‘May not tie rakhi…': Andhra woman dies by suicide, leaves behind emotional note for brother
Srividya, who worked as a college professor, took the extreme step just six months into her marriage with Rambabu, a village surveyor, reported NDTV.
In the note, Srividya devastatingly wrote, "Be careful, little brother. This time, I may not be able to tie Rakhi on you," the report added.
Srividya said that her husband started harassing her just a month into their marriage and that she was subjected to brutal domestic abuse.
Detailing her ordeal in the letter, Srividya said that Rambabu would come home drunk, abuse her verbally, and even beat her. He would slam her head against the bed and even punch her, she said, adding that he would also call her 'useless' and mock her in front of others, the report added.
Unable to bear the continued torture, Srividya reportedly decided to take the extreme step. The police have started an investigation into this matter.

A 20-year-old woman reportedly died by suicide at her residence in Delhi on Saturday, according to the police. The incident happened in the national capital's IGI Camp in Sunlight Colony.
The police said that the woman was found dead inside the house, while her husband and family members were away.
In a video found on her phone, the woman blamed her husband and in-laws for the extreme step, alleging they would beat her over petty issues. She added in the video that their wedding anniversary was coming up, and the in-laws harassed her, as he had married her against their wishes.
The statements of the woman's family were recorded and the probe is on.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Iftikhar (37) is the founder and director of Staffing Match, a UK-based recruitment company. Media reports describe him as leading a lavish lifestyle, residing in a £2 million home and owning a fleet of luxury vehicles. The court was told that Iftikhar has a criminal record spanning over two decades, with six previous convictions related to 15 offences, according to a report in NDTV. These offences include a common assault charge in 2004 and a drink-driving conviction in 2008. Further, in 2021, he was fined £3,000 after being caught driving his Rolls-Royce under the influence of alcohol and cannabis. NDTV, citing local reports, mentioned Iftikhar reportedly wore a grey suit paired with a pink shirt and yellow tie during his court appearance. He broke down in tears as he was sentenced to 15 months in jail. A father of three and husband to two wives, Iftikhar was travelling in the first-class section on February 7, 2023 when he became enraged after being asked to stop taking ice from the onboard bar. Iftikhar, who had been consuming champagne as he travelled with his wife Erum Salman and their three children, verbally abused and threatened a flight attendent saying she would be dragged out of her hotel room, gang raped and set on fire. The entire incident was captured on camera by a co-passenger. The video showed Iftikhar accusing the flight attendant of being a racist. In the video, he was heard saying, 'You called me a Pa-i in front of everybody." When cabin crew asked him to return to his seat, Iftikhar replied, 'Don't tell me what to do you racist f—ing b–ch. I know where you are from in Cardiff." Isleworth Crown Court heard the case as Prosecutor Abdul Kapadia said Iftikhar's behaviour even forced the cabin crew to discuss diverting the plane to Turkey, the report further mentioned. However, the plane was not diverted and landed in Pakistan. The 37-year-old was arrested a year later, on March 16, 2024 at his home in Iver in England's Buckinghamshire. As per prosecutor Abdul Kapadia, Iftikhar knew the specific hotel, but also the hotel room numbers, and threatened the cabin crew. 'He told [the stewardess]: 'You will be dead on the floor of your hotel'." 'You will be dragged by your hair from your room and gang raped and set on fire," Kapadia said, citing Iftikhar. The victim, who was present in the court during the hearing, said: 'I am a strong, brave, happy stewardess, and loved my job… I was working when all flights were grounded on 9/11, and I've even flown into a warzone. According to an NDTV investigation, Pakistan's military and intelligence agencies have begun rebuilding other terror facilities along the LoC. These include smaller, high-tech camps in forested areas, designed specifically to evade Indian surveillance, with masking against thermal, radar, and satellite detection. During Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army had destroyed Jaish-e-Mohammed's main base, the Subhan Allah Mosque in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. In this airstrike, many terrorists, including some family members of Jaish leader Masood Azhar, were killed. According to a report in The Print, the group has relaunched social media campaigns, recruitment drives via Telegram and WhatsApp, and posted audio messages of its chief Masood Azhar calling for revenge. One speech, attributed to Azhar, vowed to destroy the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. India destroyed Jaish's main headquarters Indian fighter jets carried out precise strikes on terrorist camps inside Pakistan without even crossing the border. They targeted training camps, launch pads, and headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Under Operation Sindoor, India struck a total of nine terror bases in both Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The strike on Jaish's headquarters in Bahawalpur and Lashkar's base in Muridke, Punjab (Pakistan), was successful. These strikes were India's strong response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, where 26 people were killed. Since 1999, Bahawalpur has become the main base for Jaish-e-Mohammed. This happened after Masood Azhar was released in exchange for passengers of the hijacked IC-814 flight. Jaish has been involved in many deadly attacks in India, including: Parliament attack in 2021 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly attack in 2000 Pathankot airbase attack in 2016 xPulwama suicide bombing, where 40 CRPF soldiers were killed in 2019 Masood Azhar was declared a global terrorist, and he has not been seen in public since April 2019. Azhar started Jaish in January 2000 with help from Pakistan's ISI, Taliban leaders in Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden, and other radical groups in Pakistan. The Subhan Allah center in Bahawalpur was where Jaish trained its fighters and spread its radical ideology. Indian officials believe the Pulwama attack in 2019 was planned at this same camp.
