It was her night once again. Lainey Wilson took home the top prize at the 60th annual Academy of Country Music Awards — the title of entertainer of the year — for a second year in a row. And that was after she cleaned house, taking home trophies for both female artist and album of the year.
"I really do have the best fans in the world," she said in her final acceptance speech, admitting to experiencing impostor syndrome. "I dreamed about entertaining. ... Country music has given me more than I deserve."
Beyond Wilson's dominance, the 2025 ACM Awards were packed with celebration. Earlier, first-time and leading nominee Ella Langley's duet with Riley Green, the ubiquitous "You Look Like You Love Me," was named single and music event of the year.

Both Langley and Green used their first acceptance speech to shout out classic country — songs with talking in them — that inspired their modern hit.
A revisitation of the past might have been a theme Thursday night, evidenced right at the top of the ceremony: a 14-minute medley of six decades of country classics, performed by giants of the genre.
Host Reba McEntire launched into Merle Haggard's "Okie from Muskogee," followed by Clint Black with Glen Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy" and Wynonna Judd with The Judds' "Why Not Me." LeAnn Rimes returned to the ACM Awards stage for her 1997 ballad "Blue." Little Big Town tackled their 2014 track "Girl Crush" and Dan + Shay delivered their "Tequila."
It was an exciting way to kick off the ACM Awards, live from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, just north of Dallas.

ESPN announce Lee Corso's final College GameDay will be Texas at Ohio State in Week 1

ESPN announce Lee Corso's final College GameDay will be Texas at Ohio State in Week 1 Lee Corso's final ESPN College GameDay will feature the Texas Longhorns. ESPN has announced the 2025 debut of the popular college football pregame show will be in Columbus, OH on Aug. 30 for the Longhorns visit to the Horseshoe to take on Ohio State. The show will also be Corso's last chance to make a headgear pick. ESPN revealed earlier this year Corso would be retiring after Week 1 of the 2025 season. ESPN will use the episode to honor Corso's 38 college football seasons on the air. "Special programming honoring and celebrating Corso's career will be present throughout the Week 1 show in addition to the GameDay crew previewing the 2025 season and all the action of the kickoff Saturday slate," ESPN disclosed. "The season-opening episode will be located in its traditional spot on Ohio State's campus before finishing the show inside 'The Shoe' where Corso will make his final headgear pick in front of 100,000 fans ahead of the Buckeyes' noon kick." Ironically, Corso's first headgear pick was also in Columbus back in 1996. 'My family and I will be forever indebted for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and College GameDay for nearly 40 years,' Corso, who will turn 90 in August, said in a statement. 'I have a treasure of many friends, fond memories and some unusual experiences to take with me into retirement.' 'ESPN has been exceptionally generous to me, especially these past few years," Corso added. "They accommodated me and supported me, as did my colleagues in the early days of College GameDay. Special thanks to Kirk Herbstreit for his friendship and encouragement. And lest I forget, the fans…truly a blessing to share this with them. ESPN gave me this wonderful opportunity and provided me the support to ensure success. I am genuinely grateful.' College GameDay will go live at 8 a.m. CT on ESPN on Aug. 30. The first two hours of the show will be broadcast from outside St. John Arena while the crew will move inside Ohio Stadium for the final hour of the show. FOX's Big Noon Kickoff pregame show will also be in Columbus for Ohio State vs. Texas as FOX will broadcast the game on its national network at noon.

Lee Corso's final ‘College GameDay' to come at Ohio State in Week 1

Lee Corso's final mascot headgear pick for 'College GameDay' will come at Ohio State, where it all began. ESPN's flagship college football show will go to Columbus, Ohio, in Week 1, where the Buckeyes will face Texas in what is expected to be a top-five matchup. ESPN said in April that the 89-year-old Corso would retire after Week 1 of the upcoming season, giving him a celebratory sendoff, but it did not name the location. There was some speculation the show could go to the Florida State-Alabama game, as Corso played at FSU in the 1950s alongside actor Burt Reynolds (and because Ohio State-Texas will be broadcast on Fox). 📍 Week 1: Columbus, OH We're kicking off College GameDay with a trip to Texas-Ohio State, as we celebrate Lee Corso's final show back where he first made headgear history! 🤩 — College GameDay (@CollegeGameDay) June 10, 2025 But the show will send Corso off where the headgear picks began. While Corso has been on the show since its inception in 1987, his first mascot pick came at Ohio State in 1996 for the Buckeyes' game against Penn State. Corso has made 430 headgear picks, from Buckeyes to animals to helmets to full-on costumes. He's correctly picked 66.5 percent of those choices, according to ESPN, including a perfect 11-0 in 1999. Brutus Buckeye has been the most popular pick, chosen 45 times, with Alabama just behind at 38. 'When it was our game, I was always hoping he didn't pick us,' Nick Saban said in April, 'because I knew the players were watching and I wanted reverse rat poison.' Coach Lee Corso by the numbers 🤯 🐻 430 mascot headgear picks🏈 66.5% win rate of picks all-time🏆 Perfect season = 1999 More on LC's 38 years on @CollegeGameDay: — ESPN PR (@ESPNPR) April 17, 2025 'My family and I will be forever indebted for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and 'College GameDay' for nearly 40 years,' Corso said in a news release in April. Chez Nous Brings a New French Energy to the Marlton Hotel

Opening Margaux in the Marlton Hotel in Greenwich Village has become a new French restaurant. The owners, Sean McPherson, Ira Drukier and Richard Born, with their partners David Kuhn and Kevin Thompson, who are in media and entertainment, have put the kitchen in the hands of Flossie Gilles, from Montpellier, France, who was executive chef at Le Bilboquet. Her menu reflects the City of Light with leeks pavé, braised endives, chicken with escargot sauce, salmon en papillote and profiteroles; a burger and a New York strip also give a taste of what's popular in Paris. A dazzling 30-foot mural by the English painter Cecily Brown covers the back wall in a skylit room. Marlton Hotel, 5 West Eighth Street, 212-321-0111, In a city where a glass of rosé can set you back $28 or more, what the winemaker Jordan Veran is doing with his wine bar is notable. The evening hours are decorated with candlelight at Bright Side Café in Williamsburg, and wines are served by the glass; there are 10, $12 to $15 (bottles start at $60), and are mostly low-intervention French wines like Terroirists from Gaillac in Southwest France, with which Mr. Veran has a personal connection. The wine bar will be in residence at the cafe through November. 184 Kent Avenue (North Fourth Street), Williamsburg, Brooklyn, The name is a reference to the four partners who pay homage to their native heritage, with a Turkish approach to breakfast, lunch and dinner, prepared by three Turkish chefs. Breakfast involves Turkish sausage, for lunch there are Turkish-style tacos (fried dough enclosing beef, chicken or vegetables), and dinner starts with mezze and goes on to sumac-crusted salmon and braised short ribs with eggplant and orzo. Turkey inspires cocktails and some Turkish wines are poured in the art-filled 60-seat room. (Opens Wednesday) 9 Jones Steet (West Fourth Street), 929-697-2305. Eddie Huang, who made a splash with 'Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir' in 2013, is popping up at the Flower Shop on the edge of Chinatown. Olive oil from his in-law's estate in Greece gives a mostly personal Taiwanese menu a taste of the Mediterranean. Three courses are $80 with seatings at 7 and 9 p.m., June 11 through 13, July 9 to 11, Aug. 6 to 8, and Sept. 10 to 12. (Wednesday) 107 Eldridge Street (Broome Street), Want all of The Times?
