Havili, Salakaia-Loto to lead Australia-New Zealand against Lions
David Havili and Lukhan Salakaia-Loto were on Thursday named co-captains of a "powerful" Australia-New Zealand combined side stacked with All Blacks and Wallabies to face the British and Irish Lions in Adelaide.
Coach Les Kiss picked 17 internationals in his matchday 23 for Saturday's final warm-up game for the Lions before they face Australia in the opening Test on July 19 in Brisbane.

Head coach Andy Farrell's side are unbeaten in four matches in Australia after wins over four Super Rugby sides, including 36-24 against ACT Brumbies on Wednesday in Canberra.
The Australia-New Zealand side, the first time the powerhouses have joined forces since 1989, could provide the Lions with their biggest test so far.
Every player in the starting XV has international caps, with Salakaia-Loto part of a Queensland Reds-heavy tight five alongside Aidan Ross, Jeffrey Toomaga-Allen and Angus Blyth.
Former Bordeaux flanker Pete Samu starts at flanker, with All Blacks Shannon Frizell and Hoskins Sotutu completing the forward pack.

Havili, who recently led the Canterbury Crusaders to the Super Rugby title, is at inside centre alongside former All Blacks centre Ngani Laumape.
Shaun Stevenson will start at fullback.
"After speaking with all the players we thought the co-captaincy model with natural leaders like David and Lukhan would really suit this team and what we represent," said Kiss, who will succeed Joe Schmidt as Wallabies coach next year and is being assisted by former All Blacks head coach Ian Foster.
"This week has been building nicely and the boys have put a lot of time into getting to know each other.

"In forming new bonds, many of them have discovered they have more in common than they originally thought.
"We have named an experienced, powerful starting side for Saturday and we know our bench will make an impact when they get their opportunity."

It was the type of start the Lions have been striving for all tour and they surged 17-0 clear after 20 minutes when Van der Merwe grabbed his second, finishing a flowing move that split the defence. The home side needed to begin the second half well but were rocked by a Lions try in the opening minutes when Tuipulotu hit the line to perfection after a tap and go from White. With a 24-0 lead, it was all over bar Farrell's cameo and there were further tries from lock Scott Cummings, Van der Merwe, hooker Ronan Kelleher and Pollock.

British and Irish Lions improve to 5-0 on Australian tour with 48-0 win ahead of 1st test
ADELAIDE, Australia (AP) — The British and Irish Lions used their final tour match ahead of the first test against the Wallabies to overwhelm an Australia and New Zealand combined side 48-0 on Saturday. The Lions led 17-0 at halftime and poured on the tries in the second half before 43,124 fans, a record for rugby in the Australian rules-mad state of South Australia. Advertisement Scotland's Duhan van der Merwe scored two of his three tries in an early 13-minute span as the Lions won for the fifth time in five matches on their Australian tour. Controversial mid-tour replacement Owen Farrell came off the reserves bench in the 50th minute to a smattering of jeers. Farrell hasn't played international rugby since the 2023 World Cup and had played no rugby in nine weeks and only 18 minutes in the last 10 weeks. The former England captain replaced the injured Elliot Daly to make it onto his fourth Lions tour. In the 36th minute, England hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie was knocked out after attempting a tackle and was taken off the field by stretcher. 'It was unfortunate. It was a concussion,' Farrell said. "It looks like we'll have to bring someone in but we'll speak to the medics.'
