Janmashtami this year is special; I have a little Krishna: Harshika Poonacha
Harshika Poonacha
, Janmashtami has always been more than just a festival; it's a collection of childhood memories, colourful traditions, and now, a joyous occasion for her and her husband Bhuvann Ponnannaa to make new memories with their daughter, Tridevi Ponnakkaah.
'I remember when I was a child, my mother loved dressing me up. In school plays, I was often Radha, though sometimes one of the boys would get to be Krishna. Every year brought a new Krishna, a new Radha, and a lot of dancing. Those memories have stayed with me… and now I get to carry forward those traditions,' she smiles. Over the years, Harshika has also found inspiration in Krishna's teachings. 'The lines from the Bhagavad Gita are answers to so many of life's problems. During my pregnancy, I read a chapter every day. It gave me strength, especially during difficult times, and even when I went into labour, my father-in-law recited shlokas to encourage me.' '
JANMASHTAMI IS A FESTIVAL THAT'S VERY CLOSE TO MY HEART'
This year's Janmashtami is something Harshika's been looking forward to, as it is the first with her nine-month-old daughter. 'I always imagined dressing her as Krishna, in the dhoti, pearls, and tiny accessories. She looks so adorable,' she says with a laugh. Today, Harshika's Janmashtami celebrations at home will be simple. 'I'm going to invite the neighbourhood kids, share sweets, and let Tridevi enjoy their company.
She has just started crawling, and I want to capture those little moments of her looking at older kids and wondering how they move so fast. It

Salman Khan was given this task at Rishi and Neetu Kapoor's daughter Riddhima's wedding
Salman Khan's generous nature shone at Riddhima Kapoor Sahni's wedding, where he volunteered as a bartender. However, his celebrity presence caused a humorous situation as guests repeatedly visited the bar not for drinks, but to be served by him. Eventually, Rishi Kapoor had to intervene to manage the alcohol stock and restore order, showcasing their strong bond despite limited collaborations. Salman Khan , widely recognized as one of Indian cinema's biggest superstars, is equally admired for his generous nature and warm-hearted personality. Renowned for his kindness, Salman has often surprised his friends and family with his thoughtful gestures. A charming incident was shared by Neetu Kapoor while she was on The Kapil Sharma Show with Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. During the conversation, Kapil Sharma asked the family if it was true that Salman Khan had once taken on the role of a bartender at Riddhima Kapoor Sahni's wedding, the daughter of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor. To everyone's delight and amusement, all three nodded enthusiastically, confirming the story. Neetu Kapoor then opened up about the entire episode. She recounted how Salman had offered to manage the bar himself during the wedding celebrations, and she agreed wholeheartedly. However, the situation soon took a humorous turn. A waiter approached Rishi Kapoor with a concern that the alcohol stock was depleting unusually fast, despite the fact that large quantities had been ordered and stocked for the occasion. Rishi's curiosity was piqued, and upon investigation, it was discovered that guests were not actually drinking much. Instead, they were discarding their drinks and heading back to the bar repeatedly not because they wanted more liquor, but because of Salman Khan's presence behind the bar. The guests were eager to meet him personally and be served by the superstar himself, turning the bar into an unexpected hotspot of excitement and celebrity fascination. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Most Beautiful Female Athletes Right Now Undo This amusing and endearing scene led Rishi Kapoor to eventually step in and gently ask Salman to step away from the bar to restore order and prevent further depletion of the alcohol supplies.
