Cassie's Ex-Boyfriend Kid Cudi Claims Diddy Broke Into His House in 2011: ‘I Wanted to Fight Him'
Kid Cudi recounted the alleged drama surrounding and their mutual ex-girlfriend, Cassie, when he took the stand in Diddy's sex trafficking trial. (Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.) Cudi, 41, testified about his past with Diddy, 55, and Cassie, 38, at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse on Thursday, May 22, arriving in an unusually casual look that consisted of jeans, a T-shirt and a leather jacket. The 'Day 'n' Nite' rapper began his testimony by saying that he thought Cassie was no longer seeing Diddy when he started dating her, telling the court, 'I didn't think that she was still diddling with him.' He recalled a day when Cassie called him in a panic to tell him that Diddy had learned of their romance. She had given Diddy Cudi's address and was worried that the music mogul might go to his house and confront him. Cudi went on to claim that Cassie told him Diddy was 'abusive' during their relationship. After Diddy found out they were dating, Cudi took her to the Sunset Marquis hotel so she would be 'safe away from him.' Cudi told the court that Cassie was 'very stressed' and 'nervous' when he picked her up. While they were there, assistant Capricorn Clark, who worked for both Cudi and Diddy, called Cudi 'on the verge of tears' and told him Diddy 'and an affiliate' were at Cudi's house. Every Celebrity Mentioned During the Diddy Trial: Kanye West, Michael B. Jordan and More After that phone conversation, Cudi drove home and called Diddy on the way, asking him, 'Motherf***er, are you at my house?' Diddy allegedly seemed 'calm' and said he wanted to talk to him. When Cudi arrived, he found that his exterior security cameras weren't working and one had been moved to a different angle. Inside the house, gifts for his family that had been on the kitchen counter were opened. His dog was 'locked up' in the bathroom, he claimed, adding that the pet was 'very on edge all the time' after the alleged incident. 'I wanted to confront him,' Cudi recalled of Diddy, adding that he called the police. 'I wanted to fight him.' Later, after Cudi and Cassie had already broken up, his dog sitter called to tell him that his car was on fire. The jury was shown photos of the damaged car, which Cudi said couldn't be repaired. He reported the incident to police, telling the jury that his honest reaction to the burned car was, 'What the f***?' Following the car incident, Cudi allegedly met up with Diddy at the Soho House in Los Angeles. 'Sean Combs was standing there with his hands behind his back like a Marvel supervillain,' Cudi claimed, adding that his fellow rapper said they were 'homies' and said he didn't understand why Cudi would date Cassie. 'He kept offering me water. It was weird that he was so calm,' Cudi continued, noting that he found Diddy's demeanor 'off-putting.' Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Ex-Girlfriend Cassie's Relationship Timeline When Cudi asked him about the car, Diddy allegedly gave him a 'very cold stare' and replied, 'I don't know what you're talking about.' Cudi said he then rescinded his offer of a handshake and left. Years later, the two men had a second meeting at Soho House, where Diddy allegedly told Cudi he was sorry for the past. 'Man, I just want to apologize for everything, all that bulls***,' Cudi recalled Diddy saying, adding that the Sean John founder brought one of his daughters to the meeting. 'After that apology, I kind of came to peace with all of it,' Cudi told the court. 'That's the last thing I was expecting to get.' In his cross-examination, Cudi told defense attorney Brian Steel that there was no damage to his home during the 2011 break-in and said the house had been unlocked, so there were no signs of forced entry. He also noted he never saw Diddy get violent with Cassie and claimed his ex-girlfriend never disclosed any sexual abuse to him. Steel went on to ask Cudi about his meeting with Diddy, and the 'Pursuit of Happiness' rapper said the two men agreed that Cassie misled them about being single. Cudi further alleged there was never any movement from the police about his report on the blown-up car, but Steel claimed the DNA on the car came back as having come from a female. During redirect questioning, Cudi told the prosecution that Cassie told him Diddy 'would hit her' and 'sometimes kick her,' adding that she was 'really shook' when they broke up. Why Kid Cudi's Dog Is a Point of Contention at Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Sex Trafficking Trial 'The drama, it just became out of hand,' he recalled of their split. 'I just wanted to give it space. Things were getting out of hand. For my safety, for her safety, I just stopped.' When asked why he had safety concerns, Cudi replied, 'I knew Sean Combs was violent.' As for his understanding of Diddy telling him he didn't know about the car bombing, Cudi felt that 'he was lying.' Cassie dated Cudi during a break from her relationship with Diddy, whom she was with on and off from 2007 to 2018. Cassie (full name Casandra Ventura) has since moved on with Alex Fine, whom she married in August 2019. The couple share daughters Frankie, 5, and Sunny, 4, and are expecting their third baby. Cudi, for his part, announced his engagement to Lola Abecassis Sartore in April 2024 and is the father of daughter Vada, 15. Following his September 2024 arrest, Diddy is on trial for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and denied all of the allegations against him. In her own testimony earlier this month, Cassie claimed that Diddy found out about her romance with Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi) in 2011 when he searched through her emails during a 'freak off' and found a correspondence between her and Cudi's team about bringing a toiletry bag to a house. Cassie alleged that Diddy subsequently lunged at her with a 'wine bottle opener.' According to Cassie, she ran away and called Cudi from her burner phone to ask him to pick her up. Cudi took her to his house in the Hills, but when she later returned to a hotel room she was staying in, it had been trashed, with urine and feces allegedly located in the bathroom and the furniture in disarray. A Timeline of Diddy's Legal Troubles and Accusations: From Cassie Lawsuit to Multiple Arrests Cassie testified that Diddy 'was going to hurt Scott and I,' claiming that he also threatened to release two explicit videos of her from a freak off. She ultimately broke up with Cudi after receiving the alleged threats from Diddy. 'Too much danger, too much uncertainty of what could happen if we continued to see each other,' she said on the stand. Cassie also claimed that Diddy threatened to blow up Cudi's car and wanted Cudi's friends to be there to witness it. After Cassie and Cudi's split, Cudi allegedly met with his ex and Diddy to discuss his car, which was set on fire by an 'incendiary device' in January 2012, per a Los Angeles City Fire Department report obtained by Rolling Stone. 'What about my vehicle?' Cudi asked, according to Cassie's testimony. 'What vehicle?' Combs allegedly replied. 'And that was the end of the meeting,' Cassie said. Cassie previously filed a lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023, accusing him of physical abuse and sexual assault during their relationship. The court papers mentioned the allegations that Diddy threatened to firebomb Cudi's car. Diddy denied Cassie's claims at the time, and the case was settled out of court one day after it was filed. Kid Cudi Testifies at Sean "Diddy" Combs Trial
Yara Sameh Scott Mescudi, the rapper and actor better known as Kid Cudi, took the stand as a witness during Sean 'Diddy' Combs' sex trafficking trial on Thursday, recounting his relationship with Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura and Combs' alleged acts of retaliation. Mescudi appeared in the New York courthouse dressed in jeans, a leather jacket and a white T-shirt. Prosecutors began by asking him about his relationship with Ventura. 'We were friends and dated briefly,' he responded, noting that his understanding at the time was that 'she and Sean Combs had some problems and they weren't dating' when they began seeing each other in 2011. That December, Ventura called Mescudi and told him that Combs had found out about their relationship. She sounded 'stressed, nervous and scared,' and Cudi went to pick her up. 'I didn't think she was still dealing with him,' he said. Ventura had told him that Combs was 'abusive,' and that 'she didn't know what [he] would do.' Mescudi picked her up and drove her to the Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood, where he and Ventura received a call from Combs' employee Capricorn Clark, who Mescudi said was 'scared' and 'on the verge of tears.' Clark told them that Combs was at Mescudi's home in the Hollywood Hills, so Mescudi drove home. On the way there, he called Combs, recalling that he asked him, 'Motherfucker, are you in my house?' Combs responded, 'I just want to talk to you.' When Mescudi arrived, no one was home, but he could tell there had been a break-in. The Chanel gifts that he had bought for his family for Christmas had been opened, and his dog was locked in the bathroom, which was unusual since he usually let the dog roam around the house. The dog was 'very jittery, on edge all the time' when he let him out. Mescudi got back into his car and called Combs again. 'I wanted to confront him, I wanted to fight him,' Mescudi said. After giving it some thought, Mescudi called the police because he didn't know what Combs' 'intentions' were. He spoke to the cops and made a report about the break-in. Later in December, Mescudi spent the holidays with Ventura's family in Connecticut. Combs had texted him around this time, and suggested that he wanted to speak with him. Mescudi said he responded, 'You broke into my house, you messed with my dog, I don't want to talk with you.' Mescudi's relationship with Ventura ended after the holidays, as 'the drama was just getting out of hand,' according to Mescudi. One day in January 2012, Mescudi was in Los Angeles when he received a call from his dog sitter, who was at his home at 6:30 in the morning. The sitter told him that his car was on fire, and Mescudi returned home to see the damage. Photos of the car were shown in court, with smoke damage to the doors and a hole cut in the roof of his convertible. A Molotov cocktail was found near the car. Though there was no clear connection between Combs and the incident, it has been speculated on the witness stand that Combs orchestrated the explosion. Earlier in the trial, prosecutors displayed a December 2011 email from Ventura in which she wrote Combs 'said that he will be having someone hurt me and [Mescudi] physically. He made a point that it wouldn't be by his hand, he actually said he'd be out of the country when it happened.' The day after Mescudi's car was set on fire, he met with Combs and Ventura at the Soho House in L.A. Mescudi described Combs' demeanor as 'calm,' which was 'off-putting.' At the end of the meeting, as Combs and Mescudi shook hands, Mescudi asked, 'So what are we going to do about my car?,' to which Combs responded, 'I don't know what you're talking about.' Asked how he interpreted Combs' words, Mescudi said, 'He was lying.' The next time Mescudi saw Combs was a few years later, when they bumped into each other at the very same Soho House. Combs approached Mescudi and said, 'I just wanted to apologize for all the bullshit,' Mescudi remembers. He said the general apology was 'the last thing I was expecting' from Combs, and he 'made peace' with the situation. Questioned about why he and Ventura ended their relationship despite having feelings for each other, Mescudi told the court they broke up 'for my safety, for her safety.' Asked to elaborate on his safety concerns, Mescudi said, 'I knew Sean Combs was violent.' During his cross-examination, Mescudi said he did not personally witness Combs abuse Ventura, nor did Combs ever threaten him directly. Mescudi is not the only celebrity suitor to be mentioned in Combs' trial. During her testimony, Ventura mentioned a brief fling with 'Sinners' star Michael B. Jordan in 2016. Ventura's then-best friend Kerry Morgan testified that Ventura and Jordan 'hung out together' and Combs 'was jealous of it.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies

Kid Cudi admits Cassie Ventura ‘played' him, in his action-packed Diddy trial testimony
Rapper and actor Scott Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi, took the witness stand Thursday in the sex trafficking trial of Sean 'Diddy' Combs, providing testimony about his relationship with R&B singer Cassie Ventura and incidents he alleges involved Combs. Mescudi, dressed casually in jeans, a leather jacket, and a white T-shirt, told the Manhattan federal court that he met Cassie in 2008 and briefly dated her in 2011. At the time, he believed Cassie and Combs, her former boyfriend, were no longer involved. 'She and Sean Combs had some problems and they weren't dating anymore,' he said. According to Mescudi, in late 2011, Cassie called him in distress, saying Combs had discovered their relationship. 'She sounded really stressed, nervous, scared,' he recalled. Mescudi said he went to pick her up and took her to the Sunset Marquis hotel in West Hollywood to keep her 'off the radar' and away from Combs. While there, he received a call from Combs' assistant Capricorn Clark, who was 'on the verge of tears' and reported that Combs and an associate had entered Mescudi's Hollywood Hills home without permission. Mescudi said he immediately drove home, calling Combs on the way. He asked, 'Motherf***er, are you in my house?' Combs calmly replied, 'I want to talk to you.' Upon arrival, Mescudi found evidence of a break-in: Christmas gifts he had purchased were opened, and his dog was locked in a bathroom. He described his dog as 'very jittery' after being confined. Uncertain about Combs' intentions, Mescudi contacted the police and filed a report. Weeks later, Mescudi testified that his Porsche 911 convertible was set on fire while parked at his home. Photos displayed in court showed significant damage to the car's fabric roof and a Molotov cocktail discovered inside. Though no direct evidence linked Combs to the arson, prosecutors highlighted an email from Cassie stating that Combs threatened harm against Mescudi and herself. The following day, Mescudi met with Combs and Cassie at the Soho House hotel in Los Angeles in an attempt to resolve tensions. He described Combs as 'calm' but 'off-putting,' comparing his posture to a 'Marvel supervillain.' When Mescudi confronted Combs about the car fire, Combs denied any involvement, responding with a 'cold stare' and saying, 'I don't know what you're talking about.' Mescudi testified that despite his suspicions, he eventually made peace with the situation. Several years later, the two unexpectedly crossed paths again at the same hotel, where Combs offered an apology for 'all the bullsh#t,' which Mescudi accepted. Under cross-examination, Combs' lawyer Brian Steel questioned Mescudi's account and portrayed Cassie as living a 'double life,' suggesting she had misled both men about her relationships. Mescudi acknowledged Cassie had not been honest about still seeing Combs while dating him and said he felt 'played' by her. The trial continues as prosecutors present further allegations of abuse and retaliation tied to Combs, who denies all charges. Cassie Ventura's prior testimony detailed alleged years of abuse during her decade-long relationship with Combs.

Kid Cudi Testifies in Diddy Trial
Scott 'Kid Cudi' Mescudi, May 2025 (Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images) On Thursday, May 22, Kid Cudi took the witness stand in the federal sex trafficking trial against Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, was briefly in a relationship with Casandra Elizabeth 'Cassie' Ventura, Diddy's former partner, in 2011 that angered Diddy to the point of allegedly retaliating by blowing up Cudi's car the following year. The racketeering conspiracy charge against Diddy accuses him of running a criminal enterprise for two decades, and this moment—Diddy's associates setting fire to Cudi's Porsche by cutting open the convertible top and dropping a Molotov cocktail inside—plays a key role in the case against the hip-hop musician and mogul. After Cassie filed her initial lawsuit in 2023 that began Diddy's legal spiral, Cudi, via a lawyer, confirmed that her recounting of his car's explosion in February 2012 was 'true.' Today's appearance on the stand will mark Cudi's first public discussion of the incident and his role in the case. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges against him. His lawyers argue that he was 'simply not involved' in the arson allegations in particular. While on the stand today, Cudi clarified the timeline during which he and Cassie began seeing each other in 2011. 'We were friends and dated briefly,' said Cudi. 'She and Sean Combs had some problems and they weren't dating.' In December 2011, Cassie called Cudi early one morning to inform him that Diddy learned about their relationship and that he was 'abusive' and 'she didn't know what [he] would do,' said Cudi. He drove over to pick her up and bring her to the Sunset Marquis, a boutique hotel in Los Angeles. Cudi claims that Capricorn Clark, one of Diddy's staff members, called him while she was 'on the verge of tears' to inform him that Diddy was at his Hollywood Hills home. Cudi immediately drove home and called Diddy, asking, 'Motherfucker, are you in my house?' to which Diddy allegedly replied, 'I just want to talk to you.' When Cudi arrived, his house was reportedly in disarray as if there was a break-in, the security cameras had been moved and didn't work, Chanel gifts he purchased for his family were opened, and his dog was locked in the bathroom and 'very jittery.' Cudi alleges that he called Diddy immediately because 'I wanted to confront him, I wanted to fight him,' but ultimately decided to call the police and filed a report over the break-in. While spending the holidays when Cassie's family in Connecticut, Cudi allegedly received a text message from Diddy asking to speak with him. 'You broke into my house, you messed with my dog, I don't want to talk with you,' Cudi allegedly replied. He said the relationship with Cassie ended shortly afterwards. In January 2012, Cudi was in Los Angeles when he received a call from his dog sitter, who was at his house around 6:30 a.m., he claims. The sitter allegedly told Cudi that his car, a Porsche convertible, was on fire, and he returned home to see the damage himself. Photos of Cudi's car were then shown in court, with smoke damage to the car doors and a hole cut into the roof of his convertible clearly visible. A photograph of a Molotov cocktail found near the car was also shown. Cassie alleged that Diddy learned of her seeing Cudi while he was looking through her phone at the site of a 'freak-off'—the lengthy sex marathons with male prostitutes that are at the center of this case—and he lunged at her with a wine bottle opener. Later that day, Diddy threatened to release sexually explicit videos of Cassie in retaliation, she claims. 'He was just so angry, and when I was in the room, he told me about videos that he had that he was going to release, and how he was going to hurt Scott and I,' Cassie testified. She went on to specify that Diddy threatened that Cudi's car would be 'blown up' in his driveway. Cassie claims she ended the relationship with Cudi because she was afraid of what Diddy might do next. The three artists met at the Soho House in Los Angeles to discuss the relationship, during which they alluded to the damaged car, according to separate testimonies from both Cassie and Cudi. '[Diddy] was standing there like a Marvel super villain,' recounted Cudi. '[He] offered me water twice. It was weird, Sean Combs being so calm.' After Cudi asked about his car, he claims Diddy replied, 'I don't know what you are talking about.' During her time on the stand, Cassie described a similar exchange: 'Scott said, 'What about my vehicle?' And Sean said, 'What vehicle?' And that was the end of the meeting.' Cudi's testimony followed four days of questioning of Cassie, and the ensuing testimony of his former collaborator Dawn Richard, both of whom claimed that Diddy verbally and physically abused them. Richard worked alongside Diddy on the Making the Band reality show for several years and in the groups Danity Kane and Diddy - Dirty Money. In that time, she alleges that Diddy verbally and physically abused her—allegations outlined in a separate lawsuit filed last year. During her four-day testimony in the opening week of trial, Cassie shared explicit details about the 'freak-offs' at the center of the prosecution's case. 'It basically entails the hiring of an escort and setting up this experience so that I could perform for Sean,' sometimes for as long as four days, she said, and explained how Diddy directed her to hire the escorts herself. 'The freak-offs became a job where there was no space to do anything else but to recover and just try to feel normal again.' Following the conclusion of her testimony, both Cassie and her husband, Alex Fine, released statements on the trial via her attorney Douglas H. Wigdor. 'This week has been extremely challenging, but also remarkably empowering and healing for me. I hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors, and can help others who have suffered to speak up and also heal from abuse and fear,' Cassie shared via Wigdor. On Fine's behalf, he said 'Cassie saved Cassie. She alone broke free from abuse, coercion, violence, and threats. She did the work of fighting the demons that only a demon himself could have done to her.' Kid Cudi says Diddy broke into his home, unwrapped his family's Christmas gifts, and shut his dog in the bathroom
Rapper Kid Cudi told a Manhattan federal jury on Thursday that Sean "Diddy" Combs broke into his Los Angeles home after the hip-hop mogul found out he was dating R&B singer Cassie Ventura. Christmas gifts from Chanel that Kid Cudi had gotten for his family were unwrapped, and his dog was shut in the bathroom during the December 2011 break-in, he testified at Combs' sex-trafficking and racketeering trial. Kid Cudi, whose given name is Scott Mescudi, was called as a government witness in the high-profile criminal trial that's now in its second week. Earlier that day, Mescudi found out Combs was outside his home after Mescudi had spent a night with Ventura at the Sunset Marquis hotel, he testified. "Motherfucker, you in my house?" Mescudi recalled telling Combs over the phone as he rushed over to his home in the Hollywood Hills. "He said he wants to talk to me," Mescudi said of Combs. "I said I'm on my way over right now." "And he said I'm over here waiting for you," Mescudi told the jury, adding that Combs sounded "calm." Mescudi added, "I wanted to confront him, I wanted to fight him," but he wondered whether Combs would be alone for any actual confrontation. Once he got home, Combs was nowhere to be found, Mescudi said. "Some gifts that I had brought for my family had been opened," Mescudi testified. "And then my dog was in my bathroom." He said his dog was acting "very jittery." Mescudi said he reported the break-in to the police. Mescudi and Ventura — the prosecution's star witness in Combs' trial — briefly dated while Ventura was on a break from Combs. Ventura and Combs dated on and off between 2007 and 2018. After the ordeal, Mescudi told jurors that Combs reached out to him a couple of times. "I guess he was in the dark about things and wanted to talk," Mescudi said. But Mescudi said he told Combs, "You broke into my house, you messed with my dog, I don't want to talk to you." During Ventura's more than 20 hours of testimony last week, she told the eight-man, four-woman jury how her 2011 romance with Mescudi enraged Combs. Combs learned about the relationship during one of his drug-fueled sex performances that he called "freak offs". Combs went through Ventura's phone, and realized she'd been paying visits to the "Pursuit of Happiness" rapper, she testified. "I just remember him putting like a wine bottle opener between his fingers and, like, lunging at me," Ventura said, adding that Combs' "eyes blacked out, super angry." When Ventura saw Combs at his Los Angeles home later that day she said he was "irate" and threatened to release explicit freak-off videos of her — and to physically "hurt Scott and I." She said Combs kicked her in the back, sending her flying to the ground, as she turned to walk out on him. Ventura also testified that Combs threatened to blow up Kid Cudi's car when they were out of the country. "Sean wanted Scott's friends to be there to see the car get blown up in the driveway," she testified. Mescudi testified on Thursday that his Porsche had been firebombed in February 2012 while it was parked in his driveway. "Looks like the top of my Porsche was cut open. That's where they inserted the Molotov cocktail," Mescudi told jurors as they were shown photos of his torched vehicle. Ventura's 2023 now-settled lawsuit against Combs first suggested that Combs was responsible for the 2012 firebombing. Prosecutors have alleged that Combs previously ordered his underlings to torch a car using a Molotov cocktail. Combs faces up to life in prison if convicted of the sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges against him. Prosecutors allege that for two decades, Combs led a "criminal enterprise" that involved the sex trafficking of Ventura and another woman.
