But some are now accusing the American star, 35, of copying iconic pop queen Kylie Minogue 's Showgirl: The Greatest Hits era.
The Aussie icon commenced her Showgirl world tour in 2005 with performances in Europe before travelling to her native Melbourne, where she was diagnosed with breast cancer, causing her to postpone the remaining dates.
Several fans flocked to social media to claim Taylor ripped off Kylie's showgirl look by posing in feathers and a gem-encrusted outfit.
'Kylie is the one and only showgirl! No shade to Taylor but Kylie is the ultimate,' one person wrote on Instagram.
'There's only one Showgirl and that's Kylie!!' another commented while a third person agreed: 'There is only one Showgirl and that's our Kylie.'
'Queen of the Showgirls,' one person wrote as another added: 'The OG showgirl. Still showing the girls how to do it.'
Despite some backlash, others rushed to Taylor's defence and insisted that more than one showgirl can exist.
'So is 'showgirl' only reserved for Kylie or what? Don't get me wrong as I am a fan of both Kylie and Taylor... Was just wondering,' one commented.
'These comments dragging Taylor are exhausting. Kylie is one of my faves but how about we stop pitting women against each other?' a second said.
'Kylie and Taylor should do a collab,' another suggested.
It comes after Taylor unveiled first-look images of her jaw-dropping upcoming album artwork to accompany her new record, The Life Of A Showgirl.
The 14-time Grammy Award-winning singer, 35, looked nothing short of sensational in a skimpy feathered outfits, which were shared alongside the album announcement.
Taylor first dropped the news about her 12th studio album earlier this week while teasing her upcoming appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast.
On Wednesday, just as her New Heights episode premiered, the Red singer revealed the official album cover for The Life Of A Showgirl.
She confirmed that the album will be released on October 3 — just over a year and a half after the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.
In the new album artwork, Taylor sizzled in racy gem-encrusted outfits fit for the stage as she posed in a theatre.
Keeping in the showgirl theme, Taylor wore a huge 1920s-themed feathered headpiece and dazzling bodysuit as she gazed away from the camera.

As per the police report, Tarek's adversary allegedly went for the star's legs in an attempt to take him down. But Tarek allegedly proceeded to knee the man to the floor. The police then claimed that Tarek 'mounted the man's back and pummeled him with three blows to the head.' The police said that the alleged victim's account of the fight with Tarek differed slightly from what they had viewed on the hotel's surveillance footage. According to cops, the man claimed he was 'aggressively approached' by Tarek at the roulette table before allegedly being 'assaulted' by him. The man insisted he was trying to defend himself. Tarek was also interviewed by police. He insisted that he only confronted the man to 'protect his Dad due to him having back problem.' However, Tarek stopped speaking with cops after his Miranda rights were read, according to TMZ. In a statement to the outlet at the time, Tarek's attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld said: 'Tarek intends to contest these allegations in a court of law where he will assert his right to self-defense and the defense of his elderly and infirmed father.'

The Memory Blocks review – playful and purposeful exploration of developmental disorders
Artist and film-maker Andrew Kötting returns to the themes of consciousness and memory (both individual and collective) in this playful and ruminative docu-essay, in which he is again working with his daughter Eden; she is at once his subject and his collaborator. Eden was born in 1988 with the genetic disorder Joubert syndrome; she draws and paints and often appears in Kötting's films. I have in the past wondered aloud if Kötting might tackle the challenges of being with Eden more straightforwardly. But perhaps that was obtuse of me; it could be that it is only this complex, layered, tonally elusive approach which refuses the conventional grammar of clinical concern does justice to the idea of seeing the world as Eden sees it. The film has Eden dressed in a blue gingham pinafore dress of the kind associated with Alice in Wonderland (and therefore, perhaps, associating her with the idea of a journey or pilgrimage which is often a trope in Kötting's films). She is in a group alongside other adults with learning-development issues and on the shop floor of a factory where they are pretending that they are producing 'memory blocks' with machine tools and 3D printers: hollowed-out metal blocks which are the containers or constituent elements of memory. They participate in the fiction that these blocks will stimulate consciousness and send them back in time to happy memories; 3D animated images of nuts and bolts float across the screen. They are a happy supportive group with a genial relationship with Kötting, whose voice can be heard off-camera. At one point he asks them where they would like to travel; one woman says Prague, Eden says France (a place of happy memories) and another man says Locarno in Switzerland, because he likes Von Kleist's ghost story The Beggar Woman of Locarno. Eden is also shown walking in huge landscapes, alone with her walking frame, or with her friends, or with others in fancy dress and costumes. These unselfconscious performances or enactments might be bringing us close to an understanding of what Eden thinks and feels – but maybe that isn't the point and perhaps Eden, or those close to her, have no great need for this kind of insight and the object is more a kind of quietist harmony. Either way, the calmly purposeful originality of Kötting's work is valuable. The Memory Blocks screened at the Edinburgh film festival.
