Beyonce and Jay-Z to COMPETE against each other for an Emmy after Grammys controversy
Beyonce and husband Jay-Z are set to go head-to-head as they compete for an Emmy after receiving nominations in the same category. The A-list couple - who tied the knot in 2008 - garnered nods for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) as the nominees were officially announced on Tuesday ahead of the 77th Emmy Awards on September 14. The Crazy In Love songstress, 43, was nominated for her NFL Halftime Show called the Beyonce Bowl which aired on Netflix on Christmas Day. And the Empire State Of Mind rapper landed a spot in the same category for being an executive producer for Kendrick Lamar 's Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in February. It comes one year after Jay-Z called out the Recording Academy over his wife not winning Album of the Year, despite having 'more Grammys than everyone.' Beyonce also received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for her Beyonce Bowl. Her halftime performance aired live on Netflix on Christmas Day as the Houston Texans took on the Baltimore Ravens. The beauty belted out tunes from her Cowboy Carter album - and at one point was also joined by her eldest child Blue Ivy. The Beyonce Bowl broke a number of records, and became the most-watched NFL game since 2001. During her performance alone, 27 million viewers tuned in to watch and 10 days afterwards, it was revealed that an additional 50 million viewers watched the special on the streaming site. Her halftime show was also released on Netflix as a stand-alone special two days later - which spanned over the course of around 20 minutes. Jay-Z was also one of the executive producers for the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show which Kendrick Lamar headlined earlier this year in February. The anticipated match took place in New Orleans and saw the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs. The halftime show also broke records and became the most-watched with 133.5 million viewers, per Billboard. The record had been announced by Apple Music, NFL and also Roc Nation only days after the game. Over on Instagram, the companies issued a statement which read: 'We've broken the record again! The most watched Apple Music Halftime show EVER, with 133.5 Million viewers.' Beyonce Bowl also received Emmy nominations for Outstanding Production Design and Outstanding Choreography. Kendrick Lamar's halftime show also garnered nods for Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Music Production and Outstanding Choreography. Beyonce and Jay-Z competing for the same award comes a little over one year since the rapper called out the Grammys over his wife not winning Album of the Year. He made the public comment to the crowd as he accepted the 2024 Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. At one point, the performer expressed: 'I'm just saying we want you to get it right. We love y'all. We want you to get it right, at least get it close to right. 'And obviously it's subjective - you don't have to clap at everything - because it's music and it's opinion-based.' Jay-Z then added, 'I don't want to embarrass this young lady but she has more Grammys than anyone and never won Album of the Year so even by your own metrics that doesn't work. 'Think about that. The most Grammys, never won Album of the Year. That doesn't work. 'Some of you going to go home tonight and think you've been robbed. Some of you may get robbed, some of you don't belong in the category. When I get nervous, I tell the truth. He then shared, 'But outside of that, we got to keep showing up - and forget the Grammys for a second, just in life.' Beyonce had notably been sitting in the audience during her husband's speech and held an apprehensive expression on her face. However, earlier this year in February during the 2025 Grammy Awards, the songstress finally scored her first Album of the Year win for Cowboy Carter. The 77th Annual Emmy Awards are to set to take place in Los Angeles on September 14 - with Nick Bargatze taking on hosting duties. Beyonce has been keeping busy as she is currently embarking on her Cowboy Carter Tour. The star recently made a major change to her Cowboy Carter tour just weeks after the singer was left hanging midair during a terrifying stunt. She took to the stage in Atlanta last week on Thursday where she debuted a mechanical gold horse which she rode inside the Mercedes- Benz Stadium. Up until last month, she had ridden on a red Cadillac convertible which would suspend over the crowd - but the prop began to suddenly tilt amid her June 28 concert in Houston which caused the singer to abruptly stop the show. However, Beyonce has since made the slight alteration to her tour last week with the flying gold horse. She notably sits on the prop as it soars through the air while belting out her country track 16 Carriages. It is not the first time that the songstress has used a horse as a prop while performing on stage. Back in 2023 during her Renaissance Tour, Beyonce used a sparkling silver horse - which mimicked her Renaissance album cover. The songstress kicked off her Cowboy Carter Tour earlier this year in April - and is in support of her eighth studio album of the same name which was released in 2024. She performed two additional dates in Atlanta on Sunday, July 13 and the following Monday on July 14. The Crazy In Love hitmaker will travel to Las Vegas later this month where the tour will conclude on July 26 at Allegiant Stadium. It was also reported that Beyonce's unreleased music was stolen during her Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta on July 8. The incident occurred when a suspect stole a hard drive containing the unleased music from a motor vehicle - and an arrest warrant his since been issued.

Beyoncé's Unreleased Music Stolen In Atlanta
Hard drives containing unreleased music by Beyoncé and plans for her Cowboy Carter tour were stolen in Atlanta earlier this month, according to local police, who say an unnamed suspect remains missing. An arrest warrant has been issued for an unnamed suspect. CBS via Getty Images Christopher Grant and Diandre Blue, who claimed to be a choreographer and dancer for Beyoncé, respectively, said hard drives for Beyoncé's 'Cowboy Carter' tour were stolen from their vehicle on July 8, which contained unreleased music, footage plans for the show and set lists, according to an incident report filed by the Atlanta Police Department. Other items taken from their vehicle include two suitcases, laptops and a pair of AirPods police said were tracked to a nearby area where a 'suspicious person stop' was conducted, according to the report. Police found two 'very light' fingerprints on the scene and said cameras in the area near the vehicle captured the incident. The Atlanta Police Department said in a statement an arrest warrant was issued for an unnamed suspect.
