Walmart store partially reopens after deadly shooting in Covington
It's been 24 hours since a Walmart employee went on a shooting spree at a supercenter in Covington.
The store off Salem Road partially opened its doors on Saturday, allowing patrons to pick up prescriptions from the pharmacy.
Many customers were turned away, unaware that a deadly shooting had occurred just hours earlier.
One customer shared their shock but said the incident wouldn't stop them from shopping at the location, saying, 'I think that this was an isolated incident.'
A spokesman with the Newton County Sheriff's Office said Friday that Walmart employee Dwayne Eduh grabbed a gun from his car around 1:30 a.m. on Friday.
Authorities said he killed 21-year-old Khalaf Barksdale inside the store. While leaving the store, Eduh shot and critically injured Ryan Bradley, another coworker, investigators said.
Law enforcement officials said Eduh then went to a nearby home on Emerson Trail and killed Akeela Clarke, 19, who also worked at Walmart.

The suspect later shot himself after traveling east on Interstate 20 and into South Carolina. The sheriff's office said he was critically injured.
Akeela Clarke's mother, Samantha Clarke, was there when her daughter was shot.
Channel 2 Action News received the following statement from Walmart's corporate offices on Friday morning:
'We're heartbroken by what's happened. There's no place for violence in our stores. We're focused on taking care of our associates and supporting law enforcement with their investigation.'
The Newton County Sheriff's Office said only employees were inside the store at the time of the shooting.

New retail theft task force makes first arrest in Ohio
(WKBN) – A new task force in Ohio aimed at cutting down organized retail theft made its first arrest. Read next: Fugitive of the Week known to be in local area A man and woman from the Toledo area were arrested in May following a tip from a Walmart there about gift card theft. An investigation revealed that the pair bought gift cards with credit card information from a victim in Florida. When they were arrested, police found multiple gift cards and also seized a laptop and several other payment cards. These types of crimes, along with organized groups stealing large amounts of merchandise, are being targeted by the Ohio Regional Retail Crime Task Force through the recently enacted Fight Organized Retail Crime and Empower Law Enforcement Act, which targets theft rings with stiffer criminal penalties. The law creates a new felony offense of organized retail theft, with penalties escalating based on the value of the stolen merchandise. It also enhances penalties for repeat offenders, setting a minimum fourth-degree felony charge for thefts committed by individuals who have a felony theft conviction within the previous three years. Attorney General Dave Yost says Ohio businesses lose upwards of $2 to $3 billion annually in organized retail theft. The task force works with law enforcement statewide. 2 young children left in hot vehicle at Cumberland Mall, sheriff's office says; father arrested
Officers broke into a hot vehicle at Cumberland Mall on Wednesday to save two young children, the Cobb County Sheriff's Office said. Police responded to the mall parking lot at around 12:56 p.m. after a 911 caller said they saw the young children in a vehicle without any adults nearby.
