Rapper Jay Z is betting big this NBA season and it's not Tyrese Haliburton who is currently the talk of the world for his game-winning shot that made the Indiana Pacers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Jay Z has placed a bet of a whopping $1 million on the Oklahoma City Thunder, which lost Game 1 of the NBA Finals. He has bet on the Thunder to win the NBA Championship in a total of five games, to be precise.
All about Jay Z's bet for NBA Finals
According to TMZ.com, Jay-Z has bet $1 million with good friend Michael Rubin's Fanatics Sportsbook. If the rapper is able to win the bet, he will reap a profit of $2.3 million while walking away with a total prize money of $3.3 million.
As the news was shared on X, many refused to believe it, whereas many wondered at how rich the rapper was. Reacting to the news, an X user wrote, 'Already lost.' Another said, 'But how much is Drake betting and on what? that's the real question.' Questioning the entire information, an X user wrote, 'This is so corny . Using Jay Z to influence others to place bets. Meanwhile he's probably using fanatics sponsored funds smh.
'
An X user reacted to Jay Z's betting, 'Imagine being so rich betting a cool mil is like me betting a penny.' Another said, 'And I was sweating my $15 bet last night…. Oooookayyy.' One more commented, 'FAKE. I can't bet more than $5.'
A comment also read: 'I have never understood rich people betting - unless just for fun. I can understand betting on a team to win, but to do so specifically in 5 games seems ridiculous. I would get much more satisfaction from randomly giving away $100,000.00 to 10 (or $10,000.00 to 100) needy people.'
Another read: 'Still waiting to get into your vip program that I opted into …smh.'

'2006, The rules changed' — The secret behind Brad Marchand's playoff success, as per HC Paul Maurice
2006 NHL rule change helping Brad Marchand defy age and dominate playoffs (Image via: Getty Images) At 37, most NHL players are preparing for retirement. Brad Marchand, however, is leading a Stanley Cup Final charge with the energy and precision of a man ten years younger. His clutch Game 2 double-overtime shorthanded goal for the Florida Panthers wasn't just a highlight, it sparked a conversation about longevity in today's NHL. And Panthers head coach Paul Maurice may have just given fans the reason why. A rule that changed the game and extended careers In his post-game comments, Paul Maurice pointed to a pivotal moment in hockey history: the 2006 NHL rule changes implemented after the season-long lockout. 'These men now that have come into the league, probably post-2000… The fitness level, the sports science that goes into it is just completely different than when I started,' Maurice said. But then came the bombshell: '2006, the rules changed. So, younger, skilled players could play early. ' Prior to 2006, offensive passes that crossed both the defensive blue line and the red line were illegal unless touched. The rule made for slower, grittier, and more physically taxing hockey, often shortening careers. But once scrapped, the game opened up. Speed and skill began to take precedence over brute force. And veterans like Marchand adapted and thrived. "[Brad Marchand] is a unique human." | Paul Maurice SCF Game 2 Reaction | 6.6.25 Brad Marchand isn't just surviving in this faster NHL, he's dominating it. With 17 playoff points so far, including seven goals, he's tied with Florida stars Aleksander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk. More impressively, Marchand is proving invaluable in clutch moments, becoming a postseason standout despite his age. After a rollercoaster final season in Boston, contract standoffs, and a controversial trade to divisional rivals Florida, it seemed like Marchand might fade into the background. Instead, he's become a central figure in Florida's playoff run. A combination of rule changes, advanced training, and a shift in how the NHL is played has created an environment where experience can now be an asset, not a liability. Also Read: Sergei Bobrovsky becomes first goalie in NHL history with back-to-back 40-save games; proof that Flyers gave up too soon Marchand's resurgence isn't just a personal comeback. It may be a sign that the NHL's modern era isn't just built for youth but for veterans who've learned how to adapt. As Paul Maurice put it best, 'He is truly a unique human… He's a beauty.'

Image credit: Draymond Green/Instagram Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green's latest revelation about his mom confirms that Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton's dad is not the only one to have embarrassed him in a houseful stadium during a match. Green has revealed his mom, Mary Babers-Green, not just criticizes the opponent team but also his team—and the one who faces her extreme wrath is Green himself. Draymond Green on his mother's trash-talking habit During his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Draymond Green revealed, "My mom, since I was a child, has been the mom who, like, from the stands, she yells, 'You suck!' But the thing about my mom is she talks bad about all the players on my team. She kills them. But she absolutely annihilates me.' He also gave examples of how his mom would snap at others' kids, but they wouldn't mind her words upon realizing how she treats her own kid in public. 'I've always heard the stories where in the beginning a parent would almost want to get snappy at her and as they continue to watch, they realize how badly she talks about me. They're just like, 'Oh, that's not a problem what she's saying about my kid,'" he said. Draymond Green on Mavs Trading Luka to the Lakers, His Mom Talking Trash & Guarding Wembanyama Giving another example of how she would get upset when he would object to her, Green revealed, 'When I was younger I could always hear it because the gyms were smaller, and I used to sometimes turn around and be like, 'Ma, stop!' She wouldn't talk to me for days after I did that. She'd be mad at me as if I did something wrong.' Green often finds himself in controversy over his verbal remarks. Before the Golden State Warriors were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, Draymond Green was fined $50,000 by the NBA after a video showed him "making an inappropriate comment that questions the integrity of game officials."
