The strategic alliance aims to empower industries with AI-powered safety solutions and cutting-edge, tech-enabled business models that fulfil both legal and social compliance expectations. The collaboration is expected to set new benchmarks in creating safer, smarter, and more sustainable industrial environments through automation, real-time monitoring, and intelligent process management.

SBP working on exchange, interest rates for stability: says FinMin
Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has stated that the State Bank of Pakistan is working on the exchange rate and interest rate, and the situation is expected to improve further. The finance minister said that ups and downs keep coming, but talent remains unaffected. Economic stability has now been achieved in the country. The three major rating agencies are positive about Pakistan. The State Bank is working on the exchange rate and interest rate, and as stability increases, the situation will improve further.

‘US-Canada relations'
This is apropos a letter to the Editor from this writer carried by the newspaper yesterday. It is important to note that until recently, the two countries were bound by one of the strongest economic partnerships in the world. In 2024, total goods trade between them reached USD 761.8 billion, with US exports to Canada worth USD 349.9 billion and imports from Canada at USD 411.9 billion. Agriculture alone accounted for USD 28.4 billion in US exports, including nearly USD 800 million in dairy. Canada sent USD 124 billion worth of energy, machinery, and vehicles to the United States, while the USMCA trade agreement favored US dairy producers by granting 3.6 percent tariff-free access to Canada's USD 15 billion dairy market and removing restrictions that had long frustrated American farmers. This trade was not just numbers—it represented communities, livelihoods, and a shared prosperity that outsiders often described as two halves of one whole. That reality began to unravel early in President Trump's second term when he abruptly imposed tariffs on Canadian goods, starting at 10 percent and then climbing to 35 percent, with threats of even higher duties on dairy. In public speeches, he floated the idea of Canada becoming the 'cherished 51st State' of the United States. The comments were not taken lightly in Ottawa. Prime Minister Mark Carney declared that 'Canada is not for sale and will never be the 51st state.' Former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau described the remarks as humiliating, while Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland called the US actions 'economic warfare.' FPCCI achievement awards ceremony: ‘Marka-e-Economy' launched
KARACHI: Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori declared the launch of Marka-e-Economy at the 12th FPCCI Achievement Awards Ceremony held at Governor House Karachi. Addressing the business community, he said the nation had already won the Marka-e-Haq (Battle of Truth), and now it was time to begin the Marka-e-Economy. He urged industrialists to step forward with greater investment, exports, and job creation, stressing that just as the enemy was defeated with unity and determination, Pakistan's economy must now be strengthened with the same spirit. The Governor announced the establishment of a Marka-e-Economy Cell, to be supervised by a Grade-20 officer, to address the concerns of industrialists and traders, with special focus on small businesses. Paying tribute to FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh and S.M. Tanveer, the Governor said, 'We are a victorious nation. We have defeated a country five times stronger than us, and our armed forces have proven that the defence of Pakistan is in capable hands. Just as Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir stands firmly with the business community, now it is time for the business community to stand with Pakistan.' The 12th FPCCI Achievement Awards Ceremony was hosted by FPCCI at Governor House, attended by hundreds of representatives from the business sector, along with senior MQM-P leaders Dr. Farooq Sattar, Anees Qaimkhani, and other dignitaries. Achievement Awards were presented to exporters, industrialists, entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, and social figures for their outstanding services. A posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on Sheikh Muhammad Ikram for his lifelong contributions to business and social welfare. Speaking on the occasion, S.M. Tanveer said Governor Kamran Khan Tessori had won the hearts of people through his unmatched initiatives. FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh added that FPCCI is the apex body representing over 280 chambers and trade associations nationwide, and that the Governor has been working tirelessly for the business community, resolving their issues on a priority basis. He also highlighted that despite challenges, the business community had kept the economy running, provided employment, and sustained tax revenues. He pledged that FPCCI would become the government's partner in achieving the $100 billion export target. The program was formally hosted under the leadership of Atif Ikram Sheikh, President FPCCI; S.M.
