinian Authority, had phoned the pope on Monday, three days after Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called and expressed regret over the strike on Gaza's Holy Family church. Israel has said the strike, which killed three people and wounded the church's parish priest, was a mistake. The small church in Gaza has been a focus of papal advocacy for peace throughout the war in the territory. Pope Leo's predecessor Pope Francis spoke to the parish nightly. In Monday's conversation with Abbas, Leo condemned the "indiscriminate use of force" and any "forced mass displacement" of people in the Gaza Strip, the Vatican said. Israel has said it wants Gazans to move to a special humanitarian zone in Gaza or leave the territory voluntarily. All mainstream Palestinian groups and neighbouring Arab states have rejected any plan that would displace them. In emotional remarks on Sunday after his weekly Angelus prayer, Leo read out the names of those killed at the church in Gaza and called for an end to the "barbarity of war".
