EXCLUSIVE Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz hire Duke and Duchess of Sussex's lawyer to help with 'reputation management amid family rift

Daily Mail2 days ago

They are said to have bonded over 'fallouts' with their in-laws.
And now The Mail on Sunday can reveal that Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have hired the Duke and Duchess of Sussex 's lawyer to help them with their 'reputation management'.
Last week, the couple, who have reportedly fallen out with his parents David and Victoria, instructed Jenny Afia, the British solicitor who works for Schillings law firm.
It is understood that there was a referral from the Duchess of Sussex after she and Harry met Brooklyn and Nicola at a party in Montecito, California, three weeks ago as guests of Brian Robbins, chief executive at Paramount Pictures.
Ms Afia's appointment has prompted 'much amusement', it is claimed, among the Beckhams, as Posh and Becks fell out with Harry some years ago after they were accused by the couple of leaking stories.
A source familiar with the rift told the MoS: 'You couldn't really make it up, first Brooklyn and Nicola cosy up together and realise they have quite a lot in common, and then all of a sudden they have enlisted the help of the Sussexes' long-serving lawyer.
'Nicola and Brooklyn are getting fed up of stories running they don't like. Nicola likes to control everything and they have taken this rather drastic action.
'For the Beckhams the irony isn't lost. They fell out with Meghan and Harry after they accused them of leaking stories – they were furious and Brooklyn knows that.
'The two couples are very close indeed.'
The feud began in the run-up to Brooklyn and Nicola's extravagant Palm Beach wedding in April 2022.
But it came to a head during David's 50th birthday celebrations earlier this year when, despite travelling to London, Brooklyn and Nicola didn't attend a big family party at the Beckhams ' Cotswolds home, an idyllic trip to France or a meal at Notting Hill Michelin-starred restaurant, Core.
Brooklyn, 26, also missed a 'boys fishing trip' to the Scottish Highlands with his father and his younger brothers Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, as well as a pre-birthday bash at Miami restaurant Cipriani at the end of March.

Patrick Mahomes left in disbelief as Kansas City Royals call up top prospect Jac Caglianone

It took fewer than 80 minor-league games, but Kansas City Royals phenom Jac Caglianone is already getting called up to the majors - and nobody is happier than Patrick Mahomes. The Royals minority owner and Chiefs quarterback reacted to the news on X, where ESPN's Jeff Passan revealed the 22-year-old Caglianone (pronounced: CAG-lee-ohn) is headed from Triple-A Omaha to Kansas City. Rather than using his own words to convey his excitement, Mahomes instead relied on a meme of Steve Carell's Michael Scott character from the office. 'Oh, my God!' Scott says in the clip. 'Okay, it's happening.' There was some confusion among fans about Mahomes' reaction, given that he grew up in the Dallas area and has a father who once pitched for the Texas Rangers in addition to a number of other teams in the majors and Japan. 'You're a Rangers fan!' one person wrote on X. Others wondered why Mahomes, who obtained a minority stake of the Royals in 2021, learned of the news after Passan. 'Shouldn't you be like the 1st person to know… your (sic) a owner?' another asked. Mahomes is hardly alone in his anticipation of Caglianone's arrival, who could pay dividends for a surprisingly competitive Royals club in the American League Central. Kansas City currently sits at 21-29, which is eight games back of first-place Detroit, but right in the thick of the wildcard chase. Manager Matt Quatraro's pitchers rank fourth in the majors in earned-run average (3.13), but the offense is tied for 28th in runs scored. Enter Caglianone, a punishing left-handed hitter who could complement a lineup highlighted by righties Bobby Witt Jr., Jonathan India, Salvador Perez and Maikel Garcia. A pitcher and first baseman at Florida, the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Caglianone has abandoned the mound in favor of the batter's box, where he's flourished since being picked sixth overall in last year's MLB Draft. Over just 79 minor-league games across High-A, Double-A and Triple-A, Caglianone hit .292 with an impressive .358 on-base percentage and a robust .517 slugging percentage thanks to 17 home runs and 18 doubles. He also comes from a baseball hotbed in Tampa, where he attended the same high school as Hall-of-Famer Wade Boggs and current New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso.

Jimmy John's offering an all-new menu item this summer... but only for a limited time

Jimmy John's is kicking off the summer season with its first new cookie flavor of the year. The sandwich chain debuted its Lemon Sunshine Cookie at participating locations nationwide on Monday, and the treat will be available 'all summer long.' The lemon-flavored cookie brings a 'burst of sunshine' to Jimmy John's menus and features white chocolate chips. 'Summer is all about fresh flavors and fun moments, and our Lemon Sunshine Cookie delivers on both,' said Kate Carpenter, vice president of marketing. 'It's bold, bright, and perfectly captures the sunny spirit of the season. We're excited to bring guests something new that truly tastes like summer.' Jimmy John's has grown substantially over the years in the US, and is the nation's largest owned delivery sandwich brand. With over 2,600 locations, it has shown no signs of slowing down and regularly earns more than $2 billion in annual revenue. It's also a significant competitor to Subway, the largest US sandwich chain that has closed over 1,645 locations in the past two years. While Subway has been struggling, Jimmy John's has been growing and opening locations worldwide. The sandwich chain opened its first restaurant outside the US in El Salvador last September, which its parent company, Inspire Brands, called a 'catalyst for the brand's global growth.' It entered the Asian market a month later by opening a location in Seoul, South Korea. Once its Korean eatery opened, the chain traveled back to North America and opened its first restaurant in Canada. Its newest restaurants outside the US opened earlier this month in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Renowned franchisee Galadari Food & Beverage Division is operating the Middle Eastern restaurants. 'Galadari is the ideal franchisee to bring the Jimmy John's experience to the Middle East,' said Inspire president and managing director of international Michael Haley. 'Their industry expertise, capabilities, and comprehensive understanding of the Middle East market, coupled with the strength and legacy of the Jimmy John's brand, will facilitate a successful launch and prolonged growth in the region.' Jimmy John's has yet to reveal any other potential summertime deals. However, fast food chains have begun offering new and returning items, along with limited-time deals. Sonic Drive-In fans can stop by participating locations this summer after 5pm and grab a half-price milkshake. Wendy's and Burger King are also preparing to drop major summer deals following McDonald's decision to extend its operating hours permanently. Other chains offering summer-filled items and specials include Starbucks, Dunkin', and Dairy Queen.
