Ex-Arsenal star called out for having a big mouth and picking on young players by rival after heated on-pitch exchange last season

Paulo Dybala has reignited his war of words with a former Arsenal player - stating that his rival 'talks too much' among his flaws. Dybala and the player in question have had a simmering dispute since April 2024 when the two went head-to-head in a bitter local derby. The quarrelling duo had to be separated by team-mates after a heated confrontation on the pitch. Dybala's recent nemesis? Matteo Guendouzi. The ex-Arsenal midfielder currently plies his trade at Lazio and it was last year's Rome derby against eternal foes Roma - whom Dybala plays for - where the sparks first flew. And recalling the incident, Dybala told Sergio Aguero 's podcast La Casa del Kun: 'That guy talks too much and picks on the youngsters.' Expanding further, the Argentina forward revealed that Guendouzi tried to belittle Roma team-mate Matias Soule - dating back to Lazio clashes against Frosinone, the latter's former club. 'That Frenchman has a big mouth and he annoys the youngsters in particular, he always takes it out on them. 'He would tell them: "I'll buy you a ticket, I'll send you home", he always did that to the youngsters. For example, Soule played for Frosinone the year before and he told us that he always told him: "I'll buy you one".' That example angered Dybala who sought to silence his opponent during the derby, which Roma won 1-0, in more ways than one. 'It made me really angry, so I went to the pitch to look for him. We said everything. 'Then I remembered that they had just given me the shin guard with the photo of the World Cup [won against France in 2022], and I showed it to him. He didn't say anything.' The already-explosive Rome derby next season is bound to have some added spice next season.

Lionesses stars speak out on ‘damaging' social media abuse ahead of Euro 2025

England players are conscious of the dangers of looking at social media during Euro 2025, with senior figures in the Lionesses squad ready to offer support to younger members of the team if they face hateful comments online. It comes after Katie Boulter, the British No 2 tennis player, revealed that she had received death threats and suffered abuse from online trolls after defeats, with Boulter adding that it has become the 'norm' for players to have their inboxes flooded with negative comments. After their memorable Euro 2022 victory increased the spotlight on women's football, Lionesses will arguably be under more attention when they kick off their Euro 2025 campaign against France on Saturday 5 July than they were three years ago. Striker Alessia Russo says she will come off Instagram during the tournament after taking the decision to step away from her social media apps during the last Women's World Cup. 'I think every player might have a different story about that side of the game but it's definitely one that can be really damaging,' Russo said. 'I have faced it in the past and I think most players here have. 'When I was younger I probably got sucked into it more. I read it more than I should have and listened to it more than I should have. The only opinions that matter are my team-mates, my coaches and my family. I think you have to remember that they are the people you need to lean on in tough times. 'As I've got older, I understand more what works for me. In my first Euros I was on social media and I would have a look, have a scroll, and I got caught in a trap sometimes. Going into the World Cup, I completely came off everything and I had people to run my Instagram. 'I just focused on the tournament. It's personal preference and whatever works for the team. Staying away from it and staying focused as a team is what works for me.' It remains up the players to decide whether they will remain on social media during the tournament and there will be several younger stars, such as 21-year-old forward Aggie Beever-Jones and 22-year-old Grace Clinton, who will be going to a major tournament for the first time. 'I do like to scroll in Instagram but I know other people turn their phones off,' said midfielder Ella Toone. 'We have that conversation and all know how each other wants to go through the tournament. 'I think from experiences me and Alessia have had in the past, we've always been the people that want to make sure the younger or less experienced players coming into the squad feel relaxed and feel OK. 'We want them to feel like they can make an impact. We have such a talented squad. We have bags of talent coming into their first tournament so we want to make sure they are at ease and feel confident within themselves. 'Being at my third tournament now, I want to make sure they are settled, relaxed and can go out there and show the world what they are about. We want to make sure they are comfortable within the environment.'

Conor McGregor brutally lashes out at partygoer while drinking until 6am at exclusive Ibiza club after partying with Katie Price and Tottenham star at Wayne Lineker's beach club

Conor McGregor brutally floored a partygoer with two punches at the infamous Pacha nightclub in Ibiza. The disgraced fighter was seen hitting the reveller on the Spanish party island as he boozed until the early hours on Tuesday morning. The 36-year-old was seen in conversation with a man before putting his arm around his shoulders and lashing out as music continues to loudly blare. He speaks to the man for a few seconds before hitting him with his left hand while holding a glass of alcohol in his right. McGregor, a former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, then lands another blow just seconds later to leave the reveller on the floor. The Irishman has not fought since 2021 and is protected from his victim by his entourage after flooring him. One party-goer told The Sun: 'Clearly something's been said to annoy him and he's reacted very badly. 'The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away. 'There [didn't appear to be any] consequences for Conor, but the guy he punched was taken away and I didn't see him again.' The violent scrap came just hours after McGregor was seen partying with Katie Price at Wayne Lineker's O Beach. McGregor sported red shorts, a cap and sun glasses while puffing on a cigar and playing up to the crowds at a wild day time party. Price shared a picture of the pair on her Instagram page with the caption: 'You legend,' after McGregor tagged her in his own story and said: 'Forever'. Tottenham defender Kevin Danso also posted a picture with the former fighter on his Instagram. McGregor has tried to become involved in politics and even said he'd run for Irish president McGregor's outburst is not the first time he has lost his temper whilst partying at the Pacha resort. Three years ago he stamped on a fan's hat after a teenager threw it towards him and asked for him to sign it. He gave a sarcastic thumbs up before angrily aiming insults at the fan.
