Susanna Reid tells Richard Madeley 'I'm concerned we'll lose you'

Daily Mirrora day ago

Good Morning Britain presenter, Susanna Reid, told co-host, Richard Madeley, she was worried about him after he appeared in the studio wearing a wrist brace
Susanna Reid expressed concern for her Good Morning Britain co-host, Richard Madeley, today, telling the 69-year-old she was worried she was going to 'lose him'. The former This Morning star sparked concern when he arrived in the studio wearing a wrist brace after revealing he'd suffered a nasty fall on holiday in France.
Richard, who is one of the nation's most recognisable presenters, was also struggling to talk when the ITV show started as Susanna, 54, told the dad-of-two: "I'm a bit concerned we might lose you through the programme..." Pointing at his throat, croaky-voiced, Richard replied: "This thing? I think it'll get stronger throughout the programme. That's my prediction."

Later in the show, Richard revealed he had been given honey and water to soothe his throat, and reassured viewers that he would be back to full strength by the next day.
"If it's annoying you, I'm really sorry. Tomorrow it'll be better," he promised.
However, his health sparked a flurry of concerned comments on X (formerly Twitter), with many questioning the decision to let Richard host despite his vocal struggles.
One viewer asked: "Why on earth have you let Richard take the chair today when he can hardly talk?"
Another said: "Richard Madeley sounds like Daddy Pig this morning," while a third commented: "Richard's ill, should have replaced him today."
Richard, who has presented GMB since 2017, was also forced to explain his painful looking wrist, which was supported by a brace. Clocking his new accessory, Susanna said: 'Richard, you better explain – that looks sore."

The veteran presenter, who is married to former This Morning co-host, Judy Finnigan, and who has just come back from a trip away to France, unfortunately didn't have the best time in Europe as he revealed he fell down a steep pavement while away on his trip.
Explaining the unfortunate events to his co-host, Richard revealed he had a double fracture of the wrist, explaining: "I was walking quite quickly down a steep pavement in France, actually, on Friday.
'The pavement was loose and it flipped up and it flipped me forward, and I thought, 'Am I gonna win or is gravity gonna win?' And gravity won, and I hit the ground hard. So yeah, I've got a double fracture and we'll see how it goes."

It seems like the injury was painful for the star, who continued: 'I'm not discussing the pain threshold. We don't think about pain.'
Changing the subject, Susanna continued: "Okay, we're just going to distract ourselves. It's good to have you back."
"It's nice to be back," Richard replied, as Susanna smiled, warmly.

Love Island star sparks concern with his appearance after shock betrayal – did you spot it?

A LOVE Islander sparked concern among fans with his appearance after his shock villa betrayal. Harry rattled fans of the ITV2 dating series after his controversial antics in the Love Island villa less than three days into the series. 3 But it seemed that he could have rattled himself after fans were left convinced he'd been crying after his bed-swapping antics were exposed. In the episode, Harry could be seen cuddled up with Shakira in bed but soon attempted to sneak away as he headed to the Hideaway with Helena. They then got very cosy as they kissed and cuddled the night away - with some fans even convinced they had sex. But when Harry was forced to speak to Sharkia about his antics, many fans thought he appeared as though he had been left in tears. Whilst he kept his eyed hidden by sunglasses during the chat whilst in the garden, when he was in the beach hut, he appeared to be sporting very red eyes. It was a stark resemblance to someone who could have just been crying. Writing online, one fan said: "Harry looks like he's been crying lol. I'd be crying if I lost Shakira too." A third added: "Why's Harry crying?" As a fourth wrote: "Harry looks like he's been crying lol. I'd be crying if I lost Shakira too." Charles joined by David Beckham and Meryl Streep to celebrate award winners

Charles met David Beckham, Stanley Tucci and Penny Lancaster, all King's Foundation ambassadors, alongside friends of the charitable body, Hollywood stars Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep, at the St James's Palace awards ceremony. Prizes including Young Entrepreneur and Advocate of the Year were presented by the celebrities including the King Charles III Harmony Award, recognising a long-term commitment to the foundation's mission of creating a world where people, places and the planet can live in harmony. Charles met his foundation's famous supporters and award winners before touring stands showcasing the charity's work, and Winslet smiled as she told him: 'Don't worry, I'll be all in – I've got your back.' Celebrity chef Raymond Blanc hailed the King for his campaigning over the decades on issues like communities, sustainability and traditional crafts that underpin the foundation, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary. His ITV series Raymond Blanc's Royal Kitchen Gardens took him to palaces like Hampton Court and Hillsborough, as well as Highgrove House and the Castle of Mey – places Charles calls home. Blanc, a foundation ambassador, said after meeting Charles: 'I think what the King has done is extraordinary. He's done it for many, many years – from the 1970s, about the same time I arrived in England – and my values are his values. 'There's a deep belief in connecting human beings with communities, with agriculture, with sustainability, management of waste, management of energy, and he has done it for the last 45, 50 years.' Speaking about filming at the King's Scottish retreat, the Castle of Mey, which once belonged to his grandmother the Queen Mother, Blanc added: 'I really believe he got all his values seeing his grandma in this beautiful space. 'So natural, close to the sea, at the tip of Scotland where there was such a reservoir of natural things.' Blanc's words were echoed by Penny Lancaster who praised the monarch for creating the awards and highlighting the needs of the planet throughout his adult life. She added: 'The King may have been accused of hugging trees and people thinking he was mad when he started talking about the environment all that time ago, but he was at the forefront then and now has been proved right with everything he said and now we're all just trying to play catch up. 'I really recognise the beauty in the way he is trying to get us on board with his knowledge and if we can pass that on to the younger generation, and save some of the traditional skills like we've seen with these winners today, we can all be a part of making a difference.' The King's Foundation, previously known as The Prince's Foundation following an amalgamation of Charles' charities which stretch back to 1990, aims to 'advocate for the change His Majesty wants to see in the world'. The Emerging Talent prize was presented by Beckham, the former England football captain rumoured to be knighted soon, to Emily Hurst who has shown exceptional talent and commitment while on a King's Foundation programme. She recently completed the Chanel and King's Foundation Metiers d'Art Fellowship in Millinery, based at Highgrove Gardens after she had become fascinated with the heritage craft of straw braiding and began learning to produce hats from the material. She said: 'Working at Highgrove was absolutely the best place to be, surrounded by so much inspiration from His Majesty's garden and learning from some of the best milliners with country, I'm so incredibly honoured.'
