Nico Rosberg calls out Danica Patrick live on Sky Sports F1 at Canadian GP

The Canadian Grand Prix track sparked debate between Sky Sports F1 colleagues Danica Patrick and Nico Rosberg during the broadcaster's live coverage of the Montreal event
Danica Patrick was told she was wrong about the Canadian Grand Prix track by her colleague Nico Rosberg. The German's comment came during the live Sky Sports broadcast from Montreal as former IndyCar and NASCAR driver Patrick spoke about the circuit.
The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is a fans' favourite when it comes to all the different circuits visited by Formula 1 over the course of a season. And it is not for the faint-hearted in places, with some notoriously difficult sections including the famous 'Wall of Champions' at the final corner.

Despite that, Patrick claimed that it is "not a super challenging track". She said: "Montreal is a fun track, but it's not the most complicated. As long as you get get the balance right, you get it to change directions, just be able to get on the throttle coming off, you can put it together here."

But that was not a view shared by he Sky Sports colleague Rosberg. And the 2016 F1 champion was quick to make that known as he provided the complete opposite view of a circuit he knows very well from his racing days.
Rosberg replied: "I have to disagree ever so slightly there, Danica. Montreal is one of the hardest tracks of the year, because there's so many bumps and at every kerb you have to hit it so perfectly.
"It's a real driver's track, which is why Lewis Hamilton has won all his records here and even Max Verstappen has won all the last races, because the driver can really shine here." In response, Patrick admitted that "there is a huge penalty for not being precise and that's hitting the wall."
That exchange came after Patrick had made a similar claim a day earlier on the Sky broadcast from Friday's action. While her claim went unchallenged that time, colleague Martin Brundle seemed to briefly double-take at what he had just heard before simply staring into the camera.

Patrick has become a regular pundit on Sky's F1 coverage, appearing several times per season as part of the broadcaster's rotating pool of on-screen talent. But her appearances often come with some criticism as she has become a divisive figure because of her political views.
She is a public supporter of Donald Trump, having endorsed his successful run for the US Presidency last year. Patrick was also previously in a relationship with NFL superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers having dated for more than two years until they split in summer 2020.
And last month she claimed during a podcast appearance that Rodgers had been "emotionally abusive". She said: "The nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing... He leaves a trail of blood. I don't think I'm saying too much earth-shattering stuff – there's been enough out there."
