Andhra Pradesh: TTD proposes renaming Renigunta airport after Lord Venkateswara
Naidu said that a recommendation has been sent to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the airport will be redesigned with aesthetics reflecting Tirumala's spiritual and devotional atmosphere.
"A proposal has been made to rename Renigunta airport after Lord Sri Venkateswara. The airport will reflect Tirumala's divine aesthetics," said, Naidu addressing a press conference.
The TTD chairman said that the temple body plans to construct a Srivari temple at a prime location in Bengaluru, subject to land allotment by the Karnataka government.
Union Minister for Heavy Industries Kumara Swamy has agreed to provide 100 electric buses to TTD, and efforts are underway to bring them to Tirumala shortly, said the temple body in the release.
TTD has also decided to lease space in Tirupati for establishing a CSIR Lab to verify quality of ghee, water and food used in temple offerings.
Naidu said that the 73-year-old Sri Venkateswara college in Delhi will be modernised while a three-member panel headed by TTD chairman will resolve issues of 200 contract lecturers before new recruitments proceed.
TTD's Dharmic (religious) wing will launch initiatives including priesthood training for backward groups, Sadgamaya (enlightenment /righteousness) for student ethics, and Saubhagyam (good fortune), a programme for women on Varalakshmi Vratam (sacred observance) day.
Other programmes include Akshara Govindam for children, Harikatha Vaibhavam, Sanmargam for prisoners, Giri Janardhanam in tribal areas, and Vana-Nidhi for promoting spiritual and ecological values.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has requested Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari to give speedy clearance to the Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada metro rail projects, while promising to do what all is required from the State for the smooth implementation of the highway projects. The State government would ensure that land acquisition issues did not hamper the road projects that were crucial for development, Mr. Naidu told Mr. Gadkari, while thanking him for sanctioning eight road projects, including a greenfield highway between Hyderabad and Vijayawada, the total cost of which was about ₹27,000 crore. Addressing a meeting where Mr. Gadkari virtually laid foundation for 27 road projects and inaugurated two projects on Saturday, Mr. Naidu said he was happy that the Union Minister agreed to recommend the sanction of an Outer Ring Road (ORR) around Amaravati. He suggested that a bullet train linking Amaravati with Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru would connect the huge population in those States. Mr. Naidu said road projects costing more than ₹70,000 crore were in various stages of execution in Andhra Pradesh, and emphasis had been laid on the construction of sea and airports in order to provide the best logistics facilities. Mr. Naidu said he was impressed by Mr. Gadkari's dynamism in giving tangible shape to the highway projects that involved huge investments, and expressed confidence that under his leadership, the length of the national highways being built in a day would reach 50 km from the present 37 km. The Chief Minister said that Mr. Gadkari had played a key role in the construction of the Polavaram project when he was the Union Minister for Water Resources. Mr. Gadkari said in his speech earlier that Mr. Naidu's vision to link the Godavari, the Krishna and the Penna was commendable, insisting that this project had the potential to take water from there to as far as the tail-end areas in Tamil Nadu. Union Ministers K. Rammohan Naidu, Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar and Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, Ministers B.C. Janardhan Reddy and Y. Efforts to attract investments from Singapore will soon pay off, says Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister Bharath
Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath has said the results of the visit of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu-led delegation to Singapore to attract investors to the State will be visible soon. Speaking to the media persons in Kurnool on Sunday, Mr. Bharath said the previous government's policies had turned away the investors from Singapore. 'Mr. Naidu made a sustained effort to erase the bad image and attract investments through his meetings with the officials, industrialists and business tycoons there. Mr. Naidu succeeded in his mission, and we will soon see the results in the way of investments,' he asserted. Apart from Mr. Naidu, the delegation comprised Ministers N. Lokesh, P. Narayana and Mr. Bharath. He said that Singapore achieved rapid strides in development as there was a stable and strong government. Mr. Bharath asserted that Andhra Pradesh too needed a stable government, which would bring investments to the State. Elaborating on his visit to various plants, ports and other places in Singapore, the Minister said Artificial Intelligence was playing a key role in all those places. On the proposed investments in the State, Mr. Bharath said Reliance would be investing in Orvakal in the district and a Coimbatore-based company had already set up its unit in Orvakal. Mr. Bharath said there was a huge potential for the youth to get jobs as pilots, and urged them to utilise the pilot training courses to be imparted at the Pilot Training Centre coming up at the Orvakal airport. 'Works on bringing water from Muchumarri to Orvakal Industrial Hub have been completed by 90%. We will also complete various irrigation projects, which will lead to industrial development. With sustained efforts of the NDA government, the entire district will witness development,' he said. Mr. Bharath said the government is taking all steps to stop migrations from the district and would support the small industries and bring them back on track. 'By handholding the small and minor industries, we can stop migration,' he said, adding that TIDCO houses would soon be handed over to the eligible poor. He further said the process of setting up the High Court Bench in Kurnool was going on. Mr. Bharath said the previous government had resorted to the liquor scam, causing loss to the exchequer, and action would be taken against those involved.

TTD defends AI strategy to cut waiting time for darshan
1 2 Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman BR Naidu and former chief secretary LV Subramanyam, who also earlier served as TTD EO, sparred over the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to reduce waiting time for darshan at Tirumala, drawing everyones attention to the contentious subject of the integration of AI in temple services. The former CS, who was at Tirumala on Sunday, found fault with the attempt to reduce the waiting time for Darshan at Tirumala to less than 3 hours with the help of AI. "It is impossible to reduce the darshan waiting time below three hours through AI as there are several limitations at the temple. Instead, the TTD could focus it's attention on improvising the pilgrim amenities on the hill town", LV Subramanyam asserted. Differing with the former chief secretary, TTD chaimam BR Naidu told reporters that the new trust board had resolved in November last year to integrate AI in temple services with a noble intention to reduce the inconvenience caused to the visiting devotees due to long waiting hours in the queue lines. "The TTD has consulted global leaders in technology and AI to arrive at tailor made solutions for reducing the waiting time for darshan below three hours. In addition, equal focus for integrating various other pilgrim services with AI to extend seamless services to the multitude of devotees arriving on a pilgrimage to Tirumala is also being explored", BR Naidu asserted. The TTD chairman also faulted LV Subramanyam for his misleading comments on TTD's plans to adopt and integrate AI in temple services. "He has worked as TTD EO in the past and is very well aware of the inconvenience caused to the devotees who are sometimes forced to wait even for 72 hours in the queue for darshan. How can he fault the TTD which is exploring the possibilities to reduce the waiting time for Darshan with the help of AI", BR Naidu said.
