BTS' 12th Anniversary: RM aka Kim Namjoon pens emotional letter for ARMYs, says 'I truly didn't this day would come'

BTS leader RM, also known as Kim Namjoon, is back and his heartfelt words on the group's 12th anniversary (June 13) are already resonating deeply with ARMY. Fresh off his military discharge on June 10, Namjoon shared a touching handwritten letter on Weverse just minutes after the clock struck midnight in South Korea, reflecting on the group's journey, his personal growth, and the long-awaited reunion just around the corner. Happy birthday, BTS: RM gets candid in new note RM began his letter with a warm 'Happy birthday, BTS,' acknowledging the emotional weight of June 13—also known as BTS' debut anniversary. 'Somehow, 613 has come around again,' he wrote. 'Last year's 613 was really not easy, and now 250613 has arrived. I have truly been waiting more than any of you.' The phrase '250613,' symbolizing June 13, 2025, marked a bittersweet full-circle moment—12 years since BTS first debuted. With a mix of humour and sentiment, he likened the group turning 12 to 'a nephew in my multiverse,' adding, 'I'm so glad you've grown up so well.' Sharing that June 13 also happens to be his younger sibling's birthday, RM revealed he spent time with family before sitting down to pen the letter, pressing hard enough to 'break the pencil lead.' A time to look back and ahead He referenced a book titled An Experiment in Accurate Love, reflecting on the challenge of giving and receiving love in a sincere and meaningful way—something he feels deeply with ARMY but continues to question. 'To be loved accurately and to love accurately. That seemingly impossible task, I've always wanted to achieve it.' The journey continues with you by his side The letter closes with RM inviting fans to continue walking this journey with him. 'Once again, I'm going to try to go somewhere, though I don't know where… I want to walk together with romance. Will you join me?' He poetically described moving forward like 'Huckleberry Finn,' pushing through exhaustion, insomnia, and confusion—all made bearable thanks to the fans. 'Thanks to you, I endured, and thanks to you, I stubbornly walked on.' Namjoon ended with a humble acknowledgment of his own flaws and gratitude: 'Becoming talkative is also a sign of clumsy love, so please look upon it kindly… We will truly try to do better once more. Thank you for giving us the opportunity. And I love you.' BTS reunion just days away RM's letter comes at a poignant time. With Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook, and RM all officially discharged, the only member still completing service is SUGA, whose discharge is scheduled for June 21. The full group reunion—something fans have waited nearly three years for—will finally become reality. As BTS prepares for its long-anticipated comeback, RM's words serve as both a love letter and a quiet promise: no matter how unclear the road ahead may seem, they're ready to walk it again—with ARMY right beside them. WTC Final: It means the world to me, says Sana Mir after ringing historic bell at Lord's

London: Ahead of day two's play in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final between Australia and South Africa at Lord's, former Pakistan captain Sana Mir had the honour to ring the historic bell, a moment which she described as 'means the world to me'. 'Lord's has so much history. It's the home of cricket and being here in this special time, getting the Hall of Fame and then this Test match final, I'm so honoured to be here and being part of all these historical rituals at Lord's, historical traditions, it means the world to me,' said Sana in a video on ICC's Instagram account on Thursday. Asked what was on her mind before going to ring the bell at Lord's, Sana stated, 'I mean I knew that ringing the Lord's bell is only once in a lifetime opportunity. So I made sure I get all the instructions and the instructions were to ring it five times. That makes sense because my shirt number was five, so I don't know, I'll have to see the replay.' Before the 2025 WTC final between reigning champions Australia and first-time finalists South Africa began on Wednesday, Sana had been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in a glittering ceremony held at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London. Apart from her, Hashim Amla, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Matthew Hayden, Graeme Smith, Sarah Taylor and Daniel Vettori were also inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. Sana had become Pakistan's captain at 23 and led them for seven years, including winning two Asian Games gold medals in 2010 and 2014. In her 15-year international career, she retired as her country's leading wicket-taker in ODI cricket – 151 wickets at an average of 24.27 in 120 matches. She also ended up as the second-highest wicket-taker for Pakistan in women's T20I cricket - 89 wickets at an average of 23.42 in 89 games. She also amassed 1,630 runs at an average of 17.91 in ODIs and 802 runs at an average of 14.07 in T20Is. Having started as a pace bowler, a stress fracture forced Sana to switch to off-spin. In October 2018 she became the first Pakistani woman to reach the summit of the ICC rankings when she was ranked at the top of the women's ODI bowlers table.

Javed Akhtar praises late singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's fearless pro-India stand in Pakistan: 'He was courageous'

Javed Akhtar praised Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's courage and talent, recalling their collaboration and Nusrat's bold remarks about India-Pakistan cultural ties. Despite controversy over his political views, Akhtar's admiration remains strong, honoring Nusrat's legacy and lamenting his untimely death before a major international breakthrough. Javed Akhtar has once more reflected on the enduring cultural ties between India and Pakistan . He warmly recalls his profound respect for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan , the iconic Pakistani qawwali legend, emphasizing the power of shared artistic heritage. Controversy and Unwavering Respect Earlier, Javed Akhtar received appreciation in India but faced backlash in Pakistan for openly criticizing Pakistan's history of providing refuge to those responsible for attacks like 26/11 during his visit to Lahore. Despite this, he firmly states that his admiration for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan remains "untarnished." While speaking on AajTak Radio, Akhtar shared a moving story from a music launch event in Delhi that revealed Nusrat's remarkable "candour and courage. " Javed's collaboration with Nusrat Javed openly admitted, 'I'm not a huge fan of qawwali as a genre, but I was a great admirer of Nusrat. He was a lovely man. We worked together on an album titled Sangam — I wrote it, he composed it." He fondly recalled an event at a luxury hotel in Delhi where Nusrat spoke to a full house, with officials from the Pakistan High Commission seated prominently in the front row. Nusrat's Bold Words to the Pakistan High Commission 'Nusrat was asked to say a few words. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Най-продаваните ежедневни обувки това лято – виж защо! I hang my head in shame when people ask me why my country hasn't hosted Lata Mangeshkar. I'm saying this here because I want the people from the Pakistan High Commission to pay attention,'" Javed recalled. Javed Akhtar showers praise Akhtar considered that incident as an extraordinary demonstration of courage. He remarked, 'It takes conviction, daring, and honesty to make such a statement. For me, as an Indian, it's not a big deal to say this. But for a Pakistani to say this on Indian soil and then return home — that's incredibly courageous." He went on to express his heartfelt admiration for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, saying, 'I have nothing but love and admiration for Nusrat. He died so young. He was on his way to America to sign a record deal with none other than Madonna. Who knows what more greatness he would have achieved had he lived longer."
