Kentucky lawmaker, among dozens targeted by social media stalker, plans to explore consent legislation
LEITCHFIELD, Ky. (FOX 56) — Dozens of women in Grayson County have found themselves victims of online stalking, leading Kentucky State Police to make an arrest. Now, one victim, a state lawmaker, is hoping to turn the incident into action.
'If I could talk to these young women, I want to say, first off, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm so sorry that you were personally violated in this way. This is unacceptable behavior. And what we're doing is we're standing up to it,' Rep. Samara Heavrin (R-Leitchfield) told FOX 56 News.
Kentucky man accused of posting over 18K images of unknowing women, girls to porn site
Heavrin said she was heartbroken not just for the violation she felt, but for the friends and neighbors she's known for years who found themselves unexpected victims in an uncomfortable situation.
'A friend had texted me a Facebook post and said, 'Hey, you might want to check to see if you're on here.' Heavrin explained. 'These weren't bad photos. Most of the girls were clothed. These were just everyday photos taken. You know, my Christmas card photos got on there. People's senior pictures got put on there.'
On Monday, Kentucky State Police arrested 29-year-old Zackery Robinson on 27 counts of stalking. The complaint alleges Robinson took photos from victims' social media and posted them to a pornographic site.

The complaint said more than 18,000 photos of adult women and underage girls were posted, and a large majority of the posts are of Grayson County residents. And while the content of the photos may not be explicit, comments on the site are.
'A young lady, her senior picture is on there. Somebody under a disguised name commented and said they would like to take her deep into the woods with chloroform. That is unacceptable. And these people have to be held accountable,' Heavrin said.
Heavrin plans to use the time between now and the next session to explore how laws can be strengthened around voyeurism and consent, as well as revisiting any loopholes in a pornographic age verification law passed last year in House Bill 278.

'If you want to post a photo on an explicit website, you should have the consent to be able to do that. Someone else shouldn't make that decision for you,' Heavrin said.

A climber was taken to the hospital after getting impaled while rappelling down a mountain, Utah officials said. On Sunday, June 8, the 40-year-old man was rappelling in the Three Falls area near Alpine when he was impaled by a stick, according to a Facebook post from the Utah County Sheriff's Office. Missing Mississippi woman found after held captive, abused, for 3 weeks, authorities say
Authorities said a man was arrested in Mississippi after law enforcement said they discovered a missing woman at his home, where she had been held captive and abused for nearly three weeks. The Smith County Sheriff's Office worked in a joint operation with the Rankin County Sheriff's Office to investigate the case, as announced via two Facebook posts by both agencies on Monday, June 9. The Smith County Sheriff's Office said deputies received a call on May 12 from a "concerned mother" who was unable to reach her adult daughter in several weeks. The office said the mother "feared for her daughter's safety" and contacted authorities to report her daughter missing. Smith County investigators coordinated with Rankin County investigators, believing the missing woman was located at a home on Holly Bush Road in Rankin County. Deputies responded to the scene and confirmed the location of the missing woman. "During an on-scene investigation at the residence, deputies observed physical injuries to the missing female and facilitated her transport to a local hospital for treatment. An interview conducted with the female victim revealed that she had been held against her will at the residence for three (3) weeks while enduring near daily abuse," both agencies wrote in their posts. According to authorities, an examination conducted at the hospital showed the woman sustained "multiple broken bones in her face," along with "multiple contusions and lacerations on her body." Gilbert faces charges of aggravated assault and capital kidnapping. Gilbert is currently being held on a $600,000 bond at the Rankin County Detention Center. Fort Myers man accused of homicide also fired into several occupied apartments, police say
Authorities have released new details about a Fort Myers homicide, revealing that the suspected killer fired into several occupied apartments June 8. Yanko Romero, 41, of Fort Myers, faces charges of shooting into a building; aggravated assault; second-degree murder; and tampering with evidence. Shortly before 8:50 a.m. June 8, Fort Myers Police officers responded to reports of gunfire at 3000 Oasis Grand Blvd. — the address of the Oasis waterfront high-rise condo tower off Palm Beach Boulevard, east of downtown Fort Myers. The site is along the Caloosahatchee River. Guilty verdict: Lehigh Acres man convicted of fatal drug sale; co-defendant awaits trial When officers arrived at a nearby parking lot, they found a 25-year-old man, who suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite first responders' efforts, the victim died on scene. The victim's identity remained unreleased by publication. Authorities said Romero and the victim did not know each other. Police said additional officers responded near the WINK News building after they received information that witnesses saw Romero nearby. Authorities said that prior to his arrest, Romero was observed discarding a firearm into pond. Officers, during a search of a bag in his possession, found a loaded ammunition magazine and a box containing more rounds.
