Cover revealed for Sir Paul McCartney's upcoming Wings book
Based on dozens of hours of interviews with Sir Paul, Wings: The Story Of A Band On The Run, edited by American historian Edward 'Ted' Widmer, details the journey of the band, from its inception to the group's dissolution in 1981.
Following his success with The Beatles, the Liverpool-born musician co-founded Wings in 1971, with his late wife Linda one of the members.
A picture, taken by Linda in Spain in 1972, and which is to be used as the book cover, shows her alongside Sir Paul, and former band members Denny Laine, Henry McCullough and Denny Seiwell.
Sir Paul, 82, has written a foreword for the book, which is being published in November, and says: 'Suddenly Wings has found its moment. We have a generational shift at work, and it's like being transported back on a magic carpet.
'Working on the book has awakened so many beautiful memories of our times back then.'
The book is compiled from hours of new and historical interviews, as well as newly discovered and previously unheard interviews from Sir Paul's personal archive.
It features more than 150 photographs, some unseen, capturing the band through the years and which were taken by Sir Paul, Linda, Sir Paul's younger brother Mike, and photographers Clive Arrowsmith, Henry Diltz and Robert Ellis.
The book will also feature some of Sir Paul's diary entries from the time and handwritten lyrics.
Singer and songwriter Sir Paul has had a career spanning more than six decades as one of the most famous stars the UK music industry has produced.
In July 1971, Sir Paul and Linda teamed up with The Moody Blues' Laine and drummer Seiwell to start working on a Wings debut album.
Titled Wild Life, it took just two weeks, according to Sir Paul's official website, with opening track Mumbo recorded in one take.
The next year, in 1972, Sir Paul embarked on a Wings tour with the University of Nottingham the first venue on February 9.
That same year, Wings performed a concert tour of Europe, notable for the eye-catching double-decker bus which was used, with its psychedelic colour scheme ensuring nobody missed it along its travels.
Wings went on to have hits with songs including Mull Of Kintyre, James Bond film theme Live And Let Die, Band On The Run and more, before they disbanded in 1981.
From the 1973 album of the same name, Band On The Run went on to win a Grammy in 1975 for the best pop vocal performance by a duo, group or chorus and peaked at number three in the UK singles chart in August 1974.
Laine's death at the age of 79 was announced by his wife Elizabeth Hines in December 2023, who said he had 'passed away peacefully' following a battle with lung disease.
In 2022, Sir Paul, then aged 80, delivered a history-making Glastonbury headline set as he became the festival's oldest solo headliner.
In December 2024, he played songs by Wings and The Beatles to a packed crowd at London's O2 Arena in a performance that saw him welcome his former Beatles bandmate Sir Ringo Starr to the stage.

Angel and Buffy star David Boreanaz now from health fears to Playboy model wife
The New York-born actor has starred in a number of hit shows, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Bones, and most recently SEAL Team. But where is he now? David Boreanaz was a little-known actor when his life changed forever in 1997. The star had only appeared in a handful of small film roles and in a single 1993 episode of Married… with Children before landing the role of reluctant vampire Angel in the hit series Buffy The Vampire Slayer. He instantly became a breakout star, and a household name when his character was given a spin-off series, Angel, which aired for five seasons from 1999 to 2004. But where is the New York-born star now and what has he been up to? We take a closer look at David's life both on and off the screen. Acting gigs and health fears David's most recent high-profile acting job was starring in SEAL Team, an American military drama television series that follows an elite unit of United States Navy SEALs. He starred as Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes a.k.a. Bravo 1/1B, the leader of the team, to much acclaim. The seventh and final season of the show premiered in August 2024. Speaking about the physical toll it took on his body - and explaining why the season would be his last - David, 56, told People: "My body just can't do it anymore!" He added: "You learn from the SEALs how to push through pain — I'm talking guys who have had their arm blown off and are cracking jokes because that's how they deal with it. It's very intense. "I take good care of myself, but it gets to a point where your body's not moving like it used to... I think I've had four MRIs in the past four months, for my knees, hips, shoulders. It's been quite a journey." Family life David has been married to former Playboy model Jaime Bergman since November 2001 and together they share two children - son Jaden, 23, and daughter Bella, 15. Prior to finding love with Jaime, he was married to Ingrid Quinn from 1997 to 1999. In May this year, David shared a post in celebration of Jaden's birthday, sharing a series of photos and writing in part: "Happy Birthday son. You shine to the stars and reach for the moon in ways that light up rooms with love and laughter. You are my everything and my world. I love you…" Scandals In 2010, David admitted to having an affair with Rachel Uchitel, the same woman with whom Tiger Woods allegedly cheated on his wife with. At the time, his wife Jaime was reportedly pregnant with their second child. In her statement to Access, Rachel said of their affair: "First of all I want to make it clear that he pursued me. Second, the authentic texts which I have reveal that David Boreanaz repeatedly expressed his deep love and affection towards me. "Third, I broke off the relationship because I no longer respected or trusted him. Finally, I am deeply hurt and offended that anyone would think that I wanted to break up his family. Nothing could be further from the truth." Speaking in October 2011, David told TV Week: "In a sacred ground like marriage, you find yourself out of it at certain times for reasons unknown that can be destructive. There could be a demon that kind of comes out and overtakes you. "Do I believe in giving up? No, I don't. I'm a fighter. I'm a lover," he said. While Jaime said at the time of his confession that she was 'angry', the pair decided to work on their marriage. It's not the only storm the couple have weathered. In 2010, a co-worker on the set of Bones sued David for alleged sexual harassment, claiming he repeatedly attempted to kiss and fondle her. David's spokeswoman at the time called the allegations "fabricated and absurd". In March 2011, The co-worker then dismissed the lawsuit against David, according to court records. She wrote in an email that it had been "resolved" but did not offer further details. Future plans David has hinted at some exciting future endeavours, telling People after SEAL Team ended: "I have plans. My work ethic is always head on a swivel, be in the now, don't look back, don't look far down the pipeline." Acknowledging at the time that he was ready for a break after starring in back-to-back series for nearly 30 years, he admitted he's not good at sitting still. "Vacations are good until, like, the second day, and then I'm bouncing my knees thinking about what we're going to do next," he said. "My mind is always actively going. Work to me is relaxation, it fulfills me." Work, he said, and spending time with his kids. "That's it." Certainly, David seems to be embracing his role as a proud father. Speaking last summer, he told the publication: "I just helped my son move out of his apartment in New York. It was a test of patience! "My son did most of the packing and setting it up for the new tenant while I helped from the outside, but it was a tornado. Parenting is such a journey. It never ends, and it never gets easier!" The Bones alum continued: "He went to NYU, but he decided to take a break from it during the last year. He's an artist and a musician so he's staying true to his soul... you have to go with the beat of your heart." As for daughter Bella: "My daughter is an excellent equestrian. She's a loving adventurous soul. Both of my kids are doing their own thing. I'm very protective of them, but everyone's great. My son is a singer, an artist, and a musician, my daughter is in high school. Everyone is good."

Masked thieves steal £5,000 worth of Labubu dolls from Los Angeles shop
Watch as burglars steal a shop's entire stock of Labubu dolls A group of masked thieves have stolen around $7,000 (£5,200) worth of Labubu dolls from a Los Angeles shop this week, local authorities said. The incident happened early Wednesday morning at a toy shop called One Stop Sales in La Puente, a city around 18 miles east of Los Angeles, the LA County Sheriff's Department said. The department said the suspects used a stolen Toyota Tacoma in the incident, which was recovered shortly afterwards. It added that the investigation is ongoing and no further details are available. Labubu dolls, created by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung, have become popular and expensive collectables a decade after they were first introduced. As well as toys, the dolls have become fashion accessories, with celebrities like Rihanna, Dua Lipa, and BLACKPINK's Lisa spotted using them as bag charms. One Stop Sales said in an Instagram post that the thieves stole its entire stock and damaged the store. The store shared CCTV footage showing a group wearing hoodies and face coverings breaking in. The suspects can be seen searching through items and carrying boxes out of the shop. 'We are still in shock,' the store said in its post, urging people to help find the thieves.

Roy Keane reacted exactly as you'd expect when fan tried to hug the ITV pundit
Roy Keane offered a priceless reaction when a YouTuber and fan tried to hug him before the Community Shield in 2024, with the Manchester United legend and Ian Wright both left stunned Roy Keane reacted in hilariously typical fashion when a fan tried to hug him before last year's Community Shield clash. Keane and Ian Wright appeared as pundits on ITV for the 2024 fixture between Manchester United and Manchester City. Keane's former team United went a goal up in the 82nd minute thanks to Alejandro Garnacho, but conceded just seven minutes later to Bernardo Silva, before going on to lose the first Manchester Derby of the season on penalties. Prior to the match at Wembley Stadium, Wright and Keane were pitchside preparing for their television roles when YouTube personality Harry Pinero and fellow content creator CultureCams appeared and approached the football legends. They greeted Ian Wright warmly, hugging the Arsenal legend and laughing as they enjoyed a nice chat. They then met Keane, who shook Pinero's hand initially, and then CultureCam's, in a relatively friendly manner. But the latter, immediately after introducing himself, attempted to show the Irishman the same affection he had shown Wright. Yet, that was a step too far for the intimidating and notoriously no-nonsense former midfielder. The ex-Red Devils captain was clearly caught off guard by the personal nature of the greeting. Keane didn't seem too impressed as CultureCams embraced him and awkwardly stood still without putting his own arm around the YouTuber, all while sporting a puzzled facial expression. His reaction left Wright and Pinero in heaps of laughter as the former England striker said: "We all love him bro, but you can't come in like that." Keane, still stunned at the audacity, then gave a slight smile as the YouTuber corrected his error by offering him a simple handshake. Later, CultureCams didn't appear to regret his brazen move and seemed well aware that the Irishman was not a fan of hugs, writing on X: "I did it for all of us." There will be no such misunderstandings on Sunday as FA Cup winners Crystal Palace take on Premier League Champions Liverpool in the 2025 Community Shield at Wembley. The broadcast rights have moved to TNT Sports, meaning ITV will not show the fixture and Keane and Wright will therefore not be on punditry duty. The clash marks Palace's first appearance in the annual fixture, which has been a staple of the football calendar for nearly 120 years. Arne Slot's side, meanwhile, have lifted the shield 16 times. Both teams will look to begin their respective seasons on the right track ahead of next weekend's Premier League 2025/26 season openers. Liverpool have bolstered their squad by spending around £265million on new signings in the summer transfer window, which could shoot up to £400m if they manage to secure Alexander Isak. Meanwhile, Palace have been disappointing in the transfer window while they await their European fate after appealing their demotion from the Europa League to the Conference League.
