- Shooting Upgrade: Jackson's ability to stretch the floor complements Dončić's playmaking.
- Defensive Boost: His shot-blocking fills a major gap in the Lakers' defense.
For the
Memphis Grizzlies
- Youth Movement: Reaves (26) and Vanderbilt (25) fit Memphis' timeline better than Jackson (24 but nearing free agency).
- Draft Strategy: With Zach Edey drafted ninth overall, Jackson's role becomes expendable.
- Financial Flexibility: Jackson's expiring $23M deal could complicate future cap space.
Potential Roadblocks
- Jackson's Expiring Contract: He becomes a free agent after 2025-26, possibly leading to a sign-and-trade scenario.
- Reaves' Value: The Lakers may hesitate to part with a cost-effective contributor like Reaves.
If the Los Angeles Lakers prioritize immediate contention, trading for Jackson Jr. is a no-brainer. His two-way impact elevates them into title favorites, while Memphis gains young talent to build around.

Memphis Grizzlies trade Desmond Bane to Orlando Magic in major NBA off-season move
The Memphis Grizzlies have traded Desmond Bane to Orlando Magic. The report comes as the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder are in the fray to win the National Basketball Association (NBA) 2025 finals. With the NBA off-season underway for all franchises except Indiana and Oklahoma, the Grizzlies decided to trade Bane for guards Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Cole Anthony, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania. The Grizzlies also get a first-round pick swap and four unprotected first-round picks for Bane. This is the first major off-season trade for the NBA sides this year. For Memphis, the inclusion of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Cole Anthony adds some much-needed depth to the back court. As per Sports Illustrated, the Grizzlies get the No. 16 pick in the 2025 NBA draft in the trade. The side will also have a 2026 first round pick with swap rights from either the Washington Wizards or the Phoenix Suns. They also get Orlando's 2028 and 2030 unprotected first round draft picks and a lightly protected 2029 first round pick swap. For Orlando, their decision to trade Kentavious Caldwell-Pope comes just a year after they added him into the side to fulfill their need for a three-point shooter. As per the decision did not pay off. KCP shot just 34.2 per cent from beyond the arc, a sharp dip from the previous season, when he shot 40.6 per cent from deep. Bane earned $34,005,250 in the 2024-2025 NBA season. He is known for his skills as a shooting guard in the NBA. Bane got traded by the Memphis Grizzlies to Orlando Magic.

Report: Heat, Spurs, Rockets top Kevin Durant's trade wish list
Potential landing spots for Kevin Durant are starting to emerge should the Phoenix Suns trade him, as expected, with the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets his preferred destinations, according to ESPN. Those are the three teams Durant would commit to for a longer term, per the ESPN report Saturday night. He has one season left on his current deal and is set to earn $54.7 million in 2025-26. While word of Durant's preferences has spread across the NBA, the Suns also have been clear that they will make the best move for the team, regardless of the desires of the 15-time All-Star. The Minnesota Timberwolves also are expected to be among the teams in the mix for a trade. Durant, who turns 37 in September, played in 62 games with the Suns in 2024-25. He averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 blocks, not far off of his career averages. He also shot 43.0 percent from 3-point range. Selected to the All-NBA first team six times, Durant has appeared in 1,123 games with the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder , Golden State Warriors , Brooklyn Nets and Suns. He has career averages of 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds. 4.4 assists and 1.1 blocks, shooting 39 percent from long distance. Once the new league year begins on July 6, Durant is eligible to sign a two-year extension worth up to $122 million. The Suns finished 36-46 and missed the NBA playoffs in the 2024-25 seasons. Head coach Mike Budenholzer was fired after just one season. Field Level Media

'It doesn't bother me': Kyrie Irving reacts to Tracy McGrady's big claim on comparison with Jamaal Tinsley
Kyrie Irving has reacted to Tracy McGrady's big claim, where he compared the former NBA guard Jamaal Tinsley's handle to the Dallas Mavericks' All-Star. The controversy arose after Tracy McGrady made the bold claim that Tinsley's ball handling skills were even greater than Irving's — a view that raised eyebrows across the league. 'I don't think nobody had better handles than Jamaal Tinsley, even Kyrie,' McGrady said in a segment, adding a fresh twist to the ongoing debate about who stands out most when it comes to creativity with the ball in their hands. Irving reacted to a comment in a subtle way during a Twitch stream. He made his thoughts clear, emphasising that he's comfortable in his own skin and that comments like these do not diminish his confidence in his game. "When I see an OG like (Tracy McGrady) come out and say 'I don't think nobody had better handles than Jamaal Tinsley, even Kyrie,' it doesn't bother me because I'm a mix of all the great players that came before me," Irving said. The comparison also highlights a rich era in the NBA, when players like Tinsley, McGrady, and now Irving made ball handling a form of artistry. Each has a unique style, adding their own flavour and imagination to their drives and crossovers. 'You never know who's watching you, you never know who's going to be in a position to help you or give you that opportunity,' Irving said.'Just move with grace. It's okay to be a kind person. You don't have to be too cool to say what's up to people. You don't have to be too tough to get along with people. But honor yourself too. Balance that out.' Irving tore his ACL in early March and is currently undergoing extensive recovery and rehabilitation. While the Dallas Mavericks' All-Star guard is expected to make his comeback at some point next season, he's likely to miss a significant portion of the campaign as he works his way back to full fitness.
