Oslo Stories Trilogy: Love review – gracefully grownup and breezy relationships drama
Andrea Braein Hovig plays Marianne, a urology consultant whose job it is to give bad news to a succession of men about their prostate cancer. She is single (though her past romantic life remains a mystery); her best friend, Heidi (Marte Engebrigtsen), tries to set her up with a divorced friend. But Marianne finds herself restive with the whole monolithic idea of dating and relationships and she is fascinated with what her nurse Tor (Tayo Cittadella Jacobsen) tells her about his own life. After work, she encounters him on their commuter ferry and he candidly tells her he uses Grindr to set up exciting, ephemeral encounters on this very craft.
But it is Tor who is to develop serious feelings for one of his hook-ups – a urology patient at the hospital – and Marianne who experiments with openness, which is to upset others who feel obscurely threatened. Perhaps some of the characters are a bit too good to be true, and Marianne's shrewd warning to Tor about immediately developing a 'nurse' relationship to a partner is something whose implications are not heeded. Haugerud has something of Eric Rohmer, and perhaps a little more of Hong Sang-soo; a readiness to simply talk, and talk and talk some more. It's surprisingly cinematic.

Gary Lineker is officially returning to TV – but in a radically different role from the one viewers have come to expect over the years. It comes as Match of the Day returns to screens tonight for its first episode since Lineker's departure, with Mark Chapman as host. The 64-year-old broadcaster and former footballer stepped down from the BBC earlier this year and presented his last Match of the Day episode in May. But after hosting the sport highlights show for 26 years, Lineker's next adventure is set to be radically different. Lineker is set to join ITV's new gameshow, The Box. According to ITV, 'The Box sees 10 celebrity contestants transported to unknown locations before being released to face whatever game awaits on the other side of the door'. The synopsis continues: 'Every episode will see them face surprising reveals, unique games, and a compelling series arc – as each week two players will face The Duel, a dramatic show finale, which will see the loser leaving the competition for good.' In a statement after his next project was confirmed, Lineker said: 'I can't wait to host The Box. I've always felt right at home in the box on a football pitch, and whilst this is a different proposition, the fundamentals are similar. 'The contestants will have to quickly and masterfully work out how each game works, whilst also trying to get ahead of the competition to take control.' On what viewers can expect, he teased: 'It's going to be unpredictable and thrilling to watch, and I'm excited that I get to have a front row seat to all the action.' Lineker's new show, which is set to air in the UK in 2026, has already been greenlit for a second season following the success of its Norwegian edition, which has spawned several versions in other countries. And it's certainly got UK viewers intrigued, who took to social media following its announcement to express their excitement. 'It'll be fantastic to see him back so quickly', wrote @acotswoldvoice of Lineker's return to screens. However, others admitted their fatigue over 'another gameshow' being added to the broadcasting schedule, meaning Lineker might have to graft to win over cynics. The former Everton and Barcelona player announced his exit from the BBC during the early months of 2025 after he shared a post to his Instagram Story from the Palestine Lobby group, titled 'Zionism explained in two minutes'. His repost included an illustration of a rat, which has historically been used as an antisemitic representation of Jewish people, most notably in Nazi Germany propaganda. Lineker later 'apologised unreservedly' and swiftly deleted the post from his account, saying he was unaware of the reference and that posting it had been a mistake. Touted as a possible successor to Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV after the Geordie duo put it on hiatus last year, The Box had apparently caused ITV to pursue Lineker for some time. The tabloid reported that ITV has been keen to snap up Lineker for some time and thinks this show, hailed as a mashup of I'm A Celebrity and SAS: Who Dares Wins, could be just the thing. A source told The Sun: 'The scheduling hasn't yet been confirmed, but filming takes place in the autumn, and the series is due to air early spring. 'It looks likely to get a Saturday night slot, though, but obviously it's all still to play for.' As well as Chapman, Gabby Logan and Kelly Cates will replace Lineker and share the presenting role on Match of the Day from the new Premier League season. Shock reason pop star Dannii Minogue has been spotted in her hometown of Melbourne - after living in the UK for 30 years
, who lived in the UK for 30 years, looked very sad on Thursday when she was spotted out and about in Melbourne. She could be seen taking comfort from young Aussie actor Harrison Popple as she fought back tears. But all was not as it seems, as the Australian pop star, 53, was in St Kilda filming scenes for her glamorous TV comeback on a new Channel 5 drama, Imposter. The singer, who moved back Down Under in 2021 to be closer to her family, proved she's still got what it takes to be a screen star, decades after she quit acting. While filming, the hitmaker was garbed in a summery dress with watercolour and horse detailing. She topped it with a baby blue trench-coat and matching wedge heels as she shot emotional scenes with her co-star. Dannii appeared overjoyed to be on-set, opting for a natural glam look as she left her tresses down in loose waves. In between takes, Dannii could be seen keeping warm in a fluffy pink robe and comfortable boots as she ran lines with Harrison. She made sure to stay hydrated, keeping a water bottle clutched in her manicured hands whenever she took a break. One scene saw the star looking morose as she sat down at a picnic table with her fellow actors. Dannii got her start as a small screen darling on Young Talent Time and Home and Away, but jetted off to London in the early '90s to pursue global fame. Three decades after she left acting behind, the superstar is set to return to screens in the four-part murder mystery Imposter. The Aussie star will share the screen with former Coronation Street UK favourite Kym Marsh and Neighbours legend Jackie Woodburne. Jackie, 69, looked almost unrecognisable from her Susan Kennedy days, now sporting a much more mature look with silver hair. Dannii was a vision in baby blue while on set The cast were spotted on set in Melbourne, with filming underway in St Kilda where the popular eatery Riva was dressed as O'Riley On The Pier Hotel for the production. Melbourne will host all the filming, with other Aussie TV stars, Don Hany and Jane Harber, also spotted on set. Imposter is said to be centred around a murder at a seaside resort. Jackie will play matriarch Helen, whose refusal to sell her seaside hotel sparks a dramatic family feud with her three adult children. The series marks Jackie's first non-Neighbours role in more than 30 years. The plot thickens when Amanda, played by Kym, arrives claiming to be Helen's long-lost daughter given up for adoption years ago. As Amanda integrates into the family, doubts arise about her true identity, leading to a gripping tale of deception and betrayal that culminates in murder. Jackie had played beloved Neighbours character Susan, the wife of co-star Alan Fletcher's character Dr Karl Kennedy, since 1994. Since leaving Home and Away in 1990, Dannii has had a successful career, starring on The X Factor and more recently fronting the dating show I Kissed A Boy.
