Cassie's Ex-Boyfriend Kid Cudi Claims Diddy Broke Into His House in 2011: ‘I Wanted to Fight Him'

Yahoo2 days ago

Kid Cudi recounted the alleged drama surrounding and their mutual ex-girlfriend, Cassie, when he took the stand in Diddy's sex trafficking trial. (Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.)
Cudi, 41, testified about his past with Diddy, 55, and Cassie, 38, at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse on Thursday, May 22, arriving in an unusually casual look that consisted of jeans, a T-shirt and a leather jacket.
The 'Day 'n' Nite' rapper began his testimony by saying that he thought Cassie was no longer seeing Diddy when he started dating her, telling the court, 'I didn't think that she was still diddling with him.' He recalled a day when Cassie called him in a panic to tell him that Diddy had learned of their romance. She had given Diddy Cudi's address and was worried that the music mogul might go to his house and confront him.
Cudi went on to claim that Cassie told him Diddy was 'abusive' during their relationship. After Diddy found out they were dating, Cudi took her to the Sunset Marquis hotel so she would be 'safe away from him.' Cudi told the court that Cassie was 'very stressed' and 'nervous' when he picked her up. While they were there, assistant Capricorn Clark, who worked for both Cudi and Diddy, called Cudi 'on the verge of tears' and told him Diddy 'and an affiliate' were at Cudi's house.

After that phone conversation, Cudi drove home and called Diddy on the way, asking him, 'Motherf***er, are you at my house?' Diddy allegedly seemed 'calm' and said he wanted to talk to him.
When Cudi arrived, he found that his exterior security cameras weren't working and one had been moved to a different angle. Inside the house, gifts for his family that had been on the kitchen counter were opened. His dog was 'locked up' in the bathroom, he claimed, adding that the pet was 'very on edge all the time' after the alleged incident.
'I wanted to confront him,' Cudi recalled of Diddy, adding that he called the police. 'I wanted to fight him.'
Later, after Cudi and Cassie had already broken up, his dog sitter called to tell him that his car was on fire. The jury was shown photos of the damaged car, which Cudi said couldn't be repaired. He reported the incident to police, telling the jury that his honest reaction to the burned car was, 'What the f***?'
Following the car incident, Cudi allegedly met up with Diddy at the Soho House in Los Angeles. 'Sean Combs was standing there with his hands behind his back like a Marvel supervillain,' Cudi claimed, adding that his fellow rapper said they were 'homies' and said he didn't understand why Cudi would date Cassie. 'He kept offering me water. It was weird that he was so calm,' Cudi continued, noting that he found Diddy's demeanor 'off-putting.'
Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Ex-Girlfriend Cassie's Relationship Timeline
When Cudi asked him about the car, Diddy allegedly gave him a 'very cold stare' and replied, 'I don't know what you're talking about.' Cudi said he then rescinded his offer of a handshake and left.
Years later, the two men had a second meeting at Soho House, where Diddy allegedly told Cudi he was sorry for the past. 'Man, I just want to apologize for everything, all that bulls***,' Cudi recalled Diddy saying, adding that the Sean John founder brought one of his daughters to the meeting.
'After that apology, I kind of came to peace with all of it,' Cudi told the court. 'That's the last thing I was expecting to get.'
In his cross-examination, Cudi told defense attorney Brian Steel that there was no damage to his home during the 2011 break-in and said the house had been unlocked, so there were no signs of forced entry. He also noted he never saw Diddy get violent with Cassie and claimed his ex-girlfriend never disclosed any sexual abuse to him.
Steel went on to ask Cudi about his meeting with Diddy, and the 'Pursuit of Happiness' rapper said the two men agreed that Cassie misled them about being single. Cudi further alleged there was never any movement from the police about his report on the blown-up car, but Steel claimed the DNA on the car came back as having come from a female.
During redirect questioning, Cudi told the prosecution that Cassie told him Diddy 'would hit her' and 'sometimes kick her,' adding that she was 'really shook' when they broke up.

'The drama, it just became out of hand,' he recalled of their split. 'I just wanted to give it space. Things were getting out of hand. For my safety, for her safety, I just stopped.'
When asked why he had safety concerns, Cudi replied, 'I knew Sean Combs was violent.' As for his understanding of Diddy telling him he didn't know about the car bombing, Cudi felt that 'he was lying.'
Cassie dated Cudi during a break from her relationship with Diddy, whom she was with on and off from 2007 to 2018. Cassie (full name Casandra Ventura) has since moved on with Alex Fine, whom she married in August 2019. The couple share daughters Frankie, 5, and Sunny, 4, and are expecting their third baby. Cudi, for his part, announced his engagement to Lola Abecassis Sartore in April 2024 and is the father of daughter Vada, 15.
Following his September 2024 arrest, Diddy is on trial for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and denied all of the allegations against him.
In her own testimony earlier this month, Cassie claimed that Diddy found out about her romance with Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi) in 2011 when he searched through her emails during a 'freak off' and found a correspondence between her and Cudi's team about bringing a toiletry bag to a house. Cassie alleged that Diddy subsequently lunged at her with a 'wine bottle opener.'
According to Cassie, she ran away and called Cudi from her burner phone to ask him to pick her up. Cudi took her to his house in the Hills, but when she later returned to a hotel room she was staying in, it had been trashed, with urine and feces allegedly located in the bathroom and the furniture in disarray.
A Timeline of Diddy's Legal Troubles and Accusations: From Cassie Lawsuit to Multiple Arrests
Cassie testified that Diddy 'was going to hurt Scott and I,' claiming that he also threatened to release two explicit videos of her from a freak off. She ultimately broke up with Cudi after receiving the alleged threats from Diddy.
'Too much danger, too much uncertainty of what could happen if we continued to see each other,' she said on the stand.
Cassie also claimed that Diddy threatened to blow up Cudi's car and wanted Cudi's friends to be there to witness it.
After Cassie and Cudi's split, Cudi allegedly met with his ex and Diddy to discuss his car, which was set on fire by an 'incendiary device' in January 2012, per a Los Angeles City Fire Department report obtained by Rolling Stone.
'What about my vehicle?' Cudi asked, according to Cassie's testimony. 'What vehicle?' Combs allegedly replied.
'And that was the end of the meeting,' Cassie said.
Cassie previously filed a lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023, accusing him of physical abuse and sexual assault during their relationship. The court papers mentioned the allegations that Diddy threatened to firebomb Cudi's car. Diddy denied Cassie's claims at the time, and the case was settled out of court one day after it was filed.

Billy Bush says Diddy's alleged balcony incident echoes 'sick' behavior in hit TV show

Jurors in Sean "Diddy" Combs' federal trial heard testimony this week about Cassie Ventura's friend allegedly being dangled off a balcony at the hands of the rapper. The explosive testimony echoed similarities between Diddy and one of television's greatest hits, "The Sopranos," according to Billy Bush. The "Hot Mics with Billy Bush" podcast host exclusively told Fox News Digital that Diddy's violent history may have been on display, but that doesn't necessarily equate to a guilty verdict. Cassie Ventura's friend, Bryana "Bana" Bongolan, testified this week that Diddy held her over the edge of a 17-story balcony in 2016. While on the stand Wednesday, Bongolan confirmed she spoke about the incident during various government meetings. Bongolan said Diddy was yelling at her loudly, "You know what the f--- you did." She testified that to this day she doesn't know what the rapper was referring to. "Her allegations are that he hung her over a balcony, which is like, what are you watching too much 'Sopranos' here?" Bush said. "Like, this is such mafia sick s--t. It's, I can't believe it, but it reminds me of like when Michael Jackson had "Blanket" over the balcony in some Rome or Paris hotel (sic). And then Suge Knight hung Vanilla Ice over the balcony." In a 1999 episode of "Behind the Music," Vanilla Ice clarified that the balcony allegations against Suge Knight were unfounded. "He didn't hang me off from any balcony," the rapper said. "The story's been kind of blown out of proportion, and I want to clarify that Suge and I have no bad feelings towards each other." "It's the ultimate, like, it's the ultimate gangster move," Bush added of Bongolan's allegations against Diddy. "Who makes that up? I mean, he clearly did, and it's sick. So I think it was helpful as far as painting him as extremely violent." Bush continued, "I still don't know if Diddy is a sealed, done deal. He's not arguing that he's a domestic violence perpetrator and general bad dude." Allegations about the incident were detailed in a November 2024 lawsuit Bongolan filed against Diddy where she requested $10 million in damages. Bongolan filed the lawsuit to "seek justice for what happened to me," she told the court. She said her lawyer wrote the complaint and that the words were not the same as what she had testified to. Her recollection of the events that night were marred, according to Diddy's lawyers. Nicole Westmoreland, a Diddy defense attorney, asked Bongolan several questions about Cassie's 29th birthday. Bongolan replied, "I don't remember" to most of the questions, which included if she was on drugs. She later told Westmoreland that she couldn't remember telling the government if the incident happened at a party or if they were just hanging out. "Drug use is not great for memory, and we're dealing with a marginalized character here," Bush said. "At the end of the day, I don't think the drug use thing is a big shocker to anyone on the jury … and you know, Diddy definitely partied with the drugs." WATCH: BILLY BUSH LIKENS DIDDY ALLEGATIONS TO MAFIA TACTICS He added, "I don't think that is going to come into account at all. It's just the actions of what happened. They don't excuse his actions. And I don't think that they discount her claims either. I really don't." In a federal indictment unsealed on Sept. 17, Diddy was charged with racketeering conspiracy (RICO); sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution. If found guilty, he faces a minimum of 15 years behind bars or a maximum sentence of life in prison. He has maintained his innocence throughout the trial, in which witnesses have testified to alleged rape, sexual assault, severe physical abuse, forced labor and drug trafficking. The trial is expected to wrap by July 4. During the opening statements of Diddy's trial, defense attorney Teny Geragos asked the jury to consider the federal charges, not the choices of an at-times violent man. "Sean Combs is a complicated man, but this is not a complicated case," Geragos told the court. "This case is about love, jealousy, infidelity and money. This case is about voluntary adult choices made by capable adults and consensual relationships. This case is about those real-life relationships, and the government is trying to turn those relationships into a racketeering case, a prostitution case and a sex trafficking case. It will not work." Geragos told the jury that they would hear the "basics" through the lens of various witnesses and evidence. Most importantly, though, jurors would get the opportunity to "finally" hear the facts about the case. "I say that because this case is not about what you've heard on the news, read in the news or have seen on social media for the past year and a half," Geragos said. "This case is not about what civil attorneys looking for a payday are trying to make my client out to be. There has been a tremendous amount of noise around this case for the past year, and it is time to cancel that noise and hear and see the evidence that will be presented in this courtroom." She noted that Diddy "has a bad temper" and at times gets "so angry or so jealous that he is out of control," but she emphasized that the "Victory" rapper was not charged with "being mean." "He is not charged with being a jerk. He's charged with running a racketeering enterprise," Geragos told the jury. "And though there was violence that you are going to hear about, you already have, that violence is not part of any RICO. That violence is not connected to sex trafficking and that violence is not prostitution."

Madame Web star Dakota Johnson says the Marvel movie "started out as something and turned into something else," but she's not bothered that it flopped: "Who cares?"

Madame Web star Dakota Johnson thinks she knows why the Sony Marvel movie flopped, but she's not really that fussed about it. The Spider-Man spin-off was a critical and commercial failure, earning only $100.5 million at the worldwide box office and garnering a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of just 11%. "There's this thing that happens now where a lot of creative decisions are made by committee," Johnson told the LA Times. "Or made by people who don't have a creative bone in their body. And it's really hard to make art that way. Or to make something entertaining that way. And I think unfortunately with Madame Web, it started out as something and turned into something else. And I was just sort of along for the ride at that point. But that happens. Bigger-budget movies fail all the time. "I don't have a Band-Aid over it," she added. "There's no part of me that's like, 'Oh, I'll never do that again' to anything. I've done even tiny movies that didn't do well. Who cares?" Madame Web was also heavily memed, just like another Sony Marvel movie that infamously flopped, Morbius. "If it wasn't for internet culture and everything being made into a joke, I think that the reception would've been different," Madame Web star Emma Roberts said of the film's reception. "And that's what bums me out about a lot of stuff, even stuff that I've done, is people just make such a joke out of everything now."
