Chick-fil-A's latest metro Detroit location to open in Auburn Hills, create 130 jobs
Chick-fil-A, the fast-food giant known for its chicken sandwiches, continues its expansion in the Michigan market, with a new restaurant opening in Auburn Hills.
At 6:30 a.m. April 17, Chick-fil-A opens at 2111 N. Squirrel Road.
The Auburn Hills location expects to employ about 130 people. In southeast Michigan, there are now 20 Chick-fil-A locations and more than 30 across Michigan.
Chick-fil-A is known for its signature fried or grilled chicken sandwiches with a pickle and special sauce, waffle fries and a menu of salads, sides and breakfast items.
Locally owned and operated by Greg Russell, the restaurant will offer dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out service from 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Chick-fil-A locations are noted for being closed on Sundays. Russell, according to a news release, is a metro Detroit native and former youth basketball coach. On Thursday, Russell will honor 100 local heroes with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
"My goal is to cultivate a place where love is at the center of everything we do – serving our Guests with care, supporting our Team Members and giving back to the community," Russell said in a news release.
As with most Chick-fil-A openings, the new restaurant will donate $25,000 to Feeding America that will benefit hunger relief efforts and be distributed between Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan and Forgotten Harvest.
The Auburn Hills locations will also participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which donates surplus food to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits.

Last September, Chick-fil-A announced a significant investment and expansion of its Michigan footprint. The fast-food giant expects to add more than two dozen locations in metro Detroit and statewide. Across these new anticpated Michigan locations, Chick-fil-A expects to create 2,500 jobs.
Chick-fil-A already operates nearly 30 restaurants across the state and about a dozen in metro Detroit, from Woodhaven to Novi to Shelby Township.
With cult-like following — and oft-criticized for its past donations to anti-LGBTQ+ causes — Chick-fil-A ranks as a popular fast-food chain with consumers. For the 10th year straight, the chain held the top spot for fast food on the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2024 report released last June. The family-owned Chick-fil-A was founded in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy and is headquartered in Atlanta. There are more than 3,000 Chick-fil-A locations across 48 states, Washington, D.C., Canada and Puerto Rico, according to chick-fil-a.com.

Make-A-Wish Open returns for 27th year
TOWN OF UNION, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A day on the golf course helped raise critical funding to make the wishes of some special children come true. The Nelcorp Electrical/Northeast Drilling Make-A-Wish Open took place on Monday at Traditions at the Glen. This is the 27th year that the tournament has raised money to grant wishes for children facing serious medical challenges. The money is generated through entry fees, auction items, raffles, and donations. The Make-A-Wish chapter in Central New York currently has a waiting list of 116 kids, with 21 of them in the Southern Tier. Tom Augostini is a board member whose brother, Vincent, received a wish when he was a child. 'This is a way to provide some relief, some hope, some inspiration, and just to be able to raise money and to grant a once-in-a-lifetime wish, it's a great cause,' said Augostini. The tournament has successfully granted 14 children from Broome, Otsego, Chenango, and Tioga counties' wishes within the past year. 298 have received wishes since the tournament began. The HEMI is back: Citing customer feedback, Ram returns V8 HEMI engines to 1500 pickups
The HEMI is back: Citing customer feedback, Ram returns V8 HEMI engines to 1500 pickups Show Caption Hide Caption Detroit Free Press Car, Truck, Utility of the Year revealed Decades of work by Toyota and a bold new strategy from General Motors pay off with great vehicles, all priced in the heart of the market. Ram discontinued the HEMI engine in 2024, opting for a more powerful and fuel efficient inline six-cylinder engine. Citing customer sentiment, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis said the brand would rerelease the V-8 HEMI engine in most of its pickup offerings. Kuniskis also noted a change in Ram's market approach, with an extensive focus on one-to-one retail sales with "real customers." A year after removing the HEMI, Ram is reintroducing its famous V-8 engine to its product lineup and unveiling a new logo to accompany it. At a preview event with automotive media, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis said the HEMI is coming back to Ram trucks along with a new emblem that the brand is calling a "symbol of protest," featuring a ram's head jutting out of a V-8 engine block. Rams reequipped with the HEMI engines will be available for sale this summer, the company said, in the following Ram 1500 models: Tradesman, Big Horn, Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel (available later than other models), Limited and Longhorn. A year ago, Ram announced it would be discontinuing the HEMI V-8 engines in favor of a more fuel-efficient and powerful Hurricane twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine. The hurricane engines also performed better under emissions regulations. That move, Kuniskis said, was a mistake. "Ram screwed up when we dropped the HEMI — we own it and we fixed it,' Kuniskis said in a statement. Both the Hurricane and HEMI engines will be available for buyers now, giving buyers a choice. Kuniskis said that the decision was informed by customer feedback. People were mad. Toyota Tundra recalls: Is Toyota's most expensive truck reliable or plagued with issues? "(Buyers) hate the fact that we took away the freedom of choice," Kuniskis said. "We as Americans, probably more so truck buyers, hate the fact that we said, 'This is the choice you get, this is the engine you're going to take.' " Kuniskis said Ram's market approach has changed to focus almost entirely on retail sales, pulling back on fleet and rental business. Kuniskis considers this the truest reflection of the automotive market, he said, referring to retail sales as "sales to real customers." As is common with Kuniskis, whose persona reflects Ram's brand identity as loud and unapologetic, he was quick to decry experts who hawk Ram's sales numbers. The decision to bring the HEMI back was made because he heard enough from people who were upset, not crafty data analytics. "At the end of each month, we count sales to customers, not statisticians or ideologues," Kuniskis said. "Data be damned — we raise our flag and let the HEMI ring free again!' added Kuniskis. Frontenac Mortgage Investment Corporation Provides Bi-Weekly Update on Annual Filings and Provides an Update on Interim Filings for First Quarter of 2025 and Annual General Meeting
OTTAWA, ON, June 9, 2025 /CNW/ - Bi-Weekly update on Annual Filings Frontenac Mortgage Investment Corporation ("FMIC" or the "Company") today provided an update with respect to its previously announced management cease trade order ("MCTO") in connection with the Company's filings of its audited annual financial statements (the "Audited Financial Statements") and management discussion and analysis (the "MD&A"), for the financial year ended December 31, 2024 and the applicable CEO and CFO certifications (together with the Audited Financial Statements and the MD&A, the "Annual Filings"). Further to its press release dated May 26, 2025 (the "Announcement"), its principal regulator, the Ontario Securities Commission, granted the MCTO on May 9, 2025. As previously announced, the Company applied for the MCTO due to a delay in the filing of the Company's annual financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2024, the related management's discussion and analysis and the management certifications of annual filings (collectively, the "Required Documents"), which were due on April 30, 2025. The MCTO restricts the Company's former manager, W.A. Robinson & Associates Ltd. ("W.A. Robinson"), its former administrator, Pillar Financial Services Inc. ("Pillar"), and certain individuals who are or have been directors or officers of FMIC, W.A. Robinson and Pillar from all trading in securities of the Company until such time as the Required Documents have been filed by the Company and the MCTO has been lifted. The MCTO does not affect the ability of other shareholders of the Company to trade in securities of the Company. As previously disclosed, the delay in filing the Required Documents is due to delays experienced by the Company's external auditors, MNP LLP, in completing the audit of the annual financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2024. The Company is continuing to work diligently with its external auditors to complete the audit and currently expects to file the Required Documents by June 30, 2025. The Company will issue a news release announcing completion of the filing of the Annual Filings at such time as they are completed and filed. Until the Required Documents are filed, the Company intends to comply with the provisions of the alternative information guidelines as set out in National Policy 12-203 – Management Cease Trade Orders ("NP 12-203") for as long as it remains in default, including the issuance of bi-weekly default status reports in the form of a news release. The Company confirms that since the date of the Announcement: (i) there has been no material change to the information set out in the Announcement that has not been generally disclosed; (ii) there has not been any other specified default by the Company under NP 12-203; (iii) the Company is not subject to any insolvency proceedings; and (iv) there is no material information concerning the affairs of the Company that has not been generally disclosed. Update on First Quarter Financials The aforementioned delay in filing the Annual Filings has created an additional delay in filing the First Quarter Financial Statements and related documents for the Company. The First Quarter statements were due to be filed on May 30, 2025. It is anticipated that the First Quarter Statements and Related Documents will be filed alongside, or shortly following, the Annual Filings. Update on 2025 Annual General Meeting The 2025 Annual General Meeting will be called later in 2025, due to the delay in the availability of the Annual Filings, which are a requirement for presentation at the Meeting. When the Board of Directors has set the Meeting Date, a Notice of Meeting will be communicated, and shareholder packages will be provided to registered shareholders of Frontenac. Forward-Looking Statements This press release contains certain forward-looking statements and forward-looking information (collectively referred to herein as "forward-looking statements") within the meaning of applicable Canadian securities laws, which may include, but are not limited to, information and statements regarding or inferring the future business, operations, financial performance, prospects, and other plans, intentions, expectations, estimates, and beliefs of the Company, and specifically includes statements relating to the timing of the filing of the Required Documents.
